I definitely agree that a lot of anime fans would enjoy toku if they gave it a chance. There's a lot more to these shows than just being " Power Rangers rippoffs",as some people say. Each show is unique and has their fair share great characters and stories, just like any anime would.Keep up the good work Falcon and welcome to the toku community.
Once Here Power Rangers isn't a ripoff. It's called American adaptation otherwise Japan wouldn't be supporting Power Rangers and think it's better than Super Sentai
Tentacle Giant Yeah definitely looking forward to talking more about the franchise! After my Kamen Rider experience video plan on recommending and reviewing W and Ex-Aid as well as J and ZO
Ah, I enjoyed ZO, it was cool and used stop motion. And W is hard boiled fun. I am still kinda new since I watch shows slowly but it is cool there are going to be more Toku yuoutube videos around atleast.
I wanted to get my friend into it. They tried to watch, they were gonna give it a second chance. But changed there mind. Ah well. I've been watching since 2011 with Kamen Rider Fourze! it was fun :) still waiting for some of the other Super Sentai and Kamen Rider series to be fully subbed. Still need to watch Ultraman as well. Welcome my friend!! :D
Tokusatsu is personnaly something I like watching with friends and have a good laugh, but I can almost never take them seriously and would definitly be bored watching it alone.
I highly recommend Chouseishin Gransazer. It's got a Super Sentai feel but the mech battles and stuff are wildly better than anything I've seen in Sentai.
Ultraman: For people who loves cheesy stuff (Big Smoke is an example) Gokaiger: For people who want to get in Super Sentai or hate Super Megaforce W/Double and Drive: For people who loves detective stories Kabuto: For people who loves alien invasion stories. Gaim: Not suitable for starting into Kamen Rider, but suitable if you like Dark shows. These are the Toku shows i have watched (of course there are others, but i have to watch 7 episodes or more to recommend)
yeah toku started with godzilla and thne recently got into them with kamen rider black and kuuga and now starting with some ultraman shows on crunchyroll.
Same here, same year, probably replacing Western Animation in terms of obsession. Fun Fact: When i got obssesed with both of these, the obsession started with a mystery show (one was a cartoon that ended last year... BADLY and one was a toku show that is possibly alongside OOO and Ex-Aid the least hated Heisei Rider, bonus points if you guess which series i was talking about)
Technically I have a big 3 Which are Power Rangers, Super Sentai, and Kamen Rider. I know PR is a US thing and not a Japan thing per say. But, regardless it still should count. I'm more of a Sentai and PR fan myself. I don't like too many KRs nor do I really want to get into them. I've seen Ryuki (Dragon Knight), Ex-Aid, and Build. I plan on seeing maybe Ryuki, and probably Drive + Fourze as well. Everything else kind of looks cool but isn't what I'm looking for. As for Sentai, I've seen all of them as PR. Sentai as it's own though. I've only seen Dekaranger, Magiranger, Go-Busters, ToQger (my least favorite Sentai), Ninninger, Zyuohger, and Kyuranger. I've listened to Sentai openings so many times now. I've got MMPR - PR 2019 down in terms of their Sentai origins. In other words, give a PR season and I can tell you it's Sentai as well as a few facts or differences depending on the season. I don't like kaiju movies. I feel they're repetitive. So, I haven't touched it at all. Metal Heroes I might get into eventually. Ultraman I'm very iffy on atm. So, if do ever get into it. It will be towards the bottom of my To Watch List.
Personally... I would love to star in a nonJapanese Tokusatsu... and stomp around a city. MWAH HAHAHAHAHA! Then wrassle with somebody in the city! Likely either a Godzilla or a Giant Robot... likely both.
SHINJI! YOU WON'T GET INSIDE THE GIANT ROBOT! SO NOW! YOU HAVE TO GET INSIDE ME! AND MY STOMACH! *voice that is totally not me mimicking another voice* oooh no... nooo waaaaah... this is awful I HOPE NOT! IF YOU TASTE AWFUL I SHALL HAVE TO EAT ALL THESE OTHER TINY MORSELS TO MAKE THINGS TASTE BETTER! IF YOU TASTE BAD THE DEATHS OF ALL THESE PEOPLE WILL BE YOUR FAULT *my mimmick voice* noooo! Woe is me! Aaaaah!
hmmm haven't really seen a whole lot to really make criticisms of it overall, however in terms of kamen rider I think alot of the newer shows have really strayed from the "rider" aspect of kamen rider and overloads on transformations
I use kissasian for like 99% of my tokusatsu viewing however certain sites like Jatoku or Gogo drama have certain series I can't find on kiss or have a slighty faster release than kiss
Kamen Rider is probably shittiest out of the big 3 since, from a tokusatsu perspective, its CGI and practical effects are shit and not to mention the terrible writing ( refer to Zi-O). Sentai is a lot better than KR imo because it doesnt take itself too seriously like KR. KR is just downhill when it takes its shitty writing seriously. Ultraman, imo, is the best because of its AMAZING CG and practical effects, which is the soul of a toku series. Not only that but the stories are actually consistently good, if not, decent.
I am not in Tokusatsu any more because today series are 100% shit, but i love old classics like black kamen rider (the ONLY TRUE KAMEN RIDER) and jiban (the japanesse robocop)
Sort of IF you count Dragon Knight, Saban's Masked Rider and VR Troopers also managed to air here, pretty outrageous considering that we got the japanese version of both series years before. Black/BlackRX aired here on late 80's and early 90's, tokusatsu was pretty mainstream here during that period, but decades passed and nowadays we basically have three types of fans: 1- Casuals that fonderly remember those days, but have no interest about watching more (which is fair); 2- Hardcore fans that still watch modern tokus via subs and streaming/downloading and still enjoy it; 3- Hardcore fans that ONLY care about old stuff (aka showa and pre-2000), they keep saying that everything new is bad and not """true""", they can only enjoy what they get nostalgia from and this blinds them. A lot of heisei stuff (if not the majority) is truly better than showa, I don't care if someone considers Black/RX their favorite Kamen Rider, what is beyond stupid is people that think anything post-2000 is bad by default, they sometimes try to argue that they "tried watching" but in reality they never gave modern series a fair chance, they disliked it from the start because deep down they have an artificial mental barrier that prevents them from enjoying it, or simply because they are too lazy to invest time in new stuff and like to make excuses.
Tokusatsu is a universe just brimming with creativity. Glad to see more fans expand beyond just Ultraman and Godzilla.
I definitely agree that a lot of anime fans would enjoy toku if they gave it a chance. Ian Smith and it’s not even a ripoff lol Power Ranger IS the ripoff
Once Here Power Rangers isn't a ripoff. It's called American adaptation otherwise Japan wouldn't be supporting Power Rangers and think it's better than Super Sentai
Matthew Cline
I get your point, but who excactly said that Power Rangers is better than Super Sentai? Because in most cases.. it's not.
@@MJCline it's an injokes among the community. It's even made fun of in akibaranger
I think most anime fans "avoid" tokusatsu because it's a "kid show".
I’m loving that Ultraman Nexus music in the background
Hell yeah! Toku is the shit. Mah boi Kamen Rider is still my fav of the big 3.
Tentacle Giant Yeah definitely looking forward to talking more about the franchise! After my Kamen Rider experience video plan on recommending and reviewing W and Ex-Aid as well as J and ZO

