See how to create voluminous flat iron and wand curls:
    • Flat Iron Curls
    • How to Create Volumino...
In this tutorial I use my tried and true silk roller wrap method to straighten my hair, this time using Aveda’s Smooth Infusion line.
    Featured products:
    Aveda Smooth Infusion Shampoo
    Aveda Smooth Infusion Conditioner
    Aveda Smooth Infusion Style-Prep Smoother
All of the products in the Smooth Infusion line contain babassu oil, often referred to as coconut oil’s cousin, it is a lighter-weight emollient that improves elasticity with extreme penetrating moisture. Additionally, they are all plant-infused with blends of organic aloe, maize and guar bean that all work to create a smooth surface and prevent frizzing on straight styles. This line is specifically designed for straightening wavy, curly and coily textures, and is safe for color-treated hair. Because the ingredients are mostly plant-derived, they do not permanently modify the hair’s natural bonds, or curl pattern. Each product is formulated with tapioca starch and maize, which help block humidity and smooth the cuticle to reduce frizz.
    Additional products and tools:
    Aveda Brilliant Emollient Finishing Gloss
Thermal Hair Care Hot Head Deep Conditioning Cap
ApHogee Keratin and Green Tea Restructurizer
    Motions Foaming Wrap Lotion
    Chi Deep Brilliance Reflect
FHI Platform Series 1 Inch Ceramic Flatiron
    Silk scarf
    Total time:
Total time for everything was about three and a half hours. Sounds like a lot, but I only do this maybe two or three times a year, and this is the only time I’ve done it this year, so to me it’s totally worth it since my hair will be voluminous, bouncy-straight for at least a week or more if I choose!
    Keep and care:
At you can wrap your hair around your head and secure with a silk scarf, or if you are wearing flat iron curls, secure sections of hair in large bantu knots and cover with a satin bonnet.

I will jst look at your fab videos for inspiration & hopefully detangling won't be so bad the 2nd time around! ☺

This is such a good technique because it is showing a lot of women how to achieve the same results in a different method! Not everyone can just straighten their hair right out of the shower. +Shakiah Taylor I have 3c/4a hair, it's totally different from Mo's, but I did exactly what she did with a few different products and my hair came out very sleek with a lot of bounce. Way better than when I used a blow dryer which always gave me really stiff results.

I tried this tonight with products I had on hand. Let me start with that I think we can agree that Mo makes these processes seem effortless. My first roller set and I must say it came out better than anticipated. I could tell where the frizz was going to be because there were a few rollers that were challenging to get in. LOL. an hour under the dryer. Used Creme of Nature Argan Oil Smooth Defense heat protector + Saran Wrap. That definitely smoothed out some of the frizz from my not-so-smooth roller set. Once I get better with the roller set I will stop there. BUT this time I had to hit it with the flat iron. Will be curious to see how this last vs blow drying. I definitely appreciate the lower amt of direct heat using this method. Will be even better once I get better with the roller set. Love your tutorials and tips, Mo!

Hi Mo! I found your channel last night as I had become frustrated with my 4c, 8 month post relaxer transitioning hair! I'm sitting under the dryer using your roller wrap method as we speak! I pray it turns out well! I have two natutal daughters (and one daughter on the way), so I hope to be able to use this on their hair. Their hair textures are less course than mine, but I notice that the more often I straighten their hair, the less breakage they have! God bless!
