    I got my new fesley fed1200w & can't keep my hands/feet off them. Got to give huge shout out to fesley & it's workers. 5 stars out of 5 !! They went extra mile to make sure I was very satisfied. Band students,garage rockers, & the born drummets in us all should tryly consider his kit. As sr old rocker is really dig these drums. Ronzo like@@

    It looks like it's definitely worthy of the price increase over the 1000 given the upgrade in the control module, components, and rack. It's still the best least expensive kit you can get that incorporates a real hi hat which is huge.

    • @KeithronPowell
      @KeithronPowell  5 месяцев назад

      It’s great because of the hi hat but the sounds fail it. I think the kit itself is dope. Just wish I could use the module from the SD1250 or T70

  • @joenichols9012
    @joenichols9012 17 дней назад +1

    I have one and made big improvements with using an iron cobra dbl pedal modified using a strap drive and the speed cobra footboards, replaced the 12” hi hat with a 14” low volume hi hat (I took the trigger of the fesley hi hat and put it on the 14” hi hat and use the same controller, replaced all the cheap plastic clamps with Gibraltar metal clamps so much easier to readjust when needed, and the biggest improvement which I had told Fesley is I actually swapped out the 10” floor tom with another 12” snare pad being used as a floor tom (this one change alone makes a major difference as I kept missing the 10” floor tom). The dual zones on the pads cannot be changed to other sounds like say a cowbell. They are stuck as rims unless there’s a preprogrammed kit with cowbell that I haven’t found yet but I will look. Other than that it’s a decent starter set and the sizes and moving hi hat is why I bought it.

      So basically you bought the set and totally changed it and now it’s a good Fesley? 😂😂 just kidding. The module is still lacking majorly. Sounds and sound quality. The hi hat is the star of the show and the bass drum assuming it’s the larger one.

    I bought this kit about a month ago. Im new to e kits so i don't know how it compares to other brands. It's sturdy, has generous sized drum heads, actually the kick drum is more sturdy than i anticipated, love the snare size and the hats having is own stand is a plus. It seems like it lacks in the sound department. Over all four the$850 i paid for it...i like it.

      @KeithronPowell  9 месяцев назад +3

      Ok… so in the initial review it’s a good idea to NOT make changes. Now that I’ve down that I may make some changes but… does that really make a good drum set? I’ve done at least one test and found that the hi hat will not work properly on the Titan series drums (no video). This logically means the module will likely function well for everything except the hi hat… I’m also, sure the Tom’s will become dual zone exactly like the T70 (multiple sounds) instead of the tom sound from the Fesley module. In my opinion, it’s better to use the drum with something like EZDrummer. This would make for a great drum if the sounds were better.

    Which one do you feel is a better kit for a young beginner to grow in?

    • @KeithronPowell

      That’s not an easy question. If you’re looking for a realistic feel the 1200W feels more like an acoustic but there again, a beginner won’t know that. When it comes to sounds the Titan wins hands down. The main thing that makes this a better buy for a beginner is that everything you need is in the box.

      I’d answer that two ways. 1) because of the hi hat and 12in snare also, the rack. This drum feels more like an acoustic. If you’re going to be moving back and forth the natural feel makes this great. 2) the sounds and the module are the real issue. If I was going to buy for something other than practice I’d have to get a different module. If this has the Roland, Alesis or Yamaha module it’d be a really sick drum set. To me the drum set is physically better than the nitro mesh but the module is 5-10 years behind.

    try to run that thru a PC, with some drum programs and make a video on it .. and you wont have to use the sounds on the brain. control all sound thru a PC .. it will open the kit up even more .. friend of mine has a donor kit that he runs thru a PC using the USB .. that donor kit you would think it was a donor kit .. and have you tried the New kit from them with the big 16" kick and their snare on a stand ?

      I’ve tried so many different set ups. Once you run through computer things get about even.

    @mike-xq8bv 2 months… only 2 months? Thats a shame! Ok.. as to when I get a moment I will work in the module but… the decay rate is my main issue. Next is just the grouping.

    Keith. I have a Simmons Titan 70, which I believe is superior as a playing set. Four toms, expansion ability (I want to add another cymbal in the center between the first two toms). I don't like the flimsy plastic hardware and are going to buy extras in case they fail over time. The wiggling is a bit annoying, but as long as it holds together, it's not that big of a deal as there is no reason to hit electric sets hard anyway.
    On the Fesley 1200, clearly the hardware is superior, but the module seems poor compared to the Simmons. The double clicking on the hi hat is unacceptable to me, and I would be pissed off big time by it. Maybe they can fix it with a software upgrade. If one was going to use external sounds on a computer to drive the set, then it would be fine except for the hi hat issue. I find the sounds and ability to make my own custom sets in the Simmons adequate, and don't feel the need to run it through a computer.
    I enjoy your reviews! Keep up the good work!

      Thanks! Yeah, if they fix the sounds and the double trigger issue… whoa, this would be a monster set for under $1000

    Honestly..... The Titan 50 sounds better, but almost everything is better on the Fesley.

      I can’t disagree. If either Fesley upgrades their sounds or Simmons upgrades their hardware… there is a serious potential for Roland and others to have a problem!

      Keith please do a short video on the module because I think if you tweak some parameters this kit could be nice if it's lacking substance it could hold some people back from buying this kit I like it I have sd1200 and started sd9k 20 years ago did a lot of tweeking after two months I got it right the cross talk was the last to get in line ty look forward to more vids
