This was an excellent intorductory video Sean so thank you very much. After a lot of deliberation I ordered my SE mini today and it should arrive in time for Christmas. I'll review this video again before setting off for my first flight. Thank you once again.
I think this is an excellent guide especially for beginners. I remember the first time I bought a drone, I can't wait to get on with it and fly mine the way other seasoned pilots do! But the ugly truth is it's kinda overwhelming at first! That's why a tutorial like this is truly helpful!
I started with very inexpensive drones, my very first cost $7.00. I took I could from that cheap drone and from there bought another an another I was comfortable the basics. Finally I got the nerve to buy my first DJI and flew it like a pro. The biggest challenge is getting and knowing the controls and know how the drone flies. I have a long way to go still, but I’m over putting the drone in the air.
i might get this next month as a birthday gift, and i agree! so far it has been verry helpfull at showing me all the features as well as some other vids showing some of the limitations due to things like it being a wifi drone

I've been considering a drone for a long time and came across the Mini SE combo at an affordable price . After watching your videos, I made my mind up, so thanks for a great tutorial .
This video has been invaluable for me and I really appreciate the effort put into it. Two minor things that weren't mentioned though, the need to (and how to), calibrate the compass and that Battery care is quite complicated and worth researching. For a landing pad, even a large piece of flat cardboard will do. It'll be far better than starting in the grass.

Very nice and simple explanations. It's how I like to teach. Your tone was pleasant as well, true Canadian style. lol I definitely needed the beginner nervousness going away reassurance. I'm afraid of heights and got vertigo when I first started. It went away the more I flew around. To me though, I'm not just nervous from the vertigo but it's also because I'm afraid to hurt someone with the drone accidentally or lose the drone. I'm glad that's a normal feeling. I just need to fly more and gain that confidence. Thanks for the video!
I think the mavic mini and mini SE and mini 2 is perfectly priced, pro's and con's with all 3 models. Personally I'd forget about the mavic mini due to wind 4 rating, the onlybreason I would choose the mini 2 over the SE is the controller feels a million times better In the hand and uses ocusync 2. If your not too bothered about flying over 1 mile away, go for the SE and save well over £100. Personally I spent the extra money for a rock solid connection on ocusync 2.

I found this to be a good guide for someone starting out. Lots of good information. My tip I would add though is to be as far away from TREES and other obstacles as possible on your first flight! I thought it was strange to be showing a demo flight where you take off and land between trees. You also couldn’t actually show the complete return to home feature because it needed to land near trees.

A fantastic video! Thanks. I got my Mini SE today and had great difficulty figuring out even how to turn it and the controller on and off. Now I know. Of course, the temperature is 12 degrees F with a 30 mph wind, so I don't think I will be flying today. Maybe I'll rewatch your video.
Got my SE today ahead of schedule....your video was a huge help...I did not get the fly more combo....the remote took about an hour to charge...the drone took about 3 hours...did the firmware updates after everything was charged and that took about 7-10 minutes....did my first test flight in my backyard and this drone was perfect!!!...easy to control and steady...loved it....one of my first drones was the Phantom and this one blows it away...I already placed my order for extra batteries and battery pack..I believe my flight time was about 20-25 minutes....not bad for the first flight...THANKS AGAIN!!!
Currently in the market to buy my first drone (which, after research, will be the DJI Mini SE). After watching many instructional videos this, by far, is the best and most comprehensive without being painfully long or inadequately short. Excellent job! Have flagged this for easy reference when I get my drone. Well done! Thank you!
One thing g I would advise for new drone flyers is that you learn hand take offs and lands, that way no matter what the ground is like you are still able to take off and land, no need for landing pad or filling the motors full of dust and dirt

So I watched this again and did my first Mini SE flight. It was great accept midflight I decided to switch modes c to p then a screen came on for me to update while flying?! But it flew fine throughout. And landed fine. I had already updated previously. The whole DJI software is amazing ,I think smarter than my phone! Thanks for your video!

One of the best tutorials I’ve seen…..I would suggest when showing the controller or app screen that get a little closer so the picture fills the screen. The flight video was again..excellent and obviously could only improved by making your take off location farther away from the trees so the drone could return home and land itself. Great job and thank you for doing this for all us “newbies”😊

You mentioned near the start of your youtube video that the “basic” sells for $299 (I too am in Canada, and assume you were quoting Canadian dollars). Are you at liberty to mention where it’s available for $299?
Great guide.. flew this drone for the first time today. If you're a gamer who grew up playing on a controller you'll adapt very quickly. You can also change the control stick layout settings which I like, there's 3 modes and a custom setting for this. My first time flying a drone and have to say it's a weird feeling watching something you've paid good money for fly away from you lol the range is crazy!
Very good at explaining all you need to know about flying this drone. I have many drones. My new drone is the dji mini 3 pro. Looking forward to putting it in the air. I sure remember my first drone. I was very bad at flying it. But as i got used to it. Now when I am flying the drone, I am hardly thinking how to fly it.
Excellent video sometimes when watching tutorials it’s easy to lose interest but not with this one gave all the relevant information in the right order and kept me interested to the end a+

Those instructions are the worse thing you can ask for when getting something you want but the instructions show things unclearly

Who would want to buy toy category drones now when there's the Mini SE that's priced like a toy but does real camera drone functions?
Me.... i would like to buy MJX brand before it cost 250$. Then i saw these. Hell yeah 50$ extra with DJI's ease of use and quality
I mean Tello has a camera and stuff and it’s only $170

I was very bad at flying it. But as i got used to it. Now when I am flying the drone, I am hardly thinking how to fly it.
Excellent video sometimes when watching tutorials it’s easy to lose interest but not with this one gave all the relevant information in the right order and kept me interested to the end a+
