I loved the video, thank you very much for all your help, me and my friends started playing MTGA today and you guided us a lot! A couple quick questions though, is the Jump In thing a limited time event? And what do you mean by saying that if you wait to open Golden Packs until after rotation you'll get a much tighter pool of cards to pull from? I thought a rotation meant a new set comes in, meaning you have all the rares and mythics from there in the pool now too, no? And also, does any pack you open progress towards unlocking a Golden Pack or only the newest one (or standard legal ones) affect that? Again, thank you so much, keep it up and take care!(:
Good questions! First, rotation is a once a year event where the year previous cards rotate out of standard. Therefore, the rotated cards do not open in gold packs, so it tightens it up quite a bit. Jump in is a limited event because there are limited packs and it produces a 40 card deck. The card limitation, however, is why it is a limited format. Unlike most limited formats, however, you do not build the decks... kne is built for you.
What is the 3,400 coins for?!!?!!? I got djabaited. I don’t see how to improve quickly with Quick Draft often times even on the first pull of the pack the highest rarity I’m offered is an uncommon. I’m lucky if one of the 3 packs has a mythic or a rare.
This is extremely bad advice. Do not do this. Nobody in their right mind is going to wait like a year to put together a deck to play the main game - Standard Bo3. Much less claiming to wait 2 years. This is as unrealistic as can be. And completely not necessary. And saying get more cards collect collect. Not only is this not necessary. This is an extremely bad idea. Or just like frivolously saying just jump into Historic. Well what if you have zero interest in Historic? I have never played historic, and have absolutely no interest to do so. Especially when they gave me 10 free dual decks that are all Standard legal. Including some nice cards in there. I'm not sure what this is video is implying about building your collection. But you should absolutely not just be collecting random cards for no reason to increase your collection. Of course, it would not be invalid depending on how you want to play. But it is not valid to suggest it in general. You should not be using your currency or opening packs at all initially. The only time you should be ever consider packs if when you have a plan for your deck, and need specific cards for it. This is what packs help to get. And the only time you should be using currency is when you need said packs that may contain the cards you need. For example, currently, we are in Phyrexia. Most definitely it is as unrealistic as can possibly be to say wait a year. Or even worse wait two years. Rotation is in September. Ideally, hold off on building your Standard deck until then. If it was September now, then it would be no less ideal as the perfect time to be working on planning and building your Standard deck now. However, you cannot in your right mind realistically expect anybody to wait that long. Another option is at least wait until the next expansion in a month from now to start working on your Standard deck. But then again, if you can't wait that long, it is not going to be a problem to put together a deck for Standard. Basically, be sure to complete your initial color challenges. And you will get 5 mono colored decks that are not Standard legal. Fine. But each day, you will get a dual-colored deck that is Standard legal. Although, not very optimal for Standard bo3. So continue to play Standard bo1, and get familiarized with the current play styles. It will take 7 days before you get all 10 dual-colored decks. During this time, there should really be no major concern about building a real Standard deck. And there should never be any concern ever about building your collection (and I want to make it clear this is a general suggestion that may not apply to users who are into other things such as collecting cards, and enjoy using them to make all kinds of decks). This particular explanation is for users who are interested in getting into the main game - Standard bo3. Once you get your 10 decks, you can continue until September without ever opening any packs or spending any currency. Because your concern is absolutely not building any sort of collection of cards. The intent is to get an idea of all the cards available in Standard, and decide what type of deck you would like to put together that you would enjoy for yourself. Ideally, wait till September to do this. But you cannot realistically expect anybody to wait this long. OK April is in a month, this as probably a good idea to wait for. But let's say you cannot wait until April. What if you just want a decent Bo3 deck to use now? Like for example, say you have completed your 10 dual-decks, and have been studying the cards for Standard. And want to start working on putting a Standard deck together now. The only major thing to keep in mind when planning out your deck is the 4 expansions that will be rotating out of Standard in September. So you want to mitigate putting any currency towards getting cards from those sets. And planning out your Standard deck/sideboard based on cards that will continue to be legal. As well as cards from the sets that will be rotating out that you already own. Therefore try to build a Standard deck in a way that you avoid spending any currency/wild cards towards getting cards from the sets