“Old-style Godzilla films are everywhere but also nowhere” is shockingly accurate. If Pluto TV didn’t launch basically every pre-Reiwa G-series film besides, like, 2, I guarantee not nearly as many people would’ve been able to watch them.
It's really easy to get into Toku. Like Marcosatsu said. "Watch the ones you think its cool." That's it. Because each series is like Zelda, they are self-contained stories and often would just have little nods of continuity but nothing too major that it affects the entirety of the show.
I never understood why anyone would say it's hard to get into toku, just find them on any streaming (legal or not) site that covers asian dramas, read the description, and pick one. Because that's what they are, tv dramas. It's no harder to find than Law and Order seasons or old Star Trek episodes online, as long as it's been subbed in english(which it very likely will if it's ever aired in SEA countries). In fact, I would say that western comics are a much deeper rabbit hole to dive into, which has an even higher bar of entry due to having a much more complicated production history.
Being able to show my friends outside of the toku fandom Ultraman Blazar was such a cool experience because all I had to do with link it on RUclips. If I want to show the same friends something like Tokusou Robo Janperson or even something as recent as the latest episode of the latest Rider season, I'd have to make a whole 10 step module on how to get that working. What you said at 08:53 doesn't make things easier by any means but if a variety of shows were accessible, this probably wouldn't be as much of a problem. Speaking of variety, I seriously can't wait until tokusatsu becomes more mainstream for that reason, as it would mean the more out there and "nicher" titles can get official releases.
I wish more companies just do what Tsuburaya does with Ultraman. Simulcast the latest seasons, start dubbing & give a license to a majority of the franchise to one distributer for ease of access so it not just scrounging around multiple different companies for your shows. 2:03 As for why Tsuburaya gave a out bulk deal that gave Mill Creek who later gave it to Shout Factory the rights to every show & movie legally available they had at the time circa 2018. Toei on the other hand demands each series indivdiually which is why stuff like how Shout Factory has Zero-One but Discotek has Black.
Having only started watching Tokusatsu series this year it really does give me the same feeling and experience you would get as an anime fan back in the early 2000s. It's true that anime was not cool or popular back then so it was hard to get your hands new unseen stuff. That's why I don't mind having to track down and dig through the internet to learn more about Tokusatsu shows. It's kind of nostalgic.
Tokusatsu needs more recognition. People will shit on it for selling toys, but it’s better than a subpar advertisement for a manga that you guys refuse to read for some reason, except for Demon Slayer the show you guys hate. In all seriousness, I’ve only seen Shin Kamen Rider and the first few episodes of the 70s original, but I need to get on that. Unfortunately, I have to catch up on other anime that aren’t airing this season, because this season is mid, but I’ll get to it eventually on Tubi, even if it has ads.

I started Japanese Toku with Kamen Rider Build and it was easily the best introduction I could've had looking back in hindsight I recently started Gaim and dropped it after a few episodes because it was simply too goofy too me, if I started with that I think I would've never really given Kamen Rider a proper chance. I think this video is going to make me try again tho, hearing the creator made Madoka Magica and that it gets way better later on has already given me tons of hope
Gaim stops being goofy early in the first quarter, but I still won't blame you for dropping it as it becomes a giant clusterfuck instead. It has its moments, but I will never understand the rabid fanboyism that makes some people HBO soypog all over it. Just so you know, Toei always had the name “Masked Rider” since the 1970s. You know, back when they were marketing the series internationally. And no, Saban did *NOT* invent that name! People have got to stop thinking that the title “Masked Rider” was a Saban invention. (And mind you, I already hate the Saban series for many different reasons!) True, franchise co-creator Toru Hirayama (the Stan Lee of Japan) preferred “Kamen Rider,” because he thought it sounded more “exotic” to foreigners. Half the reason why toku is hard to get into is Toei's fault. For some reason, they projectile vomit at the idea of subbing their stuff into english, even though they do it for their animated stuff just fine. If Pretty Cure can be subbed consistently, and it is barely a thing in America, the stuff the POWER RANGERS came from should be on the table.

Listening Comprehension is part of the communication skills such as the development of reading and writing comprehension. Listening Comprehension has the multiple processes of comprehension in language when it is understood, interpreted and spoken. This communication skill is connected to cognitive learning as it works with the development of memory, attention, vocabulary, grammar and comprehension monitoring. Listening then is the interpretation of spoken language and this includes the recognition of discourses of sounds, the understanding of the meaning of individual words or the understanding of the syntax of sentences that may arise in a dialogue or discourse. The importance of recognising context in listening means that the person can relate what they hear to the real world in which they live as they can symbolically recognise concepts with language and link them together in order to understand what they hear and give it a meaningful meaning.
