Dunno why everyone keeps saying they're communist. The United Empire are a hardcore monarchy with a strong focus on industrialisation and expansion. The propaganda looks like it's from the Soviet Union because the Soviet Union was very good at making propaganda, and good propaganda is good propaganda.
That is why I like United Empire redesign. Devs managed to combine noticeablle aspects of monarchy, dystopian capitalism and visual style of "cultural revolution" of socialism, in particular USSR.
United Empire most likely a WW1 Germany: Emperor, monopolists and yeah, propoganda. And this kind of propoganda are pretty common to first 1/2 of XX century for Europe, not only Soviet Union.
The reason I had USSR hype from the propaganda was the colour pallet - red and white. Also, if I remember correctly the heroes of United Empire in Enfless Space 1 had "Eastern Eupean'ish" names.

The only thing that remotely resembles communism here are the red colors aesthetics in their propaganda and even then many empires uses that kind of color (e.g; British Empire). read the lore again and learn more.
All government and executive power in the Empire is controlled directly by the Emperor and the Imperial Court composed of the Empire's Nobility. These aristocrats also control the corporations that manage the star systems. The United Empire is a capitalist Absolute Monarchy, complete with an aristocratic system making up its ruling elite.

No wonder why the Soviet/Russian anthem is so good.
Vitor Demarque Quirino I thank the god emperor of mankind that you know what crony capitalism is, because apparently mostly everyone in the comments doesn't.
They're not fucking absolute monarchy lmao. Their default government is federation, that's about as far as you can get. I like how at 0:56 it looks like he's kind of accepting the gift, but then if you look at the scene after it becomes clear he was actually just laughing at the alien. "What, you think you can save your species by giving me FRUIT?!"
It seems to me that the scene with a pile of xenos skulls at the end of the video does not make a direct sense. This represents the subjugation of the alien species, not their physical destruction, but the destruction of their culture.
The slick propaganda video followed by a Fallout-style zoom out of what an Empire city actually looks like was pretty clever. Same with the "making new patriots" section where the Empire flag is planted on a pile of skulls (presumably from the alien faction seen before).
I'm happy the the spaceships form the united empire were completely redesigned, the old ones in Endless Space 1 looked kind of bad, but now their ships look awesome, they reflect the strength of the United Empires.
It is a utopic distopia. Everything in the video seems extremly bright for human future but the world's itself turned a industrial wasteland in the end of the video. Evrything seems like a utopia but in real it is a distopia

Dynamiczx Well it's just some hardcore enviromentalist's bs when they label dystopian future as corporate's heaven. And some people prefer bright sky and green plains with bird dancing here and there rather than seeing industrial cities that actually improve ourselves in many ways...
I dont think so, the united empire is NOT xenophobic, not religious and not technologically stunted. The UE is run by different corporations and barons rather than a central authority like guilliman. The UE are also an industralist and mercantile society with an unwavering loyalty to the Emperor mostly out of fear rather than worship. To be honest I would say that the UE is closer to the ferengi alliance than it is to the imperium but even then, its nowhere near similar.

This video sold me on getting the game now. I loved ES1 but was reluctant to get 2 early access with so few factions, but wow the aesthetic of the Empire looks great and I'm going to have to get it now.
I’ve found that the best way to play the empire is with sheer force of numbers which can be very easily done with the Karga being that the ship has Access to four utility slots which can be used for either a jammer of space for extra troops, the other three can be taken up by standard warp engines although you could jump up to the yellow warp drives to give you a much larger area of operations, but it means that it will cost you more in the ways of time and resources, vs the standards which I would only recommend installing only two rather than three because we’ll get to that later on and lastly weapons, when it comes to the hoard build, you’d simply go kinetic all the way, this means that you can gain access to things like the torpedos which at the start of the game already does sixty plus damage, which only increases over time with more research, but that being said, the standard one does a max damage of about seventy which is a lot, but it just has terrible reload and can only have one weapon at a time, however that’s rather inconsequential when when you consider that if you’re civilization is already highly industrialized and industrial based, then you can basically turn what most factions would usually have to wait say about forty turns just for a destroyer, vs you constantly pumping out new ships ever two turns, and if you’re really good and high tiered you can basically cut the space time to basically one turn per ship, yes they’ll explode as soon as they’re hit with anything larger than a politicians ego, but it ultimately doesn’t matter because at the end of your turn you’ll be respawning new and more ships all the while they’re waiting to build their replacements, plus the overall fleet cost is actually staggering being that they only cost about two credits each means that overall fleet costs can be lowered all the while ships like the Zolya make for fantastic interdiction/ interception ships making them perfect for rapid expansions or redeployments.
I just realised that the alien that kneel before the guy is the same alien than in the corpse pile in the following picture... you can even see the weird egg he was offering the human

