- Fully welding in Scott Rod Inner Skirt Panel
Project EgoBruise is getting a smooth engine bay! My experience installing Scott rod inner fender skirt panel, and replacing / repairing frame channel rust from battery corrosion. I decided to fully weld them in, which looks nice, but can easily warp the panels. This install took longer than expected because of rust and frame channel repair from battery corrosion. Either way project is slowly chugging along. - Кино
These look really nice
Thank you sir
Thanks for the video. I'm gonna do mine now
I personally like all the holes.. the holes I fill are the firewall ones after I pulled my ac and wiper motor..I like the holes because it let's the heat go somewere..
As I’ve said before it’s sad this guy don’t have more subscribers let’s get him to 30k by June guys Share share share !!!
Man I really appreciate this. Ive never done it for the subscribers, hell I'm shocked I'm at 12k! lol. Really appreciate this brother.
@@HOUSEOFDULA man no need to thank me we should be thankful that you are making such great content keep up the good work bro ..🦾🦾
Brew2L sent me. Love the fox content 👍🏼
Great work Mike! You know more about fox bodies than the people who assembled them back in the eighties. Enjoying the process thanks for the ride along.
Thanks Brian! Appreciate the kind comment. IDK about knowing more than folks that assembled them lol, but you learn a lot tearing these cars apart.
I watch a lot of these kind of RUclips Foxbody vids, and you do a really great job. I’m sure it’s a ton of work filming and editing this stuff, but it’s worth the time and effort you put into it.👍
Appreciate it Mike. It truely is a ton of work lol, tri-pods, cards filling up, mic turned off, batteries dying. Then making 4 hours of vid into 20 minutes of something understandable. I still love it otherwise I wouldnt do it, but yes, my engine would likely be done if I wasnt filming it!
@@HOUSEOFDULA your stuff is better than just about everybody’s IMHO. I have never made these kind of videos, but I can tell it’s a ton of work to do them as well as you do.
1979 Mustang 302 has the correct adjustable clutch cable.
The 302 still was not a T5, so you saying a '79, 302, had a quadrant on the clutch pedal?
@@HOUSEOFDULA The 1979 302 had a SROD 4 speed. There was no quadrant on the clutch pedal. It has an adjustable cable from the factory.
One aftermarket source is
Pioneer Clutch Cables CA-308
@@sbf_fox2434 - Sweet! good to know. One reason I went this route was I had a space MM cable, but still had to source a T5 pedal cluster
@@sbf_fox2434 - Yessir Im aware, I had a quadrant, and a t5 mm clucth cable laying around. I wanted a firewall adjustable cable and quadrant to help fie tune it, so I only really needed to source a T5 pedal assembly.
Been watching since you started on the 86. A Great & Needed video. Thanks So Much Mike.
Lunking good!!
Best video I’ve seen on the install of these panels, and a proper install at that. Nice job! I’ve subscribed.
LONG WAITED REPLY! I typically reply to as much if not all comments. Somehow missed yours. I appreciate the heck out of that man thanks for subbing.
Nice work, Mike! I'm really enjoying watching this project progress. Thanks for bringing me along!
My pleasure!
Looking forward to seeing Your

Best wishes!
You and me both! Thanks Ferdinand
WOW Mike awesome job can't wait for the next video!!!
Thanks! Man this took a while lol
Love your channel & your Instagram. Thanks for all the extra work you put in so we can enjoy everything.
Thank you so much!
Nice work Mike! Will be doing this in my 83' at some point. Thanks for the how to video!
You bet! man hope to at least help other showing my experience. Like I said may not be the BEST, but works for me with my tools and talent (or lack of lol)
I can't wait to see the finish project
Nicely done , looks great
Good job Dula!!!
Hell yeah brother! Nice job. Keeping me motivated on mine watching your vids! Keep it up!
Miller Time after that job! Cheers!
nice!!
Appreciate it Brew2l! Love your content still do this day man.
@@HOUSEOFDULA Same here brother 😎
Nice job, my welding skills are lousy so i can apprecate what you were able to do.
Thanks 👍
Panel bond 8115 if u wanna save time. That's what I did.
Great work!
Thanks Eliseo
Looking good man! I love those panels. I got them in mine as well.
Makes a hell-of-a difference IMO
Nice!! My covers just came in yesterday! Don't have much rust, so thinking of cutting then using panel bond and rivets, then body work to smooth out.
Great job! I just did the LMR panels and they don't cover the frame rails which is kind of a bummer. Scottrod is definitely the way to go.
Both serve the nice purpose of easily filling and smoothing these swiss cheese panels ford put in!
looks good man
For your 1986, do you have any we sit or anything that sells the wiring harness, I have an 1986 3.8 v6 and I wanna 5.0 swap it
I have such a gap where the bottom panel meets the frame rail. Like you said in the video, the frame rail curves but mine seems more curved than yours (1993). I can actually stick my fingers in between the panel and rail. Any suggestions?
Mine we're the same way. I just massaged the lip on the frame rail with a hammer to make the welding spot a little straighter. Then the rest of the gap, when I started tack welding the panels on I just tapped the scott rod panels lip to close the rest of the gap.
@@HOUSEOFDULA Thanks.. I will give it a try. I have the frame rail covers as well so that might help out with the gap too. I think the biggest challenge is gonna to be removing the sway bar brackets and all 20 spot welds lol. Thanks again your videos are a huge help.
I know I am late to the game on your channel but I am curious. Are you using flux core or Mig to weld in these panels? I need to frame repair as well and I am trying to see if I need to get a dedicated flux welder or possible Mig
MIG. Always use mig if you cam, flux "works" for "just get it stick together" projects, like on a farm, but not for auto sheet metal, really need gas to get anything decent. I started using MIG over flux and will never go back to flux.
In my opinion, You did a EXCELLENT and PROFESSIONAL JOB on those panels. Great video!
Thanks! I dont know about professional, Im far from that but at least its in lol
Nice job Mike. I already know how you are going to do the wiper motor. I had intended to do mine that way and just didnt get to it.
Yep! Hiding it in the fender. Not totally sure I want to go that far, or clean up the old one in the stock place yet.
@@HOUSEOFDULA I actually though you were flipping it to the inside of the cowl. I've seen it done a few times.
Looking good! I just tubular front swapped mine. I was going to go that route but I love it chopped. Still looking for a rocker piece if you have any hook ups. Keeps the vids coming love the build
Thanks man! Still looking as well, will def hit you up.
Hey mike, what do u think is better? 3.55 or 3.73 gears, gonna get some soon, great video man btw!!! Keep it going
Man that depends on a lot, T-5 or auto, boost or no boost, tire size, etc. If its stock-ish with bolt-ons just run a 3.73's. Both my foxes will run a 3.73, but its not the best IMO for a manual trans and trying to build boost, 1st is almost useless with my On3 car.
@@HOUSEOFDULA thanks man, I think I will run 373! Thanks again for the advice
@@HOUSEOFDULA car is a 5 speed lx notch, mostly stocking, I guess 373 it is!!
