I almost agree with everything you say but that 2022 warriors rings legit. That Celtics team just won. And I truly think that was Steph’s best performance.
The reason the Spurs are considered a dynasty from 1999-2014 isn’t just because they had Tim Duncan and Coach Pop but also because they never had a losing season through out that stretch. They never missed the playoffs and had 50 wins or above every season, so they were considered a title contender every year that Duncan played on the Spurs.
Honestly I think Larry Bird’s Celtics should be considered a dynasty. They won three chips in six years, while making the finals every year between 84-87 in a stacked East. To me that’s plenty of domination to be considered a dynasty. In fact that’s what made the Lakers and Celtics rivalry of the 1980s so unique, it was not just two teams, but two DYNASTIES going at each others throats fighting for legacy.
Another analogy to the DWade Heat “dynasty” would be that Kobe (and DFish) were on the 00-02 Championship teams as well as 09-10, so it would be like saying the Lakers were a Dynasty from 2000-2010. Which is beyond just a stretch.
In my opinion, a Dynasty should probably at least have a Back-to-Back in their run. Also, one could argue that Lebron James was a one-man Dynasty even though he was on 3 different teams: -Back-to-Back Chips (12,13) -3 Chips in 5 years (12,13,16) - same as Spurs -4 Chips in 9 years (12,13,16,20) -8 Straight Finals (11-18) -9 Finals in 10 years (11-18,20) -10 Finals in 14 years (07,11-18,20)

The NBA is the only sport i know of where choking seems to be regarded worse than just straight up getting dominated. IMO the Lakers losing to the Pistons while not getting close is worse than the Warriors losing out by one game to LEBRON.
I feel like it’s also important to point out the Lakers game 6 vs the kings, where kings were up 3-2. The refs proceeded to send lakers to the line 27 times to Kings 9 in the 4th quarter alone, with Tim Donaghy admitting that they were rigging it. Lakers eventually beat them in 7 but if it weren’t for the officiating they wouldn’t have gotten there in the first place
For the Bill Russell Celtics there was also only 8 or 9 teams total in the league. Also there wasn't a free agency like there is today, teams would have to trade you away, so it was easier for good teams to stay good.
Honestly Kobe’s Dynasty should be from 2000-2010! 5 Titles in 11 Seasons is crazy. I really don’t care whether he did it with Shaq or Pau. Phil, Fisher, and Kobe were on all 5 Teams! That’s a Dynasty!
What about the 2017 & 2018 Western Conference Finals? The Warriors had it made with a Zaza Pachullia-led injury to Kawhi Leonard (Spurs were leading by 21) and an injured Chris Paul (Rockets were up 3-2 in the series).
put it this way. If a team wins 3 rings or more in a certain decade then they are a dynasty. That's how it should be. But everyone has their own subjective idea of what it is but that's how me and other people look at it. IJS
Kobe/Shaq embarrassing their competition isn't an * on them, because what's the appropriate number of wins for an all-time great team to get in a series? Them losing to the Pistons however, is an *
I think the first Lakers and Celtics biggest asterisk is simply there where half the teams. Basketball is a competition and if less teams are playing thats less competition.
It's not about rest for 94-95 Jordan. It's about the fact that his body was literally trained for baseball, which is a completely different type of sport with completely different needs. The 96 bulls were so clearly the best iteration that it doesn't even need to be mentioned. Stop the fucking cap. Damn near everyone on that team, won some type of award or made some type of all nba team. 3 all defensive first team players, 6th man of the year, rebounding and scoring champs, most accurate shooter in the league, the MVP, the coach of the year, the exactive of the year and the most hungry the Bulls have ever been.
wait did you just say charles barkley did not deserve to be in the olympics because he was not "good"? Bro was an absolute beast during his time in the 76ers, Suns and Rockets but had no help from his teammates. There was a saying when shaq tries to brag about his rings, give him a Dwayne wade or Kobe and he would have had a least a ring or two.
What is a dynasty would the late 80’s pistons count as a mini-dynasty? Would the cavs also count as a dynasty with the warriors because they consistently went to the finals even if they didn’t win.
