  • Well collectors, here we are again...
    00:00 Shameless dog plug.
00:43 Here we are again... Drinking ensues.
03:19 Tom opens his own mail and fails geography
05:09 A white box from Florida, Bob Burns cutter endorsement, and a pretty Luftwaffe dagger.
09:53 Another Florida box covered in postage, Tom complains about popcorn and proper packaging to the disgust of Ob, and finally stops his insufferable griping when a late 1198/38 SS and a choice naval pops out.
21:47 A box from Houston, where Tom reveals he was once "bitten" by a scorpion. A nice, complete Eickhorn bayo with the troddel and frog appears! Also a toned Haenel Suhl SA with good scabbard paint and a belt loop, a virginal Hörster Army, a very late war 1942 SMF SA (RZM M7/9), and a Kolping Army, with the beer mug trademark.
    33:31 The Larry appears.
51:49 Post-Larry shock, a display of medals, and an Eickhorn Government Official with the small portepee. Wow.
1:14:24 NO SPOILERS. A back to back heart attack bonafide bonanza ensues. Tom nearly expires.
1:29:30 "Just one more thing..." A Gebr. Heller NSKK is lovingly scrutinized.
    1:34:46 "SO..."
    BOILERPLA... ER, GENERAL INFO:
Tom, Deb, and Ob would like to thank everyone who have been kind enough to send in gifts. Seriously, you guys are just the best.
I'd like to thank each and every one of you who take the time to watch DtC, and am very grateful to everyone who takes even more time out of their day to comment. In a perfect world Tom or Ob would be able to engage with everyone in the comment section, but alas the world is far from perfect. Tom doesn't know how (and refuses to learn) and Ob is something of a Luddite.
    FAQ & A:
Q: I have a burning question about something in the video! What should I do?!
A: An email sent directly to Tom is the best way to get your question answered, because while he most definitely reads each and every one of your comments, he hasn't quite gotten the hang of replying to them in the comment section, and is not likely to in the foreseeable future. Or ever. Seriously, he still calls RUclips "the U-TOOBZ".
    Tom's personal email is: herrwittmann@gmail.com
You can also call him if you prefer (856-866-8733) between the hours of 9 AM and 4 PM, EST. This may be slightly more difficult because he's forever running around away from his desk, but it's worth a shot.
Q: I have an amusing anecdote, scathing criticism, or heartfelt compliment that I deeply need to express and I require / demand / long for a personalized response! What should I do?
    A: See "A" above.
    Again, Tom's email is: herrwittmann@gmail.com

Hey guys, I don't see that anyone has already answered this, and if I missed it, I apologize, but on the standarte, the honorific dated March 16, 1935 commemmorates the date that Hitler formally repoudiated the military limits imposed on Germany by the Treaty of Versailles and began the process of re-arimg the Reich. My research indicates that the March 16, 1936 honorific is most likely a celebration of the one-year anniversary of German rearmament, ~ Charlie Eklund

I am the consigner of the standarte. I was always puzzled by the dates. I appreciate you teaching me the history and meaning behind that. You know your history!

You had an artillery swallow tail standard, finial, battalion & streamer ring with streamers mounted to a half staff that was cut back in 1995. The flag material is silk. It was listed for $12,995.00.

Yes....and history deserves respect....it is oaky to asy it....but the behavior must follow the words.... I have an uncle who died in Normandy and my father-in-law was a German soldier who fought in Stalingrad and managed to survive....you like to drink and smoke....it's allright, but at the right time when its more appropriate.... I am about 80 years old and I am an historian and still keeping busy with it.... and about these artifacts I know a lot more than you think.... you can bet on that....believe me I like this man and he is an honest man.....that is true, but a little bit more of class would be appreciated.... @@phil-em-in
