- I scored! and picked up these aluminum bumpers.
Did you know there are FACTORY Fox mustang aluminum bumpers out there for your fox, front and rear? They are rare but they are out there. Only made from 79-81 and a random select few! I scored and picked these up. You 87-93 guys can benefit from the rear bumper too.

The last few years of Fox Mustang came with factory fiberglass reinforcements. Since my 86 has a Cervinis Stalker cover it made sense to lighten up the front end.

This is crazy I saw the video so I went to check on my 79 base model coupe, and it has both aluminum bumpers. I had never heard of them. This is so cool!

I think in the later years Ford may have used fiberglass bumpers from 87-93.

I always wanted the aluminum bumpers for my 85 Mustang. Great job getting the bumpers.
I checked our 1980 Capri, both aluminum it was an RS 2.3 turbo car so it fits with them being on the higher end cars
So this makes my lil coup high end ;) Sweet. Definitely seems to be the case.
Recently found out my rear one is aluminum on my 82 never noticed pretty dope.

Also completely NOT fox related. Im testing the waters out on a 21:9 aspect ratio for those folks with ultrawide monitors or watch on TV cinema style. If you hate it or like it lemme know.

just scrapped a bunch of them . was saving them had them listed no one came to get them kept 2 for my capri

My 5.0 Pacecar has steel, I found Alyoominium ones on a 79 turbo 4 cobra.

My 1982 gt has aluminum
In my little experience of owning strictly 79-80 Fox Mustangs and a Capri, they were commonly found on base NA 2.3L models. Maybe a little weight loss helped compensate the low power of the engine. My former Ghia V6 Mustang and my current Ghia V6 Capri both had steel front and rear, and a friend's Ghia L6 has steel as well. He also has a Ghia L4, and this one has aluminium front and rear. I weighted them back them, my measures were same as yours, steel bumpers are a bit over double the weight.

I heard about those aluminum bumpers probably 20 years ago in muscle mustangs and fast fords magazine and I don’t think I’ve heard of them again since. I’ve owned numerous mustangs and have never seen one in front of me.
They exist! But prior to this same here. I had found 2 fronts and a rear and bought all 3, egoBruise will rock front and rear ones.

Man these are the pinacle of lighting. Supposed to be GREAT. But really $$$ IMO. For the coupe, I'll liely go that route. Im yet to find a good retrofit, and the holleys are abount as good as it gets.
Had them forever, got them on an 80 Capri 255 v8 donor car. Be careful, the steel fasteners corrode like a son of gun.
These were found mainly on turbo 4 cars. I have not seen them on a v8 car.
In my experience, mostly on base models actually. Had two 79 2.L 4 speed, very few options, both had aluminium bumpers.
I compared the weights then, it's on FourEyedPride, the aluminium bumpers are little under half the weight of the steel ones.
I remember some time ago people were doing full build a 60s Camaro and you just needed a vin number to put it in the street.
Why can't people do this with the fox body?

Not sure if you know about this 87/93 mustangs that were 4 /6 bangers had glass that were half as thick as the V8 cars

Hey I’ve been watching from the start and also have a sn95 2.3 ecoboost and I’m going in a similar route I have the Volvo electric steering as well but you have to look into Bruno steering they have a gps cam harness that changes the speed of the pump for better steering at low and high speeds very cheap and I’ve bought from him before super nice and not junk. I also got the same intercooler but I need help with what to do with the sensor in the stock one have you figured that out??? Great videos bro keep them coming 🤙🏼