While there were some players who needed a job in the off season. This idea that Bill Russell and Wilt played against plumbers is just not really true. There were some players who retired early to make more money, and off season jobs, but no. I think the only person who had a second job in season was a dude in active duty military. Average height was almost the same back then, Russell had to earn it.
Actually, yes, it is partly Pippen's fault for shaking the rim, but c'mon, if I was Shandon Anderson in that moment, I would easily make the layup even with Pippen shaking the rim
LeBron is the pretty much the only 'GOAT candidate' who has not been a part of a dynasty :D That's why I say he really can't even be a part of the said debate... Jordan had his dynasty, actually two dynasties. Magic had one, Bird had one, Kareem had one like Magic, Kobe had one. Shaq had one. I would also say Hakeem had one. Duncan had one. Russell definitely had one...But LeBron has never had one and most probably will never have one.
How did Hakeem have a dynasty but not Lebron? And doesn’t him not having a dynasty literally work in his favour in the goat debate??? All these other players had insanely good teammates besides maybe Hakeem, and he only has 2 rings
@alialissa4688 no, it really doesn't help him at all, considering how much help he had and how much less he accomplished than other goat candidates. It makes his case weaker, not stronger.
Yeah, it was more of Shandon Anderson's fault for missing a point blank layup, but he was a rookie during that time so you really can't blame him for missing a clutch shot
Jordan didn't suffer 'Too much rest' in '95. He trained his body for a completely different sport. He wasn't resting, he was working his ass off-just not at basketball. So yes, he came back unprepared for basketball, and became fatigued. If fatigue and fitness was a factor, we would expect this to be rectified after a pre-season of proper basketball preparation. So what happened the year after? Oh, 96 Bulls. That's right... And your next argument is even worse.... 'The Chicago bulls claim to the best team ever in 96 is crap, because the Chicago bulls were the best team ever in 92'. What a weird argument...
The Celtics only won 3 rings in the 80s and none of them were consecutive, they won in 81 then 84 then 86. So I think he didn’t count them as a dynasty
@BeerAndJointsAllDay I think the Spurs are the only exception. They didn't win back to back, but all of their championships have the same core and same coach and they have 5 of them. It's hard not to consider them a dynasty.
The 73-9 with unanimous MVP Warriors Team wasn't the KD one, but the Harrison Barnes, Green, Curry and KT. Four drafted players. After Barnes leaves and KD arrives, Warriors wasn't able to even get closer to finish with 73-9 or better. And still with four drafted players, as Bogut leaves and Looney take his place. So, I dont think this situation is similar to USA Team in any aspect, as the USA Team coach have 30 NBA teams to pick any player he want to pick.
rly, the Kobe Shaq dynasty gets a segment for 3 rings, but no 80s Celtics for 4? Or did you ignore it because the double-dynasty narrative would've conflicted with the Spurs critique?
14:34 ngl, I thought of 1975, when the GOAT won his first and only ring, finally overcoming his absolutely garbage teammates. I might be a bit biased though.
He doesn't even have an era. Everyone is eating well during his "reign". He has witnessed some amazing things during his career though. And he played during the Kobe and Duncan era, as well as the Curry era, and now during the European MVP's era.
Leaving off the Bird Celtics is wrong. I would add any team that won 50% of championships over a time span that includes some essential core. That does mean the badboy pistons and dream rockets get in, but you do have to make clear that all dynasties are not the same. It also paints a picture of what the bulls had to overcome to become 'the dynasty' I also would add the LeBron dynasty of just his teams to compare his reign over the eastern conference, but dont think i would extend it to his lakers time as that is too different in concept from his heat cavs days.
I enjoyed the video. Don’t agree with the whole more rest on MJs comeback year. It’s documented, he totally changed his body for baseball, and when he came back, though he had good games, he didn’t have his nba goat body back yet. That also fueled the 72 win season for him to do just that. I think “rest” just for its own sake isn’t great for the game, too many DNP’s nowadays, dude used the full season to hone his and teams skills. I hope the new rules get guys to going back to playing more. The perks of all the new training and ways to keep their bodies healthy is waaaay better now, so why they need so much rest?
