I was trying to figure out how/why you posted three videos in a single day but this explains it😂really awesome videos man! Watched all three in a row without realizing it. Earned a subscriber from me🫡
I definitely enjoyed the video and will be subscribing immediately. Hope to see more of your content
A Gruul deck to try is Ruric thar because it makes opponents lose life to cast non creature spells.

My friend's frist deck was a colorless artifact (Golem/Myr) back in Mirrodin block. It was so confusing because I used magic as a way to help me figure out new friend's personalities and she just went "Naw, guess."
Eldrazi should be its own color (opposed to green, tucked between blue and black)
"Green even has land destruction if youre a bad person" 😂
😇
it’s funny because there’s a green deck in pauper with land destruction that got a lot stronger with modern horizons 3 😂😂
I prefer "human garbage" thank you
My opponents: “No you can’t just spam the board with dinosaurs!”
Me: “Ha ha Gishath go brrrrr”
I love my green/black graveyard decks. Let's turn graveyards into playgrounds!

I like mine too until all of my friends start to tech my deck with grave exile 😢
I think blue has a very unfair reputation. I certainly wouldn't say blue is the color of other people not getting to play the game at all. I'd say if I had to name one, it'd probably be White in general because its board wipes often hit everyone, it exiles your best creature so you can never get it back for one mana and can do that like three times a game, and its stax and tax effects are many. On a grand scale though it really depends on the commander and the player. In theory, a blue player can stop people from using their best cards, but there's the whole thing of, they're one person with a limited number of resources, and sometimes they counterspell somebody else's Cyclonic Rift, which the whole board will thank you for except that one guy. They can't stop everyone from playing the game, but they tend to be incentivized to not allow somebody to break away from the pack, which isn't bad.
People who go "how dare you play blue" are usually just salty they didn't get to play their best card and immediately win. I see it as, would you rather someone use a counterspell or a board wipe? Blue only really has one good asymmetrical board wipe, and that's Cyclonic Rift, and that may be a great card, but it's also 7 mana worth of great card that you can't cheat, which is also vulnerable to a counterspell. Some of blue's better board clears are really good at stopping unstoppable players without annihilating everyone's board state, such as Filter Out bouncing all noncreature nonland permanents, which clears the treasure off the board and momentarily clears enchantments without taking them away forever, so it can be the least destructive color. Some of the most fun and creative commanders are at least partially blue.
Simic (Blue/Green) is another matter. But I won't get to that.
To blue's credit, blue is also the best color of evasive creatures that have flying or just straight up can't be blocked, and while they usually can't use strong creatures for that effect, it isn't off the table. Blue is a fun color even if you're not trying to ruin everybody's nice time. For a new player, the idea that you don't get to play your card this time might be frustrating, but once you get used to it, you start to admire the option to counter someone's spell before it becomes a problem rather than having to resort to a nuclear option that resets the board because we all had to just allow it to become a problem. Any color can become such a threat that they require that answer, and a savvy player knows how to construct a deck that has way more than one "oh shit it's that" card.
New players get really mad when you take away one card, experienced players understand they have 100 cards.
I almost entirely agree - my only caveat is that I think anyone complaining about any ONE color is usually just salty (unless a crazy meta is happening). In reality, every color can be just as bad as each other, but the way they make people feel bad just have different visibility.
@@OOMTG Yeah, I agree. :3c
Your under arrest for being the best magic player on this reality thank you so much you gave me tears of joy😭😭
If I had to compare it to another TCG, it’s like Runick in Yu-Gi-Oh. You use your cards strategically and generate a lot of value, but you’re not winning immediately. You have to fully play it out.
My mono white angel deck has a very unique win condition. When my life total reaches 2,000 my opponent usually quits. 😂
You are the reason for commander damage aha

i thought i would look down and see a good 10-15k subscribers. great video quality, keep it up :)
70 in one day is pretty good too aha thanks for the kind words!
