Hi, I would just like to take the time to thank you for taking the extra time to shoot these videos and all the changes in camera angles and the verbal narration you provide. I am not a mechanic but you are teaching me a hell of a lot. Thank you.
i've had this problem in lexus is200, i used kettle descaler with hot water and then flushed it with clean water using pump attached to drill, lots of gunk came out, solved the problem without replacing heater core
@@bazmeredithlmfao... frozen to the ramp ? Anyhow , for you get to do anything out of your comfort zone? VAG belts, are not included. Any crank replacements? Conrods? Bearings etc? I totally understand if not, as not every garage takes them on, asthe really easy work, and easy jobs you're already doing. Not having a dig, just asking the question...as I'm sure you can do that kind of work
@@Rubberdinghyrapidseasy jobs are brakes and services ect.... I do all sorts of vehicle repairs. Body work engine builds there isn't nothing I won't do.. I've done plenty of engine builds on my tiktok.. thing with engine builds it's time consuming.. top end work I do myself but if it's block work I use a machine shop (not that I can't do it) it's cost effective for somebody to do it cheaper than myself while I plod on with other stuff.. engine rebuild is time consuming.. I've built many engines over the years
@@RubberdinghyrapidsI'm in my comfort zone when I've got an engine in the stand in bits or a gearbox striped replacing bearings and synchros, like I said it's cost effective for me to give it to somebody that is doing them all the time, I'm lucky where I am there is a gearbox center and a very good machine shop
If it works it works. I like the tyre valve trick. Will remember that one. Makes me wonder how quickly the range on E.Vs will diminish in this sub zero weather. 😄
I have a caddy maxi van with no heater but luckily enough you can replace the heater rad with the dash insitu, I wonder if it being a vag group car this will be the same.

Great video bud. Your on point as always. Keep the videos coming and stay warm. Just not the best time of year for our profession.
You get used to it buddy.. only time I'll stop is when my spanners are frozen to the ramp

Cheers for this, had zero heat and used this method but with a jet washer instead of compressed air and heating working again as normal 🥳🥳
great video as usual great tips to get the customer going

The cold is a battery killer that's for sure
@@bazmeredithwould your car overheat in the same circumstances if the heater core was blocked ?
Is the silicone pouch in the coolant bottle burst thus blocking the heater matrix?
Silica even! Great video
No it's casting sand that blocks them up not the bags although when they split they can block them up

See one recently, not nice this time of year with no heat, good job 👍

Same problem. Any idea where the heater matrix is in the a Seat Ibiza, which is what is being worked on in the video.
Why didn't you flush it through with a hosepipe while the ppipes were off or even better with something slightly higher pressure than a hosepipe?
Is it a dash out job to do matrix
Thanks in advance
What about if one side is blowing hotter than the other side
The vw curse, my golf has the same problem 😠
That’s good idea …..if you stick a hose in there do the same thing
Did someone say Silica bag ?