You have an asterisk for either of them? I cant think of any Maybe for the pistons that they played dirty like the jordan rules or the fact that bill lambeer put his foot under player who jumped so that they will injure their ankles i think it could be one but i would like more info and opinions And the celtics... I think in the end we can all agree that the best goat is not Michael Jordan or LeBron James or even magic Johnson but it's none other than Ben Simmons........ *Cough cough* I just joking though I would say that I actually like watching Marvin Johnson who was a part of the bulls in the 70s and 80s as he was a great player when was my coach for basketball for highschool and middle school though I digress, I just want the NBA to add four more teams to its entire league so that way we can have more competition and playoffs can be more impactful
The GOAT and the Dynasty debate are both subjective. That's what makes them fun.
Playing justice league unlimited intro is very fitting for bird and magic
The NBA is the only sport i know of where choking seems to be regarded worse than just straight up getting dominated. IMO the Lakers losing to the Pistons while not getting close is worse than the Warriors losing out by one game to LEBRON.
I now understand why KD don’t pass the ball
12:11 "Burnt out" from playing... a year ago?
Honestly Kobe’s Dynasty should be from 2000-2010! 5 Titles in 11 Seasons is crazy. I really don’t care whether he did it with Shaq or Pau. Phil, Fisher, and Kobe were on all 5 Teams! That’s a Dynasty!
No rizz might be the craziest thumbnail in history ngl
For the spurs if you remove 1999 Tim, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili were on all those teams so i think you can say 2003-14
Also don't forget the Robert Horry / Steve Nash incident in game 4 of the 2007 WCF.
IJS
3 in a 5 year span with a back 2 back.
You can add back to back but not really because the Celtics didn't win back to back championships in the 80s and they're considered as a dynasty
Kobe/Shaq embarrassing their competition isn't an * on them, because what's the appropriate number of wins for an all-time great team to get in a series?
Them losing to the Pistons however, is an *
They faced fodder teams
the thing about the 2016 finals was that draymond got suspended and steph curry slightly tore his mcl so he wasnt running around like he usually does
And andrew bogut their only rim protector went down and iggy had a bad back.
Typical Draymond... not the Cavs fault.
How the hell does this dude make such good points to hate and you cant even be mad?
He doesn`t
NBA dynasty is all about winning 3 or more rings
@@ShaughnTorres I see your point but I still think the term dynasty doesn’t have a concrete definition and doesn’t have much of a meaning.
Gotta win back to back to be a dynasty.
@@reubengray6026 They won back to back though
The I love mom tat on LeBron 😂
While there were some players who needed a job in the off season. This idea that Bill Russell and Wilt played against plumbers is just not really true. There were some players who retired early to make more money, and off season jobs, but no. I think the only person who had a second job in season was a dude in active duty military. Average height was almost the same back then, Russell had to earn it.
Good video, bro
Warriors championship wasn't rigged the Heat Thunder series was the 1 that was rigged
Actually
2018 WCF game 7
Actually, yes, it is partly Pippen's fault for shaking the rim, but c'mon, if I was Shandon Anderson in that moment, I would easily make the layup even with Pippen shaking the rim
you are not him
@@Gedaxy_ It's just a layup all I have to do is spin the ball
Warriors finals makes me think of the 2018 JR Smith THROW
5:40 notice how Mikan is by himself. Shows how he doesn’t need a whole super team to 3 peat. I know who my goat is 😤
LeBron is the pretty much the only 'GOAT candidate' who has not been a part of a dynasty :D That's why I say he really can't even be a part of the said debate...
My Opinion on the NBA Dynasties:
1950-1954 Lakers (Mikan Era) Mega Dynasty
1957-1969 Celtics (Russel Era) Mega Dynasty
1970-1973 Knicks (Reed Era)
1977-1983 76ers ( Dr.J Era)
1980-1988 Lakers (Magic Era) Mega Dynasty
1981-1987 Celtics (Bird Era)
1988-1990 Pistons (Thomas Era)
1991-1998 Bulls (Jordan Era) Mega Dynasty
1994-1995 Rockets (Hakeem Era)
1999-2014 Spurs (Duncan Era) Mega Dynasty
2000-2010 Lakers (Kobe Era) Mega Dynasty
2011-2014 Heat (LeBron Era)
2015-2022 Warriors (Curry Era) Mega Dynasty
Wilts numbers are more 1960s
6:19 this is not goaltending for pippen because they didn't touch the ball or try to block in the goaltending area
Yeah, it was more of Shandon Anderson's fault for missing a point blank layup, but he was a rookie during that time so you really can't blame him for missing a clutch shot
Damn didn’t have to do the spurs like that😢
Jordan didn't suffer 'Too much rest' in '95.