I've only delved into the following:
Modern decks:
Mono Blue, Mono Black
Rakdos, Boros, Dimir, Gruul, Orzhov, Selesnya, Simic, Izzet
5 Colors
EDH:
Dimir
I've never looked into or had interest in uncolored decks or 3 or 4 color combination decks, though I don't mind trying them out in the future when I make the time for it. Looking at this now, I suppose Dimir is my favorite combination.
Great video man. Clearly a lot of work went into this, and for your third video, I find it hard to believe that you are new to RUclips! Very well done, and I can't wait to see what you upload next!!
New to this channel aha been on youtube for almost a decade overall :) I'm glad you enjoyed!
Do you have other channels? I'd love to check them out!
I run an anime channel called Axel Beats, I've done a pokemon one in the past and I am a writer and editor for several other channels as well :)
I was just looking for mtg lore channels and hearing your familiar voice is a pleasant surprise. Good stuff!
I like dabbling in all the colors, as well as colorless, and the color I usually go for is Green.
Green's Bread and Butter is obviously mana/land-resources and big stompy creatures; but it is also the Jack-of-All-Trades color as it has:
- Artifact removal
- Enchantment removal
- Creature removal
- Target protection
- Board protection
- Graveyard protection
- Token Generation
- Life Gain
- Card Draw
- Deck manipulation
- Graveyard manipulation
- Indirect damage to Players
The only thing Green seems to lack is counter spells.
My favorite Gruul commander is Thromok the Insatiable. The basic game plan is make a bunch of little guys early, then feed them to a big guy later and swing for game.
My brother if you aren't into Gruul you have to experience Faldorn before you leave this realm.
White's issue is that most of it's best unique mechanics have been removed from the game.
Protection is basically gone now and realistically, Ward should have replaced Protection instead of hexproof. Give them protection from a spell of a specific colour unless the caster pays extra mana instead of just generically letting them have protection from all spells.
Banding is gone and it was a really good, if confusing mechanic.
White is playing catch up with itself. The other colours are swapping the old mechanics so all colours can use them and the other 4 ae still getting new mechanics on top of it.
History of each planeswalker series? I feel like you have the lore knowledge for it and your video style is almost documentary style
Love this idea!
@@OOMTG great! Just don't make me wait too long for Sorin's 😁
I don't think it will be one for a hit just because there is so much overlap with this video. But I think my brother would fight me if I put it off too long 😂
Love your content man, keep up the good work
Dunno what guild i would be in, but it definitely has black
Yargle be like "Swing for face? No, swing for game."
Excellent video. I myself am a Jund player with my favorite decks being;
- Xira, the Golden Sting: My Insect kindred deck that is surprisingly powerful and consistent.
- Prossh, Skyraider of Kher: My original, classic Jund deck. It's still good and I haven't had to make too many changes to it.
- Ognis, the Dragon's Lash: Creatures with Haste and Treasure deck.
Also, in regards to Gruul, I think a lot of people don't realize how flexible Gruul is in commander. Roxanne, Starfall Savant is probably my favorite deck as of typing this. She just provides so much ramp and removal and I can control the board very well in the early game.
Just found your channel through this video :) liked, subscribed, and leaving a comment because supposedly it helps the algorithm?
Love the video and que'd the others after this one
New to MTG, I enjoyed every bit of it! Thank you for this! 🫶🏻
I hope you enjoy the game!
A fun little gruul deck i like to use is Omnath elemental tribal focusing on other creature with simular Landfall: "make a elemental" effect, swinging everything once i hit critical mass and blasphemous act to kill my own elementals to trigger omnath a million times
Soulknight music?
Also Selesnya all the way
Sling out destruction while growing your fenced in garden and feeding the mana grown to your armies.
WHAT WHEN?
For naya, I just started to get into commander with friends and my one friend is brand new to magic in general so I built a naya dino deck and built it around Huatli. At first I was afraid it was going to be shit, but he honestly had a really strong set of games and Huatli makes getting what you need done so easy. Crazy underrated
You’re probably one of my new favorite MTG content creators. Looking forward to hearing more of the lore videos! Appreciate the graph at the end too. #MarduPride
Thanks friend!