that will be rotating out. The next logical step would be to go for Jump-In. Don't just play Jump-In because oh I want to build up a collection of random cards and get more rares that I probably will never use if they cannot even be used in the deck I'm planning to build. I didn't have my entire deck planned out when I played my 5 Jump-In games using my tokens. But of course, I already had an idea of cards from Jump-In packs that I was trying to get. My plan for my Standard deck was boros. So I was namely trying to get Nahiri, war whip, etc. And so that is what I was seeking in Jump-in. I would never advisee playing Jump-In for any sort of random collection building. Or any other reason. The point is that you you have a deck in mind for Standard, and cards you need for your deck concept. Therefore, playing Jump-In to go for the packs that contain those cards. If you can save your tokens until September or April, great. The point is, knowing what cards you need for your Standard deck from whatever current sets are out, and playing Jump-In as the first step to obtaining cards. The next step is draft to get packs you need which I find to be a better idea than purchasing individual packs. However, it may be better to go for purchasing individual packs if you find that you might not do well enough in draft to make it more cost effective than buying packs individually. And of course not open any packs until you feel it is the right time that you have done enough to get as much cards and packs as you can. The entire point here is your not doing any of this for any sort of random reason of building your card collection for no reason. Everything you're doing is because you already have your Standard deck concept planned out. And you are missing specific cards. Therefore, taking the steps to get the cards. The very last and final step is to use wild cards for whatever you're still missing. But this is always a last resort. Never use wild cards to craft cards unless your sure about them. This goes for commons as well. It is totally pointless to just randomly spend currency, open packs, etc just to supposedly build your collection and accumulate random rares and mythicals that you will never use. The entire point is that you know the style of play you enjoy, the color combinations you enjoy, and planning your deck for what you enjoy. And only using your resources to obtain cards that you need for your personal deck concept. And prior to September rotation, consider to put together a temporary deck concept that puts less emphasis on cards that are rotating out. Just as an example of my Standard deck, there is a very powerful red scroll that is used in professional Standard. It creates a treasure goblin, gives card draw, and transforms into something quite dangerous. It would be amazing for my Standard deck. However, it is from a set that will be rotating out. And I don't own it due to never getting it from any free cards or any free packs I got from that set. But I'm not going to try to get packs or burn wild cards to get it. I opted to simply build a deck without it. This is because, I am holding off until September to do my all out Standard deck. And until then, just put together something functional to enjoy Standard bo3. Because no way in hell am I waiting a year or two to actually play the game.
I didn't read it all... that is a lot, lol. Yes, good advice if you only want to play standard! Well thought out comment!! But a lot of the good, fun, juicy decks are in historic and they add more and more all the time. For a new profile (first two years) I recommend standard, but a deep profile will mostly play in historic! Standard changes all the time, but historic is built on the back of patience... Most of the new standard stuff is ... well ... kind of ok, but not great. I've been playing a lot of historic because of this. I hope you understand, but I don't like playing a card for a little while and then never again. What a waste!! I play the things that make me happy and those, most of the time, are in historic!! Furthermore, decks are only good in standard until they are not. That is why collections should be wide. One work around with the next set can ruin your entire collection if you are not careful... or you miscalculate. I like your comment and feel as if you are a smart player, but I think we have different goals. Cheers!
@@coffeestout You clearly did not read it considering I what I mentioned about historic. And why you should not be opening packs or using currency to get random cards that you do not plan to use. As in cards that you're not intending to use in your historic deck or standard or any deck. Not to mention the fact that nobody has to understand why you do or don't like Standard. Many users prefer historic over Standard. Or prefer various alternatives to Standard. This has nothing to do with users who are seeking to play the main game over any various alternatives. Video keeps saying build collection build collection. Fact = you should not be building your collection for no reason. What do you not get regarding the reasons I pointed out why that is? If you actually read what I had to say. And what do you not get about what I said about Standard in relation to other possible alternatives. Again if you actual read what I had to say instead of obnoxiously and ignorantly responding out of context. I'm giving this video a thumbs down just because of your absolute lack of professionality and incorrect information for new users.
