eh i dont get that complaint - daredevil, jessica jones and punisher's season 1s proved that you can tell a decent story in 13 episodes

mk6rfc1 ehh disagree. Punisher wasn’t popular except among Marvel Netflix fans, and the first three episodes were too slow. Jessica Jones could’ve cut out the whole ‘kidnapping Kilgrave’ or his parents or even IGH and Nuke since he wasn’t even needed in S2 anyway. Only Daredevil S1 is the right number of episodes.
Marble Witch Haven't seen season 2 of any of them except Daredevil, but I do agree with what you say. Daredevil wasn't boring in the middle of those 13 episodes.... The thing is, it doesn't hurt to make the show just 10 episodes long. It could've evened out the pace, made the seasons as a whole lot more entertaining
I was hired for my first job at AMC Dine In movie theaters in the beginning of the month of April. It took some time before I officially started working there because I am a minor and I needed a million papers signed, but finally I started working, and my first day on the job, was April 27th 2018. The busiest weekend I’ve ever had in my life. Jesus Christ, I was lucky I had already seen the movie on the Thursday night screening because I have never seen more excited and nervous people completely filling up the building. Food was practically falling off the tables back in the kitchen everyone was in a rush, and I think we were completely sold out for 3 whole weeks. I will never forget that weekend. Truly beautiful
My first weekend working in a theater was the opening weekend for Jurassic Park: The Lost World. Worse yet, it was raining, so the place was beyond mobbed. Talk about a baptism by 13-hour fire.
The heroes we do not deserve. Thank you to those who braved the cinema. We truly do thank you.

About Dan's nitpick: As a former resident, I can tell that "Upstate New York" often refers to the entire state that isn't NYC Metro area/Long Island. Not, as you would think, just the North half of the state.
Secondly, The New York skyline is BIG. When driving toward the city, you'll often see it an hour before you get there. That shot in Infinity War looked like it could be 20-40 miles up the Hudson River Valley, wel into what the locals call "Upstate".
"He's impulsive, he's stupid, he's emotional." So basically, he's human. Well, 50% human of which all the stupid is within that 50%.

Honest trailers: most movie ever made. Most impressive achievement ever made.
Laughs in endgame
Just imagine it. Matt is out walking with Foggy and Karen having a cup of coffee when all of a sudden one or both of his best friends turns to dust. That's traumatic for anyone, but with his Daredevil senses it goes further than just watching it happen.
He'll smell their ashes and hear the sound of their bones and skin crumbling away way in advance. On top of that, he gets to listen to the wails of literally everyone around him dealing with the same thing. Out of all the Defenders, I think Matt would be the most interesting addition to Endgame in an ideal world.
I remember while watching infinity war, and my dad whispered over to me, "Who's Steve Rogers?"
Also when Red Skull was revealed I was the only one in my family who cared about it.
A better nitpick is in Guardians when Gamora gets arrested the computer shows she is “the last survivor “ of her people but in this movie Thanos says her planet is a paradise after he killed half of them. I’m sure you’d still get flak but at least it wouldn’t only be New Yorkers you irritated. :)

It was painfully obvious in the trailer. You see Scarlett Witch, and its right there looking at her. You even hear the line. In previous HT's its been more subtle and hidden. I mean, you really didn't have to look for it in this one, unlike Deep Blue Sea, or a few others.

The nit pick, isn't that from the time they were moving stuff from the NYC HQ to the new location in upstate that was established in Spiderman: Homecoming? (adjust glasses)
It would be that locale, but the upstate HQ is established in Ultron. We see it again in Ant-Man and Civil War, and I guess whatever was happening in Homecoming was them officially closing the tower.
What you see in Homecoming I thought was the HQ they established at the end of Ultron and you see in Ant Man. Though I'm not clear on Civil War. There were *SO MANY* locations in that film, I lost track.
NO SHOUTOUT TO THE SHERLOCK REFERENCE?! This trailer could've easily been 30 minutes long cause there is SO MUCH to talk about, still liked it!

