Joshua 1:9 | Self-Confidence | Mornings With Mike

In this video, I am sharing Joshua 1:9 from the NLT version of the Bible. I really love this verse. I really wanted to have a talk on confidence, our self-esteem, and the way that we carry ourselves with others. Haven’t we all had times in our lives where we feel overwhelmed, questioning, and nervous by the call of God upon our lives? My goodness, I know I have.
Joshua 1:9
'This is my command-be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”'
Self esteem is your confidence in your own worth and abilities.
As a Christian, I can define self esteem as having confidence that I am who God says I am.
It’s not dependent on my own abilities (because I know myself and at times I can be unreliable!), I know that God will equip me for the work He has set out for me to do. That is part of having faith.
When you don’t feel like you’re good enough, it’s easy to want to blend in, hide in the back, and avoid bringing any attention to yourself.
But God commands you to be strong and courageous!
Not in your own abilities or strengths, but because God will be with you wherever you go. You can live in confidence because of His strength.