@@divergentlife493 Alright... I went back and reread (I shouldn't make comments after beer, lol). It seems like you want to play the Borros deck. That is a pretty nice deck. I did not see anything negative about historic (not saying you were trying to be), but for my purposes, I collect in standard in order to play in Historic. I do want to ask how long you have played Arena or Magic in general. Not trying to push buttons, but I like perspective (lol). I liked standard quite a bit when I started really playing with the first group of Phyrexians (when I liked poison a lot better than Toxic). I didn't want to not play those cards anymore, so I started playing a lot less in Standard. It is still nice to play Standard on occasion because I was too off again on again in arena to have a deep Historic collection. There are others that play mostly standard, like CovertGoBlue, who competes a lot more than I do. I'm wondering if you are a competitive player, a newer player, or if you mostly play paper magic and only occasional arena. I could be completely wrong and you are somewhere in the middle. I will also say that, absolutely, drafting is half of MTG. I pay 20 bucks a week to draft at my local game store. I also spend a lot of time drafting on Arena. I usually play drafts above 50% so the value is there, but if somebody is not interested in drafting, gold packs keep folks interested in Arena. I have not actually bought a pack in a long, long time. Gold packs make it much easier for new players or folks that do not like drafting. Let me say something a little bit about Jump In! As said in the video, there are very few good rares in it, but these won't be opened in packs latter. I never really went into these events with the intention of collecting certain rares because it is way too RNG. Most of the value in Jump In! is the early game value of two rares and the staple common and uncommon. It also introduces new players to the game and gives them a fighting chance. I will highlight, however, why building out your collection is quite important if you want to play a lot of MTGA. Remember, there is no one way to play the game! It is just a game. I actually totally agree with your comment up above, but only if you have a very narrow focus (which is fine). Many decks (especially in standard) will only work until they don't. I have all of the things I want from ONE. Most of the cards, in every set, are stinkers... but many have a place somewhere. I play a lot of white, a lot of black, and a lot of blue. I am a rare person who thinks that the Obliterator is actually not very good as well... but I crafted two... because I make mistakes. And that is where building a collection is actually really good. Because a different card might actually be a lot better. The reason to not open packs for a long time is so that you can load up on things for Standard when rotation happens. Play in historic vs. playing the same 10 Starter Decks is an easy choice for me. Historic is also a lot cheaper. I have very few rares in historic and still play in Mythic because, overtime, synergies between cards add up. Then if there is a standard environment that you enjoy, pop the Gold Packs and then build a really big deck, or multiple really big decks. I hope that this clears up what my perspective is. I gave this comment a thumbs up! Feel free to dislike the video, or not watch, but this is an open forum. Remember, this is a game, and this is just how I play it. Mostly drafting, doing events (not because they are good, but because they are fun), and playing tons of different decks... though I am a little bit stuck on a deck right now. Cheers!