Funny you should say that about Lord of the Rings. Before I liked that trilogy, some friends invited me to see a movie when I was a kid. It was Return of the King, and in the car ride there, I asked what this movie was and, since I didn't watch any fantasy stuff, they said it "Was like Monty Python and the Holy Grail, but it was all serious."
I had no idea what was going on and thought the Witch King was the main villain, so I wasn't sure why the movie kept going after he was gone. But then, years later, I borrowed someone's copy of the DVDs and watched them once so I could then watch them with Rifftrax, and then really ended up liking them. So they're basically one of my favorite series of movies now.

I don't understand the: "this movie doesn't have a beginning, middle and end" point that people are making.
Beginning: Thanos is hunting for the Infinity stones
Middle: The Avengers try to stop Thanos from getting all the stones.
End: Thanos beats all of the Avengers and gets all of the stones and accomplishes his goal.
That seems like a pretty definitive beginning, middle and end to me just like any other Marvel movie. Just because the villain wins, it doesn't mean that there isn't a proper three act structure to this movie.
This commentary and trailer are the best ones in awhile. You've restored my faith in SJ. Keep it up
When I seen the movie with my mom. While we waited for the end credit scenes all she could talk about wasn't all the death but how hot Thonos was. Crazy! At least she's not alone.

The editing to infinity war is immaculate, just the bring me thanos scene alone to me is editing in its finest form. We praise the actors and directors but the editors are truly unsung heroes. Also as far as this movie getting an Oscar nomination I think I'd put my money on Zoey saldana for best supporting actress, but knowing the academy awards they would never go for that, they view these movies as science fiction and comedy but the academy hates those two things as we should all be aware of by this point in time.
My mother is from upstate New York, and while that was Syracuse so literally the middle of the state, just YESTERDAY I told someone that technically, "upstate New York is every part of the state that's not NYC or Long Island, so any latitude north of NYC." It doesn't have to be hours away like Albany or Binghamton. So if the HQ is in like Poughkeepsie or something, even though it's only 20 minutes out of Manhattan, that's still "upstate New York." It's a matter of political demographics, separating the city and rich LI from more working class/farmer NY.
You're right. "Upstate" to me (from LI) is anything north of the Bronx. And on a super clear day you can see the Empire State building from the tall hilly part of Northern Boulevard in Manhasset, almost 20 miles away.

Regarding the infinity gauntlet creating an infinity of resources, well ... that's not actually possible, you see in math there are these things called sequences, a sequence can go to infinity will still being infinitely smaller than another sequence.
Take: a(n)=n^2 and b(n)=n^n where n goes from 1 to infinity
a=1; b=1 n=1
a=4; b=4 n=2
a=9; b=27 n=3
a=16; b=256 n=4
a=25; b=3125 n=5
.
.
.
so when n=infinity a-b=n^2(1-n^(n-2))=-infinity
And considering that an infinity of resources => infinity of resource consumer; and that the infinity will forever grow while the infinity of resources will forever get taken from due to the fact that the consumers will constantly consume, you see how halving things is less complicating.

In fact my brother went into 'Infinity War' with me unless he has not seen any mcu movie except for the first Iron Man. He loved it and I had to show him all the other movies in the following two weeks...

I actually took my mom to see this movie because my girlfriend doesn't like crowded theaters, my dad was supposed to come to but he kept falling asleep during the binge watching sessions to catch them up on the movies they'd missed

About Dan's nitpick: So they moved to Yonkers or Weschester, big deal! Remember that after Civil War, the Avengers broke up, so it was pretty much Iron Man, War Machine, Vision, Black Panther and Black Widow, but the last one went on the run with the other side, Black Panther is in his own country, and Vision has been sneaking off to be with Wanda from time to time, so it's pretty much Iron Man and Rhodes, maybe they didn't need a new Avengers training facility, so they just moved.
My dad loved Captain America First Avenger. Seriously couldn't careless about the other flicks.

