Trigger I do a lot of custom metal fab building race cars. would the bulldog plus be a good product for bare metal you want to protect from rusting before body work is done later on? If so would you still want to throw a 2k primer on top of it before adding plastic?
I have a question Trigger. Did you mix the adhesion promoter into the product? I didn't see in the video where you sprayed it separately. Ive used the spray can version of Bulldog Adhesion promoter in the bed of trucks before application of Rhino bed liner , but never used the quart size cans.
I appreciate the knowledge that you spread. Question, I have an old skool cutlass with Crome bumpers. I want to color them. What process do you suggest?
Dam man you're going to do up the cutty like that ? 🥹 it's better not be a 71 with the 442 or even the rocket. Me personally I'd hit it with something really aggressive slightly gouging the metal then go back with an epoxy primer, because sometime regardless of how good you prep Chrome it will still flake off get rock chips etc. It's better to give overkill than under do it.
@@thetriggerman954 Great! Thank you! Guys at the paint store were saying " Just use the Bulldog" I said " Nope, not till I ask Trigger first!!!" Thank you! I will go get some in the morning!
How u doing trigga man? I'm painting my brother grill and headlight covers for his 86 chevy c10. Do I still have to add the adhesion promoter after I sanded it down before I prime it? I was supposed to spray it before I primed it and forgot. Will I have to sand the primer back down or just spray it on top the primer?
Ideally you want to put the adhesion promoter first. That's what makes the primer stick to the surface. There is a chance that it could fail down the line if not
I was hoping I didn't have to re-sand the primer off, being that it's the original old parts but if I have to then that's the only option I have if I want it to last. Thanks trigga man.
There's a link in the description. I think it's like $80. If the temperature in your booth isn't that hot them medium would be fine. I usually use medium unless it's a big job/panel.
Hey TriggerMan, Love your videos. I am doing my first restoration on a 1970 FJ40 Landcruiser. I am having problems getting paint up under the dash in crevices, corners, etc. I have a touch up gun but it is still too big. I was thinking of getting an airbrush, but not sure. What do you recommend?
Thank you man, it's hard to visualize what you're saying. What is you used the mini gun with a disposable cup system so you can turn the gun upside down and get in those weird angles. The disposable cup systems will allow you to turn the gun upside down and spray if need be turn the fluid all the way in so it shoots straight like a missile
Can I add, get the soft plastic cups. Turn the gin upside down and all the air will pull out of it before the paint, then you can paint any angle... Probably what Trigger was saying anyway. Also, play with your fan setting. Narrow it up and you'll get to whatever you can see. Just remember that of you half the fan be sure to half the pressure and fluid 😉
Great video, I was watching Brian from paint society and he used a sealer on the underside of a unscuffed hood, I asked him what product he used but didn't reply back. I use to use Bulldog Jamb and edge but it has been discontinued. Will the Bulldog pls work on unscuffed undersides of hood and trunk lids? Thanks
It all depends on your paint system you use at your shop for example ppg envirobase the sealer we use can stick to factory ecoat without scuffing check your tds sheet some dealers stick to ecoat without scuffing I only do this for underside or jambing parts out
@@JaminGalv what about aftermarket parts? I know the ecoat isn't that great on some aftermarket parts so all of that would have to be taken into consideration right?
Mr. TriggerMan, I have a question? Is wrapping a old model car with worn off pain a good 💡 idea. Or just repainting it. Thanks for this video really helps us. ... OORAH!
I'm no expert in wrapping but if I had to give a logical answer I'd say that's a bad idea, thos wraps need solid substrate to adhere to. And worn paint might give it air pockets so it would most likely have air bubbles after the sun dries it. And you're more than welcome glad it helps 💪🏼
