The 2002 Kings were the best they’ll ever be and had to rebuild for over 2 decades just to get a small taste of that talent. I hope the Kings make at least one finals appearance with the crew they got now.
It's tragic Uncle Reg never got his ring. Even worse was the best chance he had was blown up by Artest loosing his cool. That team was steamrolling people. To this day you can hear the regret in J.O.'s voice when asked about it. Jermaine is a stand up guy that we in Indy were lucky to have. It's also tragic this isn't the most viewed basketball channel. In my opinion you have the best content and it's not just rehashed topics. Awesome job.
Fun fact: Reggie Miller was asked to come out of retirement by the Celtics the first year they had Pierce + Garnett + Ray Allen. Reggie declined the offer, and, well, you know the rest....
@@aminurrrr0621 and he declined because he was asked by Danny like 2 weeks before training camp. It was like 2 years after he retired and he had done little to no basketball after retiring so it would be so difficult especially with his aging body to get in shape. The jazz in 97 and 98 were insane I love dream team I just think it still funny that the majority of the dream team played Mj in finals through his 2 three peats
Those Jazz teams were the product of a weekend Western Conference. An aging Barkley left Phoenix, join an also against Hakeem and Clyde in Houston who just wasn’t the same team that won in 94/95, David Robinson was “not able to get over the hump” in 97 and injured all through 98(leading to getting Duncan), Shaq was still essentially solo at the time with Kobe being a virtually non consequential rookie in 97 and the 6th man in 98(although Nick Van Exel and Eddie Jones were both really good at this time) and as a result weren’t quite ready for prime time, Shawn Kemp bounced on Gary Payton and the Sonics because of a mix of George Karl being an asshole and the organization giving an undeserving Jim McElwein the bag and continue paying Kemp well below his worth. This Jazz teams were led by guys past their athletic prime that when they were in that prime, couldn’t beat he Lakers and Blazers and Suns of the early 90’s. Most overrated duo/finals teams of my lifetime.
@@dontatme1290 Yes and no. Malone was also MVP and 2nd in MVP those years (won again in 99), and him and John had TONS of Playoff experience. Don’t forget how relatively close they were to winning against MJ
if we're going off just 1 season, I'd say the most unlucky team is the 2018 (0-27) Rockets are the most unlucky; CP3 injury, horrible reffing, and of course the statistical anomaly of missing all those 3's "in a row" (in quotes because of the threes that got waived off by the refs). Of course the Big 3 Nets of 2021 are up there as well, one inch away going by a multi-year stretch as this video is, if I could extend it back to the 60's I'd say the 60's Lakers with Baylor and West; 1961, lost games 6 and 7 of the conference finals by a combined 3 points; 1962, lost game 7 of the finals by 3 points; 1966, lost game 7 of the finals by 2 points; 1969, lost game 7 of the finals by 2 points (this is the series where Jerry West won FMVP despite losing); and in 1970 they lost in 7 games in the finals once again. Obviously there were less teams in the league at the time, meaning more chances to win in later rounds in heartbreaking fashion, but I think a lot of people agree that Jerry West is probably the most unlucky player of all time when it comes to championships also kinda random but I'm predicting that the Timberwolves will be considered the most unlucky team of the 2020's when it's all said and done; 2022, blew double-digit fourth quarter leads to the Grizzlies in games 3, 5, and 6 and lost in 6 games (don't think they *really* had a chance against the Warriors in the next round but considering how well the Grizzlies did against GSW it's at least worth considering); 2023, lost KAT for most of the season and therefore had to face the eventual champion Nuggets in round 1, where they put up as good of a fight as anyone did that season; 2024, got revenge on the Nuggets only to inexplicably lose WCF games 1 and 2 at home by a combined 4 points, eventually going down 3-0 and losing in 5 games
The NBA screwed them when they suspended Amar'e for leaving the bench during that brawl that Robert Horry instigated, for game 5 in 2007 (Spurs would narrowly win game 5 in Phoenix before closing the series out at home). I think if they got past the Spurs, they would've done the same to the Kirilenko Jazz in the WCF and the SUNS would've swept young LeBron in the finals, not the Spurs.
The pacers were not the only team to push Jordan's Bulls to 7 games. The Pistons did it in 1989 and 1990, and the 1992 Knicks went 7 games in the ECSF. Don't spread misinformation. The Bulls never played 7 games in the Finals, not in any other round.
@@elboogie2324 I get your point but the only thing I would say is that they hadn't broken through and weren't "The Bulls" in '90. It was more that they pushed the pistons to 7 games rather than vice versa.
92 Knicks are the one worth mentioning, since they actually went on and won those years. I don’t even know if they’d win in 89 or 90 if they made the Finals, which ofc they didn’t
You should add the 96-2001 heat they had the 2nd best record in the east in 97,98, and 2000 was a 1 seed in 99 and a 3 seed in 01 and only made it too 1 conference finals in this 5 years because of the 97 brawl that had Knicks top 4 players suspended

The NBA is fixed. Has nothing to do with fair. The narrative has a way that they want the NBA to go and thats how its going. The NBA is fixed its been like that even way back in Jordan's era. Just like LeBron today everything he does is fixed. Thats what happens when you sell your soul to the devil. Reggie Miller deserved a ring. He’s the original Stephen Curry. Honestly Miller is better. I get Curry takes a lot more half court three point shots than Reggie Miller. But Reggie Miller was much more consistent. He was a robot that never missed. Curry misses so much!
This is just objectively wrong your clearly speaking from a bias standpoint curry has made more threes all time takes more difficult shots at a higher volume with a better percentage tf are you talking about bro jus say u like Reggie more instead of lying 💀
Sorry for the over the top distortion in the video but it's the only way I could get around copyright

Mavs would be right here on this list for the 2000s teams if it weren't for Dirk going crazy in 2011.
