Have you made a bird feeder? I would love to see one you have made!

      Hi Dale,
Thanks for your comment, I haven't made a bird feeder as I'm not sure the Lead Came would be good to come in contact with the bird seed. I would hate to give a bunch of birds Lead Poisoning!!! Again, thanks for your comment and I'm glad you're enjoying the videos.

Oh my gosh.. that beveled glass one is gorgeous! How, did you do that?
I have 2 cutters. The one with oil then the one that has the 2 little round blades. I call it the chopper. Lol.. then l have the tool that snaps the glass after cutting. I think l have an assortment of glass sheets stored away.
I always wanted to get into creating with glass.
I was just getting started and we ended up going on the road for work.. that was years..then l never got back to it.
    Would love to know more!!

      Hi again,
There is a video on my channel showing how to make all of these solar lanterns. You will have to check them out when you have time. Your chopper is called a nipper and the tool to snap the glass after it has been scored is caller running pliers. Itt's fun to have funny names for tools you use, my kiln is called the cooker thanks to my Granddaughter's. If you are going to get restarted in the stain glass projects, check out my first video called Leaded Glass Solar Lantern for Beginners!! It's a good video to get you going, each project gets a little herded from there. Again, thanks for your kind wds and pleas feel free to ask me about any of these projects.
      Regards,
      Bill Stone

I have watched 2 of them and one was the solar light. I'm definitely going to do this. I need a few things for the forms and the lead H and U cane, flux..
Not quite sure about the wood form for that you set them in while soldering though. I will show my husband and he can usually figure that stuff out.
This is exciting! And you are very thorough in your teaching.
      Thank you,
      Jeanette

      Hi Jeanette,
Great to hear from you again, the small wood I'm using is made from taking a 3/4" pine board on a table saw and setting the side gate at 1/4" and running the board through the saw. I usually use a board 6"x15" that gives me a bunch of
1/4" x3/4" wide strips 15" long to use for my forms. If you don't want to cut up the strips, go to Home Depot and buy a couple wooden yard sticks and cut them to size. You can also pick up some wooden paint stirrers, sometimes there free. All the came used on these projects are RU-70 U came and RH-9 H came. If you haven't used lead came before check out Cascade Metals website, they have a great chart showing all kinds of came, just click on the box for lead came and you will see all of them. The flux I use is called Classic 100 gel flux. I also use a 60/40 solder on all these projects. Thanks for your comment and I look forward to hearing from you in the future.
      Regards,
      Bill Stone

Thank you, l will definitely check them out for the metal came.
I'm pretty sure my husband has a good soldering gun and he has paint sticks galore. He restores cars.
Again, thank you, for all the information. It's very helpful!

      Hi Jeannette,
Sounds like a plan, if you don't have a glass supply store close to you, you can find all kinds of supplies online at Amazon, E-Bay or just type in Stained Glass Supplies in your area and all kinds of stores will open up. Sometimes you can find what you are looking for at Hobby Lobby. In your comment you said something about a soldering gun, you really need a standard soldering iron. I use a Waller 100 watt with a 700-degree tip in it, if you use a standard soldering iron you will need a voltage regulator to adjust the heat on the iron. If it's too hot it not only melts the solder, but your lead came also. That makes a mess of things and in most cases, you have to replace that piece of came in the project. Look forward to hearing from you. You must live on the West Coast somewhere, as you answered my last reply very late in the evening or just a night owl!!! We live in Corona, CA
You said your husband was into cars, I was into them in High School and in the years to follow. Sometime when you have time check out the video on my Travel channel, it's called Bill Stone's Travel Adventures. There is a video of my car from high school and a little story about all the transitions it went through over the years. Have a great day.