"and why people hate you for playing blue"
*immediately skips forward to see how OP describes green*
The correct understanding of the color pie is that everyone CAN be a bastard. Green is just stealthy about it
Every color combo I have a deck for (I try to keep a low number), we have the same favorite, Jon, Ivy, Marchesa. Overjoyed! I am definitely going to try the other commanders you suggested.
I think I’m blue, but I could be red. But I mostly play golgari. I also was really into white when I started playing. I’m nothing if not inconsistent.
Your videos are fantastic! Keep at it!
You know.. I'm gonna go on a little story telling about how I became who I am today as a Magic player.
Originally my brother in law got me into magic and the first deck I played was Kaalia the Vast. I loved what she can do and it was tons of fun. But overtime I saw what other commanders to do. My first ever deck I owned that I made with his help was Gishath. Because you know Dinosaurs.
But overtime as I experimented with different decks from Dinosaurs, Knights, Walls, etc. What I was ready to make my very own deck by myself without anyone's help. I made my very first WUBRG deck in the form of the Ur-Dragon. That's what got me into loving WUBRG. Sure it's not as creative or imaginative to have all 5 colors. But just the fact that your able to play as all of them rocks.
So after making tons of WUBRG decks from dragons, enchantments, politics, etc. My Magic group gave me a title. I was named the WUBRG Knight. and that's my story. Since I recently made a 5 color Ezio Assassin deck. And by made I mean wait until release since I pre-ordered the cards.
Tovolar, Dire Overlord Grool commander for red and green werewolves. Not meta, but a lot of fun!
hearing mr house and megatron in the same sentence in an mtg video caused me to lose it
It's a thing of chaos and beauty
1v1 commander is the only time i see boros have a lovely time
As far as Gruul commanders go if you want a fun one, Raggadragga is a really great one. He turns every creature with Mana abilities into big creatures and rewards you for using those creatures for big drops. Turning your Elvish Mystics into 3/3’s or even 10/10’s is absolutely hilarious.
"Suddenly underwater" explained
My top three colours are White, Red, and Blue. There are three main play styles that I enjoy most:
1 Get creatures down fast and stop my opponent’s creatures from blocking them to win (whether that be through removal, evasion, or pacifism effects)
2 The most oppressive control plan imaginable, I counter all my opponent’s spells kill or exile any creatures that make it through and my only win conditions are either having 1 or two creatures that also have some control attached to them or shuffling my graveyard back into my library as my opponent slowly draws their entire deck card by card unable to do anything
3 Use funky artifact and enchantment effects + ways to repeat them to do some funky sh*t and win
Three is my absolute favourite as reflected by my favourite card ever Restoration Specialist. But my top three decks with that game plan are:
1 Pacifism the deck from Ixalan Standard where I spam pacifisms onto all of my opponents creatures with Sram out to draw me tons of cards along side fun equipments and vehicles, my favourite of which being Conqueror’s Galleon
2 Mardufacts also from Ixalan Standard but probably could’ve been build far sooner that revolves around Pia’s Revolution and artifact recursion to force my opponents to either die or let me get back the cards I need to kill them
3 Induced Amnesia + Legion Conquistador/Battalion Foot soldier + Narset Parter of Veils + Enchantment Destruction and flicker effects. Basically either I get to exile my opponent entire hand permanently, or I get to constantly draw 7+ new cards and have access to my entire deck. This one is definitely the most funky
3good examples of how blue can mess with people.
Teferi,Master of time.
Jace, weilder of mysteries.
Lier deciple of the drowned.
Prossh is probably my favorite commander, his flexibility is what I love about him 😊
Ruby, Daring Tracker is a Gruul mana dork in the command zone. There's a playstyle of turn 1 land, turn 2 land Ruby, turn 3 any 4-mana ramp sorcery, and you're off to the races. She even gets bigger once you swing with beaters.
I'll definitely check it out!
Even though I don't play this game I think the color of pie is really cool. The two colors that relate to the most are blue and black because as far back as I can remember I wanted growth and i think the best and most important way to achieve growth is through knowledge because after all are intellectual capabilities have more potential for growth more return on your investment and are drastically more impressive than are physical capabilities.
