Thomas , I want to compliment you and the job you do!!! You Sir are a class act!!! I know you catch some grief at times but please ignore it! I had a friend who showed me an Army Dagger 3-4 years ago along with a German podium flag! I had never seen anything like it and had never heard of you and had been told by everyone I knew that everything at the shows was fake!I tried to buy my friends flag and Dagger when I saw it! I now know based on what I have learned from you that I offered him very fair prices even though I was ignorant at the time on the values! I have been collecting M1 Garand’s for sometime and have bought over a $1,000.00 worth of books to educate myself on Garand’s! Because of the contrast, I would like to have some German Daggers to go with my Garand’s!!! The amazing thing to me is,,, I can buy an M1 Garand in a beautiful case with acc. At CMP for the same price as a low end German Army Dagger!!! I attribute this to the promotion and advancement that you have done over the years!!! I intend to buy your books and Daggers as sooon as I recover from my last Garand Purchase!!! You are an asset to your CRAFT!!!!!

“The cost of collecting” The way I look at collecting is that it is a never-ending enjoyment. People can get enjoyment in a multitude of ways, going to the theater, eating in fancy restaurants, watching a movie, going on a fabulous trip to an exotic location. All of these things can be really great and they can give you some wonderful memories, however memories are all you have from those experiences. Collecting gives you not only the memories of the thrill of searching and finding unique items, but also the physical item to hold in your hands. And as Tom rightly mentioned the value of these items will only increase over time if you keep them in good condition. Collecting has benefits that few other forms of entertainment can even come close to matching.

Those Turkish naval daggers are nice. I have an ancestor who was an officer in the Ottoman Turkish Navy. He was a Sultan, too. He was the Sultan of Insultin. (Curly Howard voice): "NYUK NYUK NYUK!"

Thank you Herr Wittmann for another wonderful video! So nice to see some more of your hidden gems! Also the uniforms are very interesting. “AO” on the Political Leader sleeve diamond might stand for “Ausland-organisation”, the only non-German territory Gau.
I hope to see you at the SoS!

On July 6, 2016, a near-total ban on commercial trade in African elephant ivory went into effect in the United States.
It seems the certification is nothing but a money making procedure.
You can't sell, but can you trade?
Nice seeing Edgers uniform. Really Slick.

Wow, that's quite an experience to be greeted by government agents at the door! Glad to hear that you shouldn't have anything to worry about and you certainly shouldn't. These ivory laws are endangering historical items in some countries or their sale in some countries which is totally silly. I think at least the UK is possibly legislating it so that it's illegal to sell any kind of ivory and I think here in the EU there's something going on with that. While this probably won't ever affect me, I think it's a total miscarriage of justice and just ads insult to injury for the elephants that were killed for ivory back in the day to not to be able to at least take joy out of those old items. I would also like to keep my dream alive of some day owning a gorgeous German naval dagger with an ivory grip... :)

The food and drug administration should have nothing to do with customs/imports unless its food or drugs not a freakin knife. I didn't realize it was about ivory that changes everything as i really love elephants