@@coffeestout I first played arena in 2019 before the start of Guilds of Ravnica. And MTG on paper before Origins when rotation was an absolute nightmare. Now rotation is much more beginner friendly. And the upcoming set has some of the best cards I've ever seen. When I usually care less about card previews. I never said anything about only wanting to play Standard. That is just an example for whatever format you intend to play. Or what you enjoy. Especially when there's many valid reasons some do not like Standard at all. It is, however, the main and most accessible format for beginners. Which is the point. The main point you keep overlooking is that the entire premise of the video is based on something that is incorrect when it comes to new users. That premise being building your collection. When doing so is not important whatever and should not even be on anybody's mind to think about if they're new. For specific exception of users that wasn't to do that because that is what they enjoy. OK great. But for the vast majority of new users in general - you do not need to be worried at all about building your collection. You don't even need to be concerned about the collection section. It is simply not necessary to even think about or worry about. Or go out of your way to do. Claiming as if building your collection is important = completely false. And is as backwards as can be. When it is the direct opposite. When it comes to new users in general, building card collection is not at all important and not something new users should be thinking about or worried about. And there is simply no logic in your claim that building up your collection is beneficial based on your assertion that there may be a better card out there. That just makes absolutely no sense whatsoever how building your collection makes any difference. Are you not aware you can use wilds to get cards you do not own? Anytime there is a better card out there for your deck than what you currently have, that is the card you are looking for. Which has zero to do with building up a collection of random cards. When planning your your deck, of course you will be going for the best possible cards for your deck. And building up random collection of cards is not efficient for that. And even has no relation to that. It is actually the reverse. You are not opening packs to build your collection. You are opening packs to find particular cards you need. for your deck. And your collection just happens to increase along the way. Nothing your saying about Jump In makes any sense at all. Especially in regards to getting rares. Like what do rates have to do with anything. Considering that is not what i stated Jump In can be used for. Not have I or will I ever mention anything about collecting rares. You, on the other hand, are treating rares as if seeking some kind of treasure that can have some kind of value for trade or internet card sales. Well that does not apply to Arena. Rares are completely meaningless if not relevant to your deck. Not to mention commons that are relevant are more valuable than rares that are irrelevant. Hence why I suggested Jump-In can be a good option to find cards you need. By looking up the packs on the internet. And trying to go for the ones that may have your cards. Absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with some deranged concept of referring to rares that nobody mentioned or cares about. For anybody new, the first thing is just about getting all your free dual decks with tons of cards. All 10 dual decks are Standard legal and can be used immediately to play Standard. They all also come with additional copies of cards that allow you to make alterations to your deck. But the best you can do with this is bo1 Standard. Since it will be difficult to make a sideboard with cards that can counter various decks. There are some exceptions of users who are coming into Arena and not into Standard. But for the vast majority of new users, Standard along with Alchemy and other alternative formats that are based on Standard sets are the main way to play Arena. And the most accessible when you're new. This includes Arena providing lots of Standard precon decks to work with for free. The next thing to think about after using dual decks and learning about the cards is putting together a more functional deck to use. Namely for Standard Bo3. But valid for any format somebody might be more interested in. And furthermore, focusing on one deck at a time. Putting together one single deck to start with. Users need to know efficient way to build a deck. Followed by optional methods for getting cards they need for their single deck. Not building up a collection for no reason. Of course, there are exceptions who are more concerned about building up their collection. Finding various random rares. And putting together all kinds of decks to play in alternative formats. However, for new users in general, building up card collection is not important at all. They do not remotely need to do that. Nobody ever needs to worry about accumulating more random cards. Or how their collection section is filling. The main concern for most users after getting their dual decks is the next step. How to go about building a proper deck. Mainly for Standard. And how Arena works in order to use economy effectively to get the most out of it. In order to obtain the specific cards you need for your deck.

Last, golden packs open for all legal stadard cards at the time of opening. Historic cards are opened later.
There is no better feeling than beating some pay to win dude in ranked with a bitch load of cosmetics Lmao
You are 100% right 😏
Is 'Phyrexia: All Will Be One' Mastery Pass worthy?
ish... If you are very far along the path, it is totally worth it! If you are ending on level 40 or lower, probably not.
I need your luck man 😁
😂😂😂 it was amazing luck... would never happen again, lol.
Versus i could buy 5000 worth of packs and be guaranteed to get at least 5 rares
Haven't seen any ONE packs in jump in. Has it started yet?
I don't think they have been released yet, but they will come.
whats the point of maxing out your colection
Mostly just to play a wide range of things... really just fun, lol.
Do you get gold pack progress when you buy the newest pack, or any standard legal pack?
Yes. Whichever the newest set it, you get gold packs!!
Do we own the cards ?
For jump in?
@@coffeestout for new players? Do we own the electronic cards? Are they NFT?
@@gamershideout89-ke2vn No they are not. They are just within the game.
@@gamershideout89-ke2vn Lmao what
@@Senny_V It's not worth the time then....
Way better use of gold is just buy packs rather than join draft. The best players with stacked decks are playing draft too. You'll get stomped.
That's not how draft works lol
So thats why thanks for that I wanted a goddamn 5000 coins for this shit.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
My like Was N 666 lmao

Bro what? All i got was a fucking aneurysm from trying to read that ramble brick lmao