When I first started playing I thought I would enjoy Dimir a lot but after playing for a hot minute I've really come to love Jund.
As far as fun Gruul commanders I have a nasty Anzrag, the Quake Mole deck that's a little notorious for knocking out a player early, and then immediately gets ganged up on before it happens a second time.
I'll have to check that out!
Green, Simic and colorless. But I mostly play colorless and green.
Green: "oh just let me swing my 20/20 for game... on turn 3"
Blue: "NO"
White: "oh what a nice board you have there... mind you if i destroy it completely?"
Black: "war crimes baby!!!!"
Red: "Now you see your Lifes... now you don't "
For gruel. If you like a medium power deck that is definitely strong but not overpowered. Try tovolar, dire overlord. It's a pretty funky wolf/werewolf deck. Give it a try!
I'll definitely check it out!
*whistles innocently in Sliver, Eldrazi and red blue dragon as I wonder what these will day about me*......well besides i'm an evil asshole
There is nothing wrong with a well placed land destination card. That's someone that plays Nic the deceiver and an erza Lord protector commander
This dude doesn't miss!
Gruul recommendation: Meria, Scholar of Antiquities
Makes for a very different artifact based play pattern you might really enjoy
I'm a green or white kind of person! I have a bit of blue but pls don't hate me😅
We respect green and white in this house
Fantastic video :))
I call no-black microsoft, cause it matches the colors of the windows logo pretty closley, with white being yellow
I do find it hard to necessarily have a the favourite colour, a lot of my decks tend to do different things I like through that colour. In a way, I keep ending up with 3 colours, which have a fun thing with a commander, but in practice, I can feel a bit spread out. So I have been trying to keep a fun thing to two colours.
One I managed to have was a Borod equipment deck using as many equipments that create their own creatures. I just though mechanics that allow equipment to go wide is kind of funny. It did have some weaknesses that it didn't ramp up enough, and my commander that helped draw through attacking became a quick target. But I sort of reluctantly added Dogmeat as the commander, which changed it to Naya and theoretically should give more ramp, not make my commander attacking the draw engine, and even some token doublers. Ironically the deck still does the fewest things in green despite it being the central colour.
And the only mono deck I currently have is, and it's current version is entirely ramp with Focus storing green mana after each turn. Still need to work it to do something with the ramp, preferably with instant effects, which I haven't got much of.
16:37 Or hear me out, you could cast Blasphemous Act, point at face and deal more damage *laughs in Brash Taunter and Stuffy Doll*
What a great video!
Thank you!
Always loved my black/blue discard deck..counter everything then go okay i have 4 Lilianas caress..4 megrims and 4 painful quandary...so you can play a spell but it'll be either lose 20 life or discard 4 cards and lose 64....my friends hated that deck..then I added a Bolas planswalker in there for laughs
Personally, I'm a Grixis man with the three going Blue, Black, Red in terms of most to least present. I can throw in a touch of white when needed, but I absolutely loath Green and everything it stands for (when it's more than a means which operates at the behest of Black and Blue).
gixis superiority! Definitely try out the marchesa modular deck if you get a chance, SUPER fun!
My favorite deck is my karn artifact deck. It easily becomes a massive threat early.
I play rakdos orzhov and mardu with all my favorite decks i build cant wait to see what you say
Excellent choices! All are super fun :D
your videos are great
Thanks friend!
Let's see where Azorius lands.
Iam in the Tableflip Color. If you play something like Phyrexian Oblitirator, Haughty Djinn, Land Destruction, Mill or Freecasting. The Table will your Face.
I get the land destruction, but the rest is kinda strange
Green and colorless have to be my favourites. Also Timur
The *real* questions are: Which guild are you? Which Shard/Wedge do you like?
I'm a biiig grixis guy, mardu is a close second tho
@@OOMTG Izzet is my fav guild... Jeskai is my fav Shard... Grixis is my second favorite.
I feel like Jeskai and Grixis are both awesome though... With Grixis being a little better vs control. And Jeskai being a little better vs aggro.
lol, i'm an illegal Naya Players then. I'm playing Samut, Voice of Dissent as a Legend deck. Pretty much everything is legendary inside, and it's really efficient.
