Finally somebody that says it as it is! I tried to bake my 2017 Audi A3 headlights in the oven for over half an hour at 150 degrees celsius but the glue was still hard as a rock. I even had a hard time with spreader pliers and all these RUclips guys be opening them up like sandwiches with no effort at all lmao
@@mohlomphehiIt definitely helps but it’s better to have the whole thing heated up evenly so it’s easier to split it open. A combo oven+heat gun should work but you should be careful not to melt the plastic. It happens quicker that you’d think 🥲
I just had the same issue with Audi A3 headlight. Cooker 3 times didn't touch it, heat gun literally to point of melting surround of light then brute force it out. Top surround quite straight the bottom I messed up now trying to put outline, surround straight and get all the old sealant out. Was 10 year old original Audi sealant. When got a bot put had to literally hear with heat gun to burning point to get to start to melt, melting point of headlight surround was way less so was really tough. Seen people mention 'Permaseal' so wonder of thats what Audi have used. Absolute nightmare job

Yeah that Audi headlight glue is no joke. Cutting was the only way lol
Maybe because old headlights use butyl tape. And new ones use something else...
What about using a heat gun?

HOW did you get the channels so clear of left over sealant before putting new in?
Can you do vedio for Audi A3 R3 Headlamp cover removing
Mine had no screws or clips to hold it just horrific glue and 4 tiny staples
Hello how do I get in contact with you? I have a 2006 that I would love some new headlights for!
What brand paint did you use?
Audi could have put a gasket and some clamps or screws to secure the headlamps. But they had to use glue from hell.
very swaggy
