  • Your Aquarium Wave Maker Position works best when positioned correctly. There are many benefits of a wave maker. It provides surface agitation, water circulation, and helps calm the aggression in aggressive fish like African Cichlids, a Triple Function. This video will show you how to position a wave maker in your aquarium.
    A wave maker in fish tank helps your aquarium water circulation by keeping detritus from piling up on your substrate. Your aquarium wave maker setup is easy to do with the right information.

    Do you prefer wave makers over bubbles, or visa versa? I find its difficult to have both because wave makers will suck up the bubbles and create like a million micro bubbles lol Whats your experience? Share it below! And don't forget to subscribe 👉 ruclips.net/user/kavemanaquatics

    Oh. My. God.
    This video has been a GODSEND…. I upgraded my tank and a few of my fish have been gasping at the top of the tank for hours and I’ve tried EVERYTHING. Stupidly in my head I figured having the wave maker on the opposite side of the filter intake would create more oxygen, then I watched this, moved the wave maker to the other side of the tank and just like that NO GASPING FISH! Thankyou for this, your videos are so helpful!!!

    Decided to switch from gravel to sand about a month ago and I don’t regret. Replaced it with Quikrete Playsand and added four wave makers. The Hygger double head blows from the left to the right and two less powerful, one on each side at the bottom, blows to the left creating that nice flow. Despite having some decorations in the tank, I can barely see fish waste sitting on the bottom. And as you said, the constant flow will keep these serial killers distracted. I’ve learned a lot from your vids. Thanks for the tips, Kev.

    Yo Kev, I watched this video a couple of months ago for the first time. I kept saying for weeks I was gonna buy a wavemaker for my 29 gallon tank. Ive always had an issue with tiny little particles floating around in my tank despite using a Fluval 206 canister filter. My intake is on the left like you point out in this video. I finally bought a small 580GPH wavemaker last week from Amazon. I installed it that evening above the left side intake. By morning.....my tank was CRYSTAL CLEAR!!!!!! Thank you so much for this video and the information you are providing. You prove to me why I love the fish hobby everytime I watch one of your videos. @KaveMan Aquatics Hey Kev. This is a really informative video and it makes absolute sense I can’t thank you enough. I would definitely consider a wavemaker, as I know that water agitation is essential for my pleco only tank and the more water agitation the better. I do have a question, I have noticed that my airstone set up has stopped my plecos from shooting bubbles through their gills and swimming upwards for more oxygen. My question is, do I ditch the airstones and switch to a wavemaker or could I use a wavemaker as an additional? Should I also use a wavemaker that is optimised for my tank size or could I just straight up go with a 1500 gallons per hour?

    • @KaveManAquatics
      @KaveManAquatics  2 года назад +1

      Don't know your tank size so cant say if 1500 gph would be good for you. But make sure the wave maker allows your guys to still swim where they'd like. Yes you can use both the wave maker and the airstone but you may run into a micro bubble problem. The wave maker will blow those airstone bubbles around the tank...Normally after adding a wave maker it provides sufficient surface agitation for oxygen transfer and you wont even need the airstone anymore.

    Hey Kev. I kept fish when I was younger and I came back to the hobby in the last year. I’m going to be honest, I thought that a wave maker was a gimmick. But, since I got one, I can’t believe how clear my water is and how little comes out of the substrate when I do my maintenance. Thanks for everything man.

    Excellent video. I no longer do bottom vacuuming by applying this trick. My big aquariums are up to 3 feet deep so this saves a lot of maintenance work. I use very little substrate on top of a simulated rock bottom mat too providing for less detritus on the bottom.

    Awesome videos, no clue how much you’ve helped me.
    Made a rookie mistake with my first wave maker not realizing I was using a 1600 gph in my 20 gallon. 🤦🏾‍♂️
    Now I have a more appropriate 95 gph pond pump that I rigged with foam to angle towards the surface. I have a hang on back filter and the water flows out towards the front of the tank. I was wondering where would I properly place my pump. I also have a sponge filter on the opposite side.
    Thanks again for all the help. And may your water be forever crystal clear!
