I've had so much trouble with DPFs I got myself a small diesel with only an EGR valve to worry about. I swear I have DPF PTSD from dealing with the last few Renaults my wife had.
If DPF regens weren't working properly you'd expect oil level to go high as it dumps fuel there before the regen is complete. Are the turbo seals knacked? Ni point replacing DPF if it will clog again because of this - easy way to tell is look at the boost pressure sensor, if its caked you can investigate further. I would also check for fuel contamination; tends to be the first thing that sets off this chain of events.
Does the customer have a warranty of any kind on this vehicle? In the states, the dealer that sells the car usually gives the buyer at least 30 day warranty on a car this new. Even if the car was a private party sale and doesn't a dealer warranty, there is a government mandated 8 year, 80K mile warranty on emissions components through the manufacturer.
DPF issues are a nightmare baz i got rid of my 2015 mazda cx5 2.2d as i had dpf issues and in the end it wasnt worth it ....there is a irish guy on here to sorts lots of DPF issues -he uses launch products aswell if you know of him or watched him at work?
The reason them mazda 2.2d have dpf issues is because the exhaust cam shaft is burnt out lobes worn. keeps the cyclinder constantly rich .mazda sell an upgraded cam shaft if u dont fix them the valves start sticking and blown head gasket will follow
Baz, if you had a van like this and it was a "keeper", would you periodically inject the DPF with cleaner (even if there was no dash light on) from time to time to avoid total DPF failure?
We have had these engine in blowing oil in on the cold side of the turbo bearing was fine just seals had failed the funny nuts on the small plastic piece on thr turbo if you remove can some time see it when you run the engine . Is there not a crowed up your way that professionally clean them

It's already been done by the looks of the dpf hence why it's painted silver
We had chancers in scrap yards painting them silver selling as recondition. The fact the oil is gone low even with a new one could still be happening
Hi mate, What should the differential pressures be on these 1.6 at idle and 3k rpm?
That oil has gone somewhere ,
Baz - what’s the scanner you’re using? Looks like the business!
It's launch euro tab 3 buddy 🤙
Thanks Baz!
