Do you think it will keep the PH levels around 8 ? I'm not a sand fan inside the tank but was curious to know what you think if used inside the filter ?
That would work, but its risky, keeping sand inside your filter always has the potential of escaping the bag and ending up in your impeller, no bueno! But I have your solution. I couldnt tell you an appropriate number because as you know that tank is smaller then the min suggested size. 55 is the min because of the length of the tank. Its all in the filter bro! Just use the same filter, dont even clean it during the switch. If you're upgrading to a new filter then just use both filters for about 2 weeks to help seed the new one! Heres a great video of my upgrade - ruclips.net/video/sqj2g8_PZ7U/видео.html
He’s a beauty! Have you ever received fish that didn’t quite meet you’re expectations look and color-wise? If so, do you keep them anyways or what do you do with them?
Yes I have, you always will in this hobby. So far I've kept them because I'm still filling in my show tank (the 210) But soon I will be giving a few guys away to my LFS.
You need to wait until your tank is cycled. That can take 1-4 weeks depending on how you do it. Heres a great playlist for you - ruclips.net/p/PLP5OXTIIDO8NYvhUHAmwAd54WFmS4d8er
@@KaveManAquatics thanks tank is cycled and established for many years, I am switching to Haps and peacocks. So adding the fish, what is a good timeframe?
@@KaveManAquatics 75 gallon and a 20g grow out. My real question is if you add fish let’s say 3-5 how long should you wait until you add some more so you don’t do an ammonia spike by adding too many fish at once or too quickly.
Got you, I say wait a week. Give your bacteria time to catch up to the new bio-load then you can add in another batch. Use Seachem stability or api stress zyme when you add them and you may be able to add them even sooner. Test for ammonia and nitrite a few days after you add them. If levels are still at 0, its safe to add more
a 10 is fine, unless you are quarantining monsters lol I dont med trio auto but I do Just general cure auto....Ich is easy to spot, so if I see it then ill add the other 2 together.
@@KaveManAquatics dang just went and bought a 29. Appreciate you responding alot of "youtube people" don't. Keep up the awesome work. Got into african cichlids because of your channel. Also how long to qt?
I have a question... Why do all the pretty fish I get lose their colour and fade over time?! I change the water every week without fail (60%) so I know the water quality is good. Am I changing it too much and it's a result of stress?!
Stress will definitely fade their colors, but many things can cause stress...also you could be buying juiced fish that have plenty of color in the pet store and then they lose it later....if this has happened to multiple fish and you got them all from the same place, don’t buy there anymore.
I’ve had a new tank going for about 13 days now, and it experienced bacterial bloom. And cleared up after it went through the cycle, but then it got cloudy again, I did a 25% water change and it’s still cloudy, every test I have done is reading great, I have a fluval 405 canister filter do you have recommendations on what I should do?
Good thing you recognized the bloom and waited it out to clear...After that, many things can cause cloudy water. Check out my free ebook, plenty of tips in there that will definitely help! bit.ly/H2O

