Anklam is a little town at the Peene river near Usedom island in Pommerania..
"Auf Streife" is a word for example when the police in your local city drive around with the police car and kind of patroling around the area, so it means like patroling service.
At the end of the video Tom shows a 'Volkischer Beobachter' sign. That was the official newspaper of the NSDAP.
Anklam was the location of a military academy prior to WW1 and the site of a Wehrmacht prison during the Weimar/TR time. As always, great video.

Völkischer Beobachter (38:10) was a German newspaper/magazine. Translated to something like ”Eye of the people”.

25:13 Are those diamond and cross swords added to the Knights cross? Those are super rare. I can only think of a few people who were awarded this merit. SS - Oberst-Gruppenführer Sepp Dietrich being one of them.

Very interesting video. I really enjoyed it. Definitely would like to see a future video on silverware items. It's an area of collecting that is gaining momentum.
When displaying daggers in cases,how do you keep the items from sliding or moving when standing up? Just pressure against glass from backing?
That's all there is to it. The glass gently presses the piece into the padded backing.

well tom im watching back to all your videos and i love them. ill make one observation , ive been to this ovms show, and the sellers chase off buyers by not being friendly and talking with the people in the shows. your always friendly, more are not. if a seller isnt friendly i dont care what he has i want, ill pass him by. i set up at small shows in sc and nc and i always talk to everyone, listen to vets stories and are friendly, but some of these big heads at these bigger shows need to learn how to converse with people. in other words, not be such a asshole to people

I’m American and I agree with most of what you said...many of these things are ‘ill-gotten’ and taken as spoils of war or ‘trophies’. After fighting in 3 deployments I can say that if we acted like our grandfathers, we would’ve been court martialed. So we did learn.
Unless the veteran chooses to sell something himself and got compensated, the rest is just the loot of an undisciplined army.
What is the meaning of these item's you speak? Please elaborate on the proud history of the Third Reich and the wholesome heritage you so much cherish. Most of these item's have exchanged hands many times over the years. Sold at auctions in Europe to collectors from many nations, not just Americans. Many American collectors have direct German heritage or have immigrated from Europe. Don't be such a sour Kraut, get over it.
