I've had so much trouble with DPFs I got myself a small diesel with only an EGR valve to worry about. I swear I have DPF PTSD from dealing with the last few Renaults my wife had.

Good vids Baz. Been watching you and Jimmy trying to understand what's wrong with my 2018 single turbo Vivaro. It's doing a regeneration every 20 miles. Just don't know what it's being caused by. Local diesel specialist garage has checked for leaks, pressure tested, check for codes etc. Nothing obvious. Jimmy thought the DPF looked ok after he cleaned it/checked over some electrical faults and I sent him some data once everything had cooled down the next morning. So I wonder if it's a engine soot issue, software bug or some crappy hardware. No fault codes other than the one dilution one that shows up after 3000 miles.
Whatever it is, it's bloody frustrating and I do wonder if there's a core issue on these vans where something like what I'm experiencing is causing all sorts of havoc and it's not being dealt with. The typical pressure sensor pipe being blocked is well documented but some of these other issues don't seem to be. Maybe they just aren't as common. After speaking to Jimmy and a local diesel specialist they both seem to say they have an awful lot of 2018 onwards, coming in. Have you seen any of these vans with repeated oil dilution fault issues from too many regenerations?
Just back to the vid quickly, have they literally just sprayed it silver to hide that it's gone rusty, or what?
    Thanks, PWU.

If DPF regens weren't working properly you'd expect oil level to go high as it dumps fuel there before the regen is complete. Are the turbo seals knacked? Ni point replacing DPF if it will clog again because of this - easy way to tell is look at the boost pressure sensor, if its caked you can investigate further.
I would also check for fuel contamination; tends to be the first thing that sets off this chain of events.

Does the customer have a warranty of any kind on this vehicle? In the states, the dealer that sells the car usually gives the buyer at least 30 day warranty on a car this new. Even if the car was a private party sale and doesn't a dealer warranty, there is a government mandated 8 year, 80K mile warranty on emissions components through the manufacturer.

The reason them mazda 2.2d have dpf issues is because the exhaust cam shaft is burnt out lobes worn. keeps the cyclinder constantly rich .mazda sell an upgraded cam shaft if u dont fix them the valves start sticking and blown head gasket will follow

It's already been done by the looks of the dpf hence why it's painted silver

We had chancers in scrap yards painting them silver selling as recondition. The fact the oil is gone low even with a new one could still be happening
