  • Well Johnny has gone home and taken his ability to not totally mangle the pronunciation of German language with him. To cope with this terrible loss Tom and Ob double down on drinks and box opening, two of their favorite things.
I'd like to thank each and every one of you who take the time to watch DtC, and am very grateful to everyone who takes more time out of their day to comment. In a perfect world there would be endless time for either Tom or Ob to engage with everyone, but alas the world is far from perfect.
    FAQ & A
Q: I have a burning question about something in the video! What should I do?!
A: An email sent directly to Tom is the best way to get your question answered, because while he most definitely reads each and every one of your comments, he hasn't quite gotten the hang of replying to them in the comment section, and is not likely to in the foreseeable future. Or ever. Seriously, he still calls RUclips "the U-TOOBZ".
    Tom's personal email is: herrwittmann@gmail.com
You can also call him if you prefer (856-866-8733) between the hours of 9 AM and 4 PM, EST. This may be slightly more difficult because he's forever running around away from his desk, but it's worth a shot.
Q: I have a amusing anecdote, scathing criticism, or heartfelt compliment that I deeply need to express and I require / demand / long for a personalized response! What should I do?!
    A: See "A" above.
    Again, Tom's email is: herrwittmann@gmail.com

I love your videos they are so interesting and gives me calmness and soothes my anxiety because all of the other things you hear on the news ect is just depressing and upsetting so please dont ever stop smoking and drinking while teaching us this important history that will be gone forever if people that have this knowledge like yourself ever stop putting this content out for us to see and hear! God bless and long live Mr. Wittmann!!

You made my day Tom. Just got out of the hospital and your DTC series was on. Love the videos. Don’t ever change them👍👏👏

When these DTC started I was in the hospital as well with severe COVID and breathing on hi flow oxygen. Couldn’t concentrate very well but I still watched these as it was something that I enjoyed while away from my collection, friends/family. As close to tangable as I could get in isolation at the hospital.

Mr. Wittman, I’ve commented something similar before but I’ll say it again. I knew nothing about the hobby and just happened to see your “into the vault” episode w Alex and I was hooked. I had just finished every video you put out when DTC 1 came out and the content has only gotten better. 2 young kids, a new house(with an addition in progress) has stopped me
From owning my first piece, but I hope that changes soon. Thank you for everything you do

It’s cool to see the love Whitman has for these treasures. He is just in heaven when he looks and talks about them. The pure pleasure he feels when he explains a piece is truely evident. Good onya Tom keep loving and keep bringing us examples that make us understand why you love it so much. And you too Ob it must thanks for bringing us all the action 😂

I am not and will never be a collector of this stuff but I assume the value is quite high. I would enjoy off-the-cuff appraisals as each item is shown. I like the videos and while I've never smoked or drank I sure don't mind if you do. Best wishes to you.

My stepmother's older brother, Erwin Stein, was supposedly a Hauptsturmfuhrer in the Waffen SS. I don't know that much about him. I know he had diabetes, and because of that, had his legs amputated after the War, and the SS ancestry research department was initially suspicious of his last name. My question, are there any good sources to research his records for his wartime service?

If daggers etc. are exposed to enough smoke and nicotine they acquire a unique patina of age.
