Thanks Tom for interviewing Patrick and I. I appreciate you including us in your video. The one item that Tom showed towards the end of our interview was a SS overcoat that someone had asked me to evaluate. Unfortunately, it was a total reproduction and we were waiting for the customer to return to pick it up. It was not anything that was part of my display and we do not own that item. Great job with our interview and we'd also like to thank Robby for his excellent photography.
Thank you for pointing out the reproduction, that's very heartening to see a dealer going the extra mile to ensure that it's clear what it was. It can be disheartening for a new collector with all the fakes and reproductions you keep hearing about.
I literally love watching you. Unlike a lot of dealers out to make a buck, your a collector as well, and you love this stuff. Your like a kid and it’s great. It’s a shame not every dealer is like you. You’ve got a great eye as well. I can’t wait to stop by your table one day. This hobby will suffer the day you retire for sure. Keep up the great job you do 👍!
Thank you for this great video! I’m glad I finally got to meet you in person! I’m the guy who bought the takedown gravity knife from your display and took a photo with you. Thanks again!!
Go to this show every year with my grandpa, it’s like stepping in a time machine.... it’s as tangible as history gets and nothing compares in my opinion!
Another nice video Mr. Wittmann. Informative and fun too. If you happen to have an extra Firemen's bayonet scabbard around (to fit an approx. 10 1/2" bladed Tiger) preferrably with appropriate frog, I would be happy to purchase it for a fair price, finding one independent of the bayonet is proving difficult. Among numerous other items, one that I would have a great deal of reservation about is the plethora, nay 'avalanche' of engraved serving pieces, and candy and nut dishes, and lobster claw pics, and ashtrays, and wine goblets, and toenail clippers, and ice buckets, and soap dishes, and dog collars, etc. etc.that are available and reputedly having belonged to AH, or EB, or HG, or,or,or... so easy to have engraved after the fact. Over the years I have seen several firearms (some of great historical import, and owned by 'advanced' collectors, i.e. Colts, Winchesters, Henry's, Luger's, Walther's and others) that I have known to have been 'improved', with a much higher caliber of deep and intricate engraving than is required for the afore mentioned more mundane items. The chicanery and tomfoolery of all the reproductions, and the various 'doctored' and assembled pieces is what does the most damage to the hobby and the hobby's image and veracity. Also many of the militaria/gear pieces (of both axis and allies) were produced in numbers in the great hundreds of thousands of units (bayonets, helmets, hats, armbands, certain medals etc.) and yet are now commanding prices completely out of proportion to their scarcity (or lack) in my opinion. No wonder people are so receptive to the fakes. You tell a story about yourself as a young collector asking a more advanced collector for his opinion about a dagger you were not 100% percent sure about, and had asked, was it any good?" And his answer you said was, "good enough". I think that story speaks to, and illustrates, the problems of the hobby in a big way, and it's your story! Anyway enough soap boxing, thanks for an entertaining video, and I also very much enjoy your basement unboxings. Thanks. Sincerely. Nick
Thank you Sir for that insight into the show, once again I am blown away by the diverse merchandise on offer, and and also by the informative and most enthusiastic people!e you talk and discuss items ,many thanks again and as always love and peace Carl FISHBURN Co Durham 👏👏👏
Oh I love the red grip 2nd model Luftwaffe with gems! It would nicely fit to my collection next to the Dingers one. Sadly I didnt find it for sale on your website.
Fantastic video Tom, and I always like the longer ones like this which feature much more. Gerhard had some choice pieces and even Walter too with the Austrian dagger....although always doubtful about any EB monograms these days....any jeweller can use a tool and hey presto ....a piece of plain 40s silver suddenly is worth 10 times more !
@@WittmannAntiqueMilitaria very much so Tom.....Walter can't help himself I guess...lol....love your AH Grosser match holder....very fine and unique one of a kind. My friend sadly no longer with us was the Berghof administrator, Herbert Döring told me about the silver service and how AH became annoyed when pieces were pocketed by Hitlers guests
This 2 last pieces are amazing , but the Marseille badge in gold is priceless , can you imagine him wearing it after all his battles , omg it’s amazing … is it even possible to buy it ?
I need to get me some German world war II uniforms I like collecting German world war II because it's really rare to find something that is worth something to have in your collection from the German world war ii era
Another great video Tom. Is there anyway you can post or list some of the vendor websites? A lot of us would love to be able to come to the shows, but cannot. So much great stuff. Hopefully someday this show will come to Florida.
Looking at that Herman Goering doll, didn’t he carry a S&W revolver instead of a Luger? I believe I have seen such pictures. Oh, thank you for another very entertaining vid.
Great video Tom. QUESTION: where are the gravity knives on your website?? Haven't been able to find them there in months. Just assumed you didn't have any for sale, but this video proves otherwise. Thanks for making these and kerp them coming. My son and I watch them all.
Great video Tom, you're a great teacher. Please, could you show more prices on the items? It would help a collector to get more acquainted with prices etc....(I like the longer Vids)
Tom I have a question for you. Being a young collector myself I often wonder the future of the hobby? What are your thoughts on the future? Can you see the hobby declining due to little youth involvement? Would love to know your thoughts.
It is exactly this kind of question that makes me wish I could get Tom answer the comment section directly. I need to find a way to makes this happen. Until then if you want to pose this question to him in an email (herrwittmann@gmail.com) I know he will be delighted to answer.

And Patton came through and told them get them son of a bitch in bags of those tanks there to take limes not save them. And Patton was thinking about the fuel
Hello Patton believed the sandbags would slow the tanks down and he wanted speed and assault tactics. He may have been correct but other nation crews wanted the extra protection.
Me, MilitariaReviews should do a video about this one and give their opinion because aside from Gerhard's usual fake trinkets there was some different, even convincing stuff too. Like is it any good?

The same dagger is featured twice in this video… the one with the owner’s name etched into the blade ‘Ernst…’ Think it was a Hitler Youth knife.
It happens. They were probably hung over.
The Austrian Airforce Dagger Maker that Walter K is displaying is a Z E I T L E R not a Z E I T N E R. Its pronounced with an L not an N.