@@KaveManAquatics spoke to soon .. got it
1 more question kev..coastalcichlids.com they also sell juveniles or just grown up?..I rather get young and watch them mature
Yup, they have plenty of juveniles at great prices too
Hey I wanted to know whats some good fish i can pair with yellow lab
Any other Mbunas.
Hey kev! I'm upgrading from a 60 gallon to 90 gallon. What's the best way to transfer the beneficial bacteria from 1 tank to another?
Its all in the filter bro! Just use the same filter, dont even clean it during the switch. If you're upgrading to a new filter then just use both filters for about 2 weeks to help seed the new one! Heres a great video of my upgrade - ruclips.net/video/sqj2g8_PZ7U/видео.html
@@KaveManAquatics thanks kev!
Hey brother thanks again, what isbthe cost for a fish like that , and do you think they can send to california
Im sure they can send to Cali, At this size hes about 50-60 bucks plus the shipping
@@KaveManAquatics you are the best brother ❤
When you order fish how long does it take before you get them usually?
Depending on what day of the week you order, it takes a few days to process and package, once it’s shipped it’s overnight.
Thats is one beautiful fish kev 😍
I'm gonna have to get me one of those is he a peacock
Yes sir, Peacock Lwanda...Go check out Neils website, he had more but very possible they're all gone already.
Hey Kev just updated my 55 to a 75 today and running 2 tidal 110 hob’s do you think that’s enough filtration for 20 peacocks
Na bud, you’re cutting it too close. But if your waters clear right now ride it until it lasts, as they grow you’ll need to upgrade
Just updated my tank guess it’s time to update filtration! Thanks for all your content. Have learned so much from you man
@@derrickbowers3905 Good move! Thanks bro, glad I can help 😊💪
Damn that's a good looking fish man
Thank you bro! He's doing great too!
@@KaveManAquatics I would be too if I lived in that 210 mansion lol
Hey man great video but doesn't ur hands get wet when you put them in the bag 😂😂💦👐 haha kidding great video as always
@@KaveManAquatics Awesome thanks! Keep up the good work 🙏🏼

When starting a tank what is a good time between adding fish?
You need to wait until your tank is cycled. That can take 1-4 weeks depending on how you do it. Heres a great playlist for you - ruclips.net/p/PLP5OXTIIDO8NYvhUHAmwAd54WFmS4d8er
@@KaveManAquatics thanks tank is cycled and established for many years, I am switching to Haps and peacocks. So adding the fish, what is a good timeframe?
Not sure what you mean by time frame, do you mean how many fish at a time? It depends on your tank size and filtration set up. What do you have?
@@KaveManAquatics 75 gallon and a 20g grow out. My real question is if you add fish let’s say 3-5 how long should you wait until you add some more so you don’t do an ammonia spike by adding too many fish at once or too quickly.
Got you, I say wait a week. Give your bacteria time to catch up to the new bio-load then you can add in another batch. Use Seachem stability or api stress zyme when you add them and you may be able to add them even sooner. Test for ammonia and nitrite a few days after you add them. If levels are still at 0, its safe to add more
Wow 🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️
Thanks! 😊💪
I was told I needed at least a 20 gallon for qt and you using a 10? Also how long do you qt and do you treat med trio regardless?
a 10 is fine, unless you are quarantining monsters lol I dont med trio auto but I do Just general cure auto....Ich is easy to spot, so if I see it then ill add the other 2 together.
@@KaveManAquatics dang just went and bought a 29. Appreciate you responding alot of "youtube people" don't. Keep up the awesome work. Got into african cichlids because of your channel. Also how long to qt?
Glad I could inspire bro! 💪 Quarantine for 2-4 weeks
@@KaveManAquatics quick question how many can I keep in a 20 gallon long qt?
How many inches is the fish?
Im guessing about 7-8
I have a question... Why do all the pretty fish I get lose their colour and fade over time?! I change the water every week without fail (60%) so I know the water quality is good. Am I changing it too much and it's a result of stress?!
Stress will definitely fade their colors, but many things can cause stress...also you could be buying juiced fish that have plenty of color in the pet store and then they lose it later....if this has happened to multiple fish and you got them all from the same place, don’t buy there anymore.
is it ok to leave fx6 on allday for peacock ciclids on 75 gallon tank
Absolutely, never turn your filter off.
wow...😍😍😍
😊😁

How many gallons is the tank to the left
The big boy...is a 210G
I’ve had a new tank going for about 13 days now, and it experienced bacterial bloom. And cleared up after it went through the cycle, but then it got cloudy again, I did a 25% water change and it’s still cloudy, every test I have done is reading great, I have a fluval 405 canister filter do you have recommendations on what I should do?
Good thing you recognized the bloom and waited it out to clear...After that, many things can cause cloudy water. Check out my free ebook, plenty of tips in there that will definitely help! bit.ly/H2O
Very nice
Thanks