What happened to the vast majority of humanity in the lore? Aside from the United Empire and the Vaulters (the other human factions came from the United Empire or the Vaulters) the rest just DISAPPEARED!
From what I can tell any other humans are in the distant, DISTANT past and are pretty much forgotten. The history seems to only go as far back as the Mezari clans from which all the current humans came from, and that was still millennia before the current timeline.
Pilgrims became one of minor nations. Mezari are basically predecesor of UE and Vaulters. Horatios becomes....well....Horatios. I think Humans are fairly widespread in galaxy. UE, Vaulters, and Horatios (if you count them) just happened to be more relevant in term of galactical power.
@Lord Admiral Spire What about the humanoid dark-skin people in one of the new DLCs, the ones that start out with a huge tech advantage but take much longer to research new stuff, are they human?
While I normally like playing good guys like the other 94 percent of gamers, I have to admit, it's fun when strategy game humans... take it as far as all the others. Like, there's always warrior race empire guys, but it's fun when we play ball just as hard. Would you like to know more, citizen?

Access to four utility slots which can be used for either a jammer of space for extra troops, the other three can be taken up by standard warp engines although you could jump up to the yellow warp drives to give you a much larger area of operations, but it means that it will cost you more in the ways of time and resources, vs the standards which I would only recommend installing only two rather than three because we’ll get to that later on and lastly weapons, when it comes to the hoard build, you’d simply go kinetic all the way, this means that you can gain access to things like the torpedos which at the start of the game already does sixty plus damage, which only increases over time with more research, but that being said, the standard one does a max damage of about seventy which is a lot, but it just has terrible reload and can only have one weapon at a time, however that’s rather inconsequential when when you consider that if you’re civilization is already highly industrialized and industrial based, then you can basically turn what most factions would usually have to wait say about forty turns just for a destroyer, vs you constantly pumping out new ships ever two turns, and if you’re really good and high tiered you can basically cut the space time to basically one turn per ship, yes they’ll explode as soon as they’re hit with anything larger than a politicians ego, but it ultimately doesn’t matter because at the end of your turn you’ll be respawning new and more ships all the while they’re waiting to build their replacements, plus the overall fleet cost is actually staggering being that they only cost about two credits each means that overall fleet costs can be lowered all the while ships like the Zolya make for fantastic interdiction/ interception ships making them perfect for rapid expansions or redeployments.
I just realised that the alien that kneel before the guy is the same alien than in the corpse pile in the following picture... you can even see the weird egg he was offering the human
Every sci-fi needs some proper space fascists.
"Some call them fascists..but I...call them heroes"
@@sciohermetikum3902 Some call them trash, me i called them treasures
They are not fascist, they are monarchist
Facist Monarchy is possible.

1:09, does it look like the solider is wearing ADVENT Trooper Armour from XCOM 2?
I does look pretty similar
Got to love the contrast between the shiny optimism of the propaganda with the bleakness of the dieselpunk cityscape.
A wonderful terrible future of mankind in space.
well we did just vote trump
OK, you are just over exaggerating. And before you say in right wing, I am a liberal.
This is greatest future mankind can have
I mean, they share a galaxy with factions like the riftborn and the cravers.
Being autocratic isn't particularly the worst idea.
I have been searching so long for this
Diversity done right.
Best faction with best intro , for now!

Typical NATO
The Dark Age of Technology in 40k.
Did they kill themselves just like the Endless or ascended into more powerful beings?
100% unknown right now. Probably won't ever find out either.
@Lord Admiral Spire
What about the humanoid dark-skin people in one of the new DLCs, the ones that start out with a huge tech advantage but take much longer to research new stuff, are they human?
I’m doing my part!

You know what I want, I want a game with old battlefront game play based off of the endless series, that is my fucking dream game.
Red - does not mean communism. What communism in the Empire?
Soviet Union, Mao's China are two good examples.
***** You got a problem with terminology. In the Soviet Union and China has been a one-party parliamentary republic. Not empire.
Owe my bad, they didn't call themselves one.
The BRITISH EMPIRE used red...
I LOVE this video, this is my favorite faction video by far with cravers coming in as a close second.
where to enlist ?!
1:10 Thought that was an ADVENT Officer from XCOM 2 for a second there.
A better version of the Imperium of Man
Imperium of Man if Games Workshop was French
While I normally like playing good guys like the other 94 percent of gamers, I have to admit, it's fun when strategy game humans... take it as far as all the others. Like, there's always warrior race empire guys, but it's fun when we play ball just as hard. Would you like to know more, citizen?
Trying to run a UE that treats all races as equals and strives to build an empire on equality and peacefulness
Then Horatio declares war on me for the 4th time and the game promptly suggests Planet cracking as my next research
Keen as fuck, please gimmie