Dan's nit-picky isn't a thing I noticed, being a Brit. But Thor2 had one that made me question whether it was a documentary or just some made-up silliness. Thor crashed down through Charing Cross train station into the underground (tube/subway). He asked how to get to Greenwich (where all the portal action was occurring) and a lady said to stay on for a couple of stops. The tube doesn't go there. /nerd he'd have to go back upstairs and jump on an overland train for half hour. It wouldn't bother me but the movie made the point of showing which train station he crashed through and describing the process of getting back to Greenwich. If the writers didn't know I'm sure the actress saying the line would have. They made an effort to describe it, with action and dialogue, and were wrong. Less effort could have got it right. On the other hand, maybe in the Marvel universe the tube does connect to Greenwich.

The official trailer purposely misdirecting the audience for Infinity War for marketing is a nice honest trailer to raise the hype.

As Buffett budget Hollywood as this movie is. Its. True achievement in cinema. Truly something that has been done before on such a scale.
Regarding the launch of the Iron Spider module from Avengers HQ: I think it's still in upstate NY, it used some crazy start repulsor engine, to travel /really/ fast.
You could probably also do some "math" to figure out where the doughnut ship was over Manhattan, and the HQ. Since the ship was in the air, it might have have been too far.

You coulda pointed out how Gamorra suddenly says she loves Starlord, when in the last film all they get is hands holding. But here they're in a full fledged relationship.
I think it's more of a Things Have Escalated To Possible Death, Let's Hold Nothing Back kind of moment. At least, that's how I read it.
I was okay with that, mainly because GOTG2 took place a couple of months after the first. Therefore when they're in Infinity War, a couple of years has passed for them :)

They did say that for a moment they considered bringing in characters like Quake/Daisy Johnson from AOS but there were already too many heroes and stories --- besides, given what AOS was doing with their storyline running parallel to Infinity War events, it was actually better they weren't involved and they got to finish their own storyline
Also, I never got the Star Lord hate that's been going on ---- it's like people forgot that Gamora willingly gave up the soul stone, Strange willingly gave up the time stone, and then Thor should have aimed for the head but he didn't because he wanted Thanos to suffer first ---- at least three other people should be sharing equal blame for everything getting fucked up, because quite frankly even if Star Lord messed up, Thanos still wouldn't have gotten the time stone if Strange hadn't WILLINGLY GAVE IT UP - at the end of the day, Star Lord's actions are entirely irrelevant
in the scene it does look very much upstate NY, its just that the iron spider flies by really fast to manhattan
The commentaries are starting to become funnier than the actual trailers.
Imagine if the honest trailer had ended with them all working on it behind the scenes, recording commentary and editing, and suddenly starting to disintegrate one by one as emergency alerts start going off and so on
So I just found out that this whole series exists. I've been watching Honest Trailers for, like, ever, and I didn't know they did commentaries. And now this is #52 on the list which means it's a year ago. So I'm watching this and knowing, Spencer is like days away from impregnating his wife and that's just a weird thing to know about someone as he talks about a comic book movie.
I completely lose it when Dan goes: "Who else is pissed?!"

I’m so tired of everyone criticizing all the people who got Snaptured away. You had to give Thanos a victory at the end of that movie and that means important characters had to die. People would have nitpicked whoever got snaptured if they took all different characters

I feel it was a mistake when Ebony Maw gives Thanos the space stone and says to him that no one has ever had the power and honor to wield 2 infinity stones at the same time. Loki Had both of them in the 1st Avengers.

My nitpick is if Thanos' idea is to wipe out half of every species. Why did Groot disintegrate in the end, as isn't he the the last/only one of his kind?
Maybe he rounded down?
Maybe it's because he saw Groot as at least a minor threat and thought the snap was an easy way to get rid of him.

When Dr. Strange calls the cloak when bruce falls into the sanctum, he is wearing a hoodie (and jeans I think or something?) but then cut to him and Wong looking down at Bruce he has his mystical sorcerer garb on. And I’m assuming that it didn’t come with the cloak? Maybe it has Velcro tear away that I’m unaware of.
The only plot holes are the gamora issue with gotg saying she was the sole survivor and infinity war saying more were born and thanos had the gauntlet in aou and here they act like he just made it
I imagine that dude from Arkansas standing up after Logan and again yelling "who else is pissed?!"