Time for another phase.

I've been a Tokusatsu fan ever since I watched Power Rangers and Godzilla. With Godzilla he rocks
I got into Toku through Kamen Rider Dragon Knight.
Try the Chouseishin Series by Toho, the same company behind Godzilla. It's essentially Godzilla meets Super Sentai.
I highly recommend Chouseishin Gransazer. It's got a Super Sentai feel but the mech battles and stuff are wildly better than anything I've seen in Sentai.
Happy to see you join the community!
I'm a fan of tokusatsu too.
Best Franchise!
Ultraman: For people who loves cheesy stuff (Big Smoke is an example)

Yes! Toku is totally Live Action Anime! I've been saying that for years!
A fellow Tokusatsu fan! Welcome to this crazy rabbit hole and it is awesome!
ULTRAAAAMAAAAANNN
yeah toku started with godzilla and thne recently got into them with kamen rider black and kuuga and now starting with some ultraman shows on crunchyroll.
So cool
Am i the only one who like it because of the drama? Lol
Look at toqger for example, the villain had this kind of kingdom and family drama
Good to see a new fan.
0:49 - not gonna lie, want to know more about this...
Same here, same year, probably replacing Western Animation in terms of obsession.

Scooby doo mystery incorporated and Kamen Rider w

I'm big fan of Tokusastu since the beginning
My favorite of the top three is always gonna be Ultraman.

Add Godzilla and Gamera into the thumbnail
Welcome aboard my new goku brother!
I'm a die hard fan of Tokusastu
I'm looking forward for Godzilla franchise and kamen rider and also ultraman.
But Godzilla(or kaiju) is the main attention for me
I just finished Ninja Sentai Kakuranger. That's the first sentai I've finished. Which should I watch next?
Just pick a cool looking suit
Was your name mr falcon before you started watching toku? He's basically a kamen rider/ sentai.
Do the introduction to Super Sentai please.
Who is that at 5:25 / 6:26?
Personally... I would love to star in a nonJapanese Tokusatsu... and stomp around a city. MWAH HAHAHAHAHA! Then wrassle with somebody in the city! Likely either a Godzilla or a Giant Robot... likely both.

Where do you watch Tokusatsu?
What about the things you hate about Tokusatsu?
mostly on kissasian
hmmm haven't really seen a whole lot to really make criticisms of it overall, however in terms of kamen rider I think alot of the newer shows have really strayed from the "rider" aspect of kamen rider and overloads on transformations
Mostly Kissasain?

Stop! Why is there a golden bat!
Does Tokusatsu have Hentai?
Can't say I've found anything but pretty sure it exists
MrFalconnPunch996 There aren't really any hentai, but there is a whole genres worth of " Tokusatsu Super Heroine " themed adult films.
There are some bootleg pornos but other than that...
Hentai kamen and Kekko kamen. I think.
Welcome to the toku community. It's full of horrible people, but hopefully you can help spur on the good ones.

Typical of a brazillian Manchete's widow.

Meanwhile Kamen Rider Kuuga, W, OOO, Gaim, and Zero One are better than Black imo