No rizz is crazy
The fianks isnt all that matters kobe beat the moat 50 pkus win teams in history to get to the finals
Where is bird's 80s celtics???
The Celtics only won 3 rings in the 80s and none of them were consecutive, they won in 81 then 84 then 86. So I think he didn’t count them as a dynasty
Gotta win back to back to be a dynasty.
@@reubengray6026 When did the Spurs won back to back????
Spurs went to the finals 6 times as many as the bulls and they won 5
Or did you ignore it because the double-dynasty narrative would've conflicted with the Spurs critique?
dude were you drinking when you made this.
what’s the asterisk on dillon brooks grizzlies? how is that dynasty not on here
The maverick sweep the Lakers in 2011 to Kobe Lakers
Can't say that 2019 finals is a stain od GSW dynasty, because Klay and KD were injured. Otherwise 2019 chip would propably stay in bay area.
MJ and Bulls literally got back to back swept in the same 1st round against the non athletic Celtics ✨✨✨🏀
And then dominated in the 90s
14:34 ngl, I thought of 1975, when the GOAT won his first and only ring, finally overcoming his absolutely garbage teammates. I might be a bit biased though.
Guys I just want to point out that this man is saying the problem with the warriors dynasty was they were too good and talented
Where is James dynasty? They don't call him The King for no reason
King of no dynasty 😂
A man who must say he is the King, is not true King.
He doesn't even have an era. Everyone is eating well during his "reign". He has witnessed some amazing things during his career though. And he played during the Kobe and Duncan era, as well as the Curry era, and now during the European MVP's era.
@@NickAlex08 Heatles era >>>
@@NickAlex08are you sure about that
Mikan wore #99.
Please don't forget to include Nets big 3 next time
Which one
Imagine according tho this guy playing baseball is rest 😂
This is brought to you by Klutch Sports 🤣
Bro dissing the Cleveland team Lebron and the clowns is hilarious
Dynasty is more about culture of team they left
If you get swept clean, you're not a dynasty.
If you choke a 3-1 lead, you're not a dynasty.
So, Bulls are the Dynasty? Nope!!
People always talk about how the east is weak....forgetting that the warriors went to 5 straight finals in a suppose "strong" west
Leaving off the Bird Celtics is wrong.
I would add any team that won 50% of championships over a time span that includes some essential core.
That does mean the badboy pistons and dream rockets get in, but you do have to make clear that all dynasties are not the same. It also paints a picture of what the bulls had to overcome to become 'the dynasty'
I also would add the LeBron dynasty of just his teams to compare his reign over the eastern conference, but dont think i would extend it to his lakers time as that is too different in concept from his heat cavs days.
Not being mentioned in a diss sound like a win to me
How in the hell are the 80's Celtics left off? They were the team to beat in the East until 1992
3:03 Sonic or Shadow are cooking Lebron.
You lost me at the Warriors one. “The dynasty doesn’t count because they did it with a good team” 😭??
No Rizz? I mean Tony Parker my dude
@9:46 who that old guy
Tony parker really looks like Michael Mando
damn no 80 celtics or pistons
Exactly
You have an asterisk for either of them? I cant think of any
Maybe for the pistons that they played dirty like the jordan rules or the fact that bill lambeer put his foot under player who jumped so that they will injure their ankles i think it could be one but i would like more info and opinions
And the celtics... I have nothing about them idk what could be their asterisk
Saying MJ was coming off of rest is cap. He was still in the minors playing an entirely different sport
You should do this on your NFL channel?
LeBron is a glorified Robert Horry, but Horry didn't chase rings.
Lebron is a charlatan!
And Duncan whipped him twice!