You get the pass for now, but you're on thin ice 👀
@@OOMTG 🤣. To be honest, I would gladly play Dinosaurs, but it would make 3 Dino players in my group so :/ I had to be inventive
Lmaoo more than fair
Gotta love phyrexian obliterater
I know he's not the BEST card, but every 10th time you play him they don't have an answer and it's beautiful
Well it's pretty cool!
For Temur i recomand you Magus Lucea Kane: big hydras/tyranids and x spells 😍
My favourite combinations are Azorius and Mardu or Jeskai wich is crazy since i don't have commanders in those colours lol waiting for that gavi to arrive😂
I love black but I played green/ eldrazi 😂.
As a simic player I am not fair am here to laundry mana though legal means
Under 1k subscribers? I've never been this early for a blow up 😭
Mentioning Jon Irenicus reminded me of the Shuffle Up and Play video with him as one of the commanders, maybe the funniest magic video I have ever watched.
I am and always will be a Gruul Girly, but it's interesting to see why others enjoy their colour/colour combos
That video was actually why I built him! Its SUCH a fun and chaotic deck
Wonderful
black is my fav color
Green Blue ftw
ive build Zedruu the Greathearted its irenicus but with 3 coulours some of the absolute garbage that exists in blue is so funny
theres a 4 mana enchantment that just says "your creatures dont deal any combat damage"
i recomend savvela ice shaper or fladron (thw make wolf one) for grule
Beautiful
@@OOMTG my personal favorate trick in the deck is 9 lives, not only can i give someone a 9 lives and sit there as they realise im in blue and i can kill them any time i want but sometimes it can be a way i win (havent yet) by finding solemnty and going "lol i cant die"
Mono-red Artifact decks crying in the corner

@@OOMTG for sure, definitely add that little flair whenever you find just the right variation for an EDH deck. Like Migration Path in a Jolrael, Mwonvuli Recluse deck.
I like 1+1+1=7, what color am I?
Green or red for sure
Here before 200 subs
Appreciate the early support!
For the algorithm🤟🏻
Doin God's work 🙏
but i hate the color pie, i don't want some abilities to be locked to one specific color, i want all the colors to do all the cool things.
also ym a Rakdos player.
also in a fight your enemy's color:
-white is the strongest, most frustrating, and worst color. (f...... enchantments)
-Blue is easy.
-Black and red are balanced.
-Green helps you beat himself.
For 4 color combinations they are represented by the absents of the specific color
If all the colors do all the things theres no need to have colors in the first place, limitations breed creativity, which is good
@@soleo2783 Yes but still I don't like it :(
Wait other players can cast spells and have fun?!? No problem 60 counters baral is here (violence is the only option)
Simic “fun”

I can't tell if the skimming over of Blue's notorious 'Big useless blue creature' problem is a genuine oversight, or a cunning meta commentary about how useless and forgettable all those stupid fishies are.
They are as useless as they are beloved. One day leviathan will be good I swear
love the video, hate the majority of commander suggestions. we really dont need more people only picking the top of the list commanders in every color combo, fuck that.
why do u even mention u like mid/low power, then proceed to mention many of the strongest, most overused of commanders, come on
if youre gonna mention cedh choices like narset or super high power/synergy bs like muldrotha or markov u might as well add ur dragon, kalia, atraxa and the others i can only assume you told yourself deliberately to leave out.
I personally put a 80 dollar limit on almost all my commander decks and avoid infinites. Even if I'm playing with good commanders, the decks are intentionally made weak.
Also, I think between the 32 colors I suggested a solid mix of high and low power commanders overall if I'm bring honest.
Glad you liked the video though 🤙
I know why they hate me its cause they dont understand the game. They mess up even simple things, like the order of the colors.
Syr Ginger is a girl cookie :/
Yea I noticed when I rewatched that I messed that up 🙃
"But this choice also tells everyone at the table what they need to know about you as a person"
That statement is actually scary delusional... this is a schizophrenic take on the color pie.
Yea no kidding. If only it was hyperbolic.
