Mazda CX-5 Review: How Different Between Low & High Spec?

- As similar as they look, they are actually pretty different.
Let's find out the differences between the two most affordable/common variant of the Mazda CX-5s, the low (GL) and the high (GLS) spec.
Both variants are powered by the same 2.0L DOHC I4 SkyActiv-G petrol engine, driving the front wheels through a 6-speed SkyActiv-Drive automatic transmission, producing 162hp and 213Nm.
The Mazda CX-5 is larger than the CX-3 and CX-30, but smaller than the CX-8 and CX-9 in comparison.
The paint colour of the two CX-5s featured here are finished in: Deep Crystal Blue & Meteor Grey. Addition charges would be applied if you opt for Soul Red Crystal or Snowflake White Pearl as they are special colours.

i reside in North America, that key is for 2020 and lower model, I used that have that key on my CX-5 2018 sport model I currently have a 2021 the key is different is a touring sv package ( which is the same GLS) engine is different is a 2.5 187 hp and. 186 torque. The screen in 10.25 inches I 💕 your videos. I really wanted the CX-30 but the lease special on cx5 was impossible to beat Thank you so much I really like your cars videos. In the GLS you have the USB charger in the back arm rest.

hi, can you make a quick video to compare the color of meteor grey and machine grey and deep crystal blue? planning to get the machine grey but see some grey on the road looks quite dull, not sure are those meteor or machine grey. thinking whether should change to deep crystal blue or snowflake white(but worry the water lines underneath the side mirror, door handle and tail light very obvious). thank you!

The cx5 is ckd which makes the pricing very competitive compared to the cx3/cx30 which are cbu only and have a huge price premium over segment rivals. But with personal experience the 5 year labour and part free service and warranty is worth the extra cost. Mazda glenmarie also has a very nice sc to wait in + Mazda's mobile service/rescue service is top notch which offsets any additional cost as well

Yup! The Grey CX-5 featured in the video is meteor grey. I’ve actually seen machine grey next to meteor grey, i got to say machine grey looks nicer as it has a more shiny bare metal look.
Can the mid spec upgrade to leather seat? If so, how much?
Yes you can because I’ve seen people done it before, but price wise I’m not too sure sorry!

Both is good for their own reasons, it depends on which you prefer, practical and spacious for the CX-5, or sporty looks and premium interior for the CX-30 👍🏻

2.5 engine is definitely worth it, makes the car so much more powerful 👍🏻

U.S. market after 2013 gets 2.5L w/ optional turbo, which isn't needed because the regular engine is plenty peppy!
My 2.0L only puts out 156 HP, definitely underpowered! I use the slapshift to get into, or stay in, lower gears for better power.
We do have 2.5L NA 2.5L turbo and 2.2 diesel
What do you think about mazda CX5 2021 doesn't come with the sunroof & moonroof ?
Hi Ainaa, thanks for asking! Personally i feel the sunroof feature is more of an extra and not something necessary as most people seldom use it. So i feel it’s fine that it doesn’t come with one 👍🏻👍🏻

That’s a really good question! Personally I would say the CX-5 is better in terms of its reliability, driving and design wise. Not too familiar with Peugeot but i heard a lot of news of the reliability issue with the new 3008 😱 but that car has a cool factor as you dont see them tons on the road as compared to the CX-5, and the interior is lovely as well!

Hi Gabriel, I don’t think so. Usually people would replace the entire headlight assembly to the ones with DRL from the high spec

I would personally go for the CX-5 because it feels more premium. Not a fan of Honda interior and its CVT gearbox 🥲
CRV is better for a larger family (>2 kids) because of its larger cargo area. CX-5 is better if you are performance-oriented and like a car with little body roll and peppy acceleration.

The GLS CX-5 I’ve featured does not come with powered tailgate, though the latest one with high spec does!

Please start reviewing base models, most of the ppl would lease or finance base models not premiums. Terrible vehicle, 2,5 makes a lot of noise, road noise, terrible MPG, 6 speed auto trans. small front seats, small driver space (reduce space between your food and gas pedal with brick pedal-this is serious safety issue) , front arm rest way behind incl. cup holders, ac controls are way down and unsafe to control the ac when you driving, side mirrors vibrate with 70 mph, if you have premium pack there is TWO fuel indicators next to each other lol, heated steering is only 1/4 of it, line keep assist doesn't work 90% of the time in the Citi or suburbans driving, terible on long drive, there is good things: great automated head lights (if equipped) automated wipers, heads up display (if I equipped) blin spot monitoring, ventilated front seats (if equipped) I wouldn't recommend this vehicle, for that money there is another better options on the market.
What other options
For your oppinion cross/cx5/hrv..which one is better...im 50/50 now which one i want to buy...
