I noticed Dan's discount code, but it's worth asking around with JB Hi Fi as they will negotiate I managed to pick mine for $569.00 but there's definitely some good prices to be had around the place with the SE in Australia I was actually told by JB they make more on this than any other DJI product.

I just bought Mini SE few days ago. Pilot it for the first time this evening. Man, I fell in love with the mechanism. Quite amazing videos/photos too! Previously using Dji Spark. So, most of the features i lost it with mini se. However, great budget drone!

I like that you showed it's possible to move *gracefully* into a pan and a tilt. Now I may not need the extra $$ for the Mini 2. But the wireless protocol and range plus the extra video resolution might still tip the balance. Thanks Dan.

I was looking at the mavic mini for $400, I was tossing up the wind resistance which was the main selling point for the se, but then the mavic mini dropped down to $300 It was a no brainer

I can definitely say from experience that the mini 2 is an amazing drone and is really good in handling the wind. Even at 385 feet up in the air. Absolutely love mine. The fly more combo is very very worth it and this is coming from an experienced drone pilot.

The mini se has a lipo battery. Mavic mini has a lithium ion battery. That's why it handles better. I think it has the same motors and props as the mini 2 as well.

SE have better range than mini 1.
The motors is really the reason as to why the mini se handles it so well. They are more powerful than the mavic mini

Yes 🙃 What are you expecting from the Mini 3?
My SE had poor forward speed out of the box, even in S (sport) mode. Recalibrating the RC fixed that. I do not think that it would have done well in 10-20 knot winds before the recalibration-max forward speed was probably less than 5 knots. PS I like to zoom around at low altitude for the sensation of speed!

No, it doesn't, unlike the Mini 2.

That is really weird. You might have accidentally changed the flight distance in your settings to 0m. Look into your settings?
Does the mini SE not have the orientation compass on the bottom of the are screen?
I don’t believe so, this feature was disabled on previous drones as well. You can enable a compass like feature by tapping on the map a few times.

The Mini SE has improved wind resistance over the Mavic Mini. It has the same wind resistance rating as the Mini 2 (8.5-10 m/s).

The Mini SE is definitely better in the wind.

In The Netherlands.....just like the Dji Phantom standard, it will NOT fly any further then 600 meters in urban surroundings with CE certifications.
That’s annoying. I guess that you just have to make it work with the limitations that are presented.
How do you find the range and the connection quality? Torn between Mini SE or the more expensive M2
I occasionally have issues with range on the Mini SE, if range is really important to you then the more reliable OcuSync transmission on the Mini 2 makes a big difference.

@@DansTubeTV how far do u normally go out before ur vid starts cutting out. Cuz for me it’s kinda weird, I go 300 feet up and it’s starts to cut out, but when I go over 800 meters forward, the connection remains strong. Does altitude affect signal more than distance? Cuz I went wayy further out then I went up
You need to make sure that you adjust the antennas when you change altitude and distance. Watch videos on how to use the antennas correctly. I have no issues with the video feed cutting out, I keep my drone in visual line of sight 👀

Update : The Dji mini SE in the Philippines is the King of Flyaway' Drone because of the limited signal range that has been limited to just 30meters maximum altitude and distance.. 😬

No ActiveTrack on this drone at the moment. Maybe in the future if DJI release the SDK to developers.
How was about battery, camera
The battery life is great, I’m getting roughly 25 minute before I have to land. The camera quality is great as well, all of the drone footage in this video is from the Mini SE.

You should never fly the drone that far away from you anyway, it isn’t practical or safe. You need to keep it in line of sight. DJI definitely over-exaggerate (there are way too many variables in the real world to get 4KM of range).
My Mavic air 1 uses a wifi type connection thats rated 4km and the signal is perfect, if you can't even get 3km in the country with your M2, it sounds like you have a fulty drone. Do you have the antennas pointed properly?

@@3goldfinger litchi only supports the Mini 1 at the moment. DJI hasn't released the SDK for the 2 or the SE
Litchi doesn’t support the Mini 2 or Mini SE just yet but that is no reason not to get either of them. The SDK for the Mini 2 is rumoured to release in September.
@@DansTubeTV Well if you'd like to use FPV for example in Litchi now you can't with Mini 2 or SE.
Sounds as if DJI is attempting to discontinue the Mini 1. If you don't own a drone the SE is a good starter drone. If you already own a drone and want to stay under 250 grams wait for the Mini 3.

Are the batteries interchangeable between the se and mini 2?
Yes the SE batteries are Mini 2 batteries, so you can swap them between the SE and the 2.
Mini 1 batteries will fit the mini 2 and the SE.
But
The mini 2 and SE batteries WILL NOT fit a Mini 1

@@DansTubeTV For any type of decent images of Filming this fasciation with Ultra wide angle makes it practically useless, its too goldfish bowled stretched out and pushed back.
WTF DJI are on with with lens angles baffles me, every drone gets wider and more goldfish bowl lenses.
Even the mavic 2 zoom can not achieve a flat prospective which is 50mm.

Hi, what is the max range & max resolution recording for Mini SE? Does it have 60FPS recording on any resolution?
It has a 2.7k camera and it has 25 to 30 FPS but it still looks amazing it says it can go 4 kilometers but that’s only on a really good day

I wish DJI would release a budget DRONE with just a FULL HD camera though... amateurs don't need 4k, professionals don't buy DJI MAVIC MINI models...
299 USD for a simple full HD DJI drone in 2021 would have killed competition INSTANTLY

Don't know if you know but flight intelligent batteries and better motors are the biggest upgrades but this drone is a very affordable drone with all the specs plus get the litchi app and boom you have a high end low cost drone with follow me and pre flight courses for just a extra £25 6.1.2023 👌🫶😉👍 best drone ever plus can be flown anywhere you want with Flyers ID and drone ID £10 UK 👌
