I always use the UAV forecast app which is free to download and has all the information you need before flying. I always make sure before I fly that it's 3 Kp and under which is telling you how much static is in the air and can knock out your gps. Really easy to use and a definite tool to use before flying.
….one thing about controlling ANY THING that flies; you don’t start at the top. That what my flight instructor told me!!!! Great video and I will use these drills.
Cool beans. I've been flying RC planes and 'toy' quads/drones for almost a decade, just about to get one of these, brushing up on the basics. The last quad I bought is about six years old, an MJX. I used to stick a Runcam HD to it using the 'credit card' mount technique using zip ties. I feel like I've been asleep all this time, and now all of this tech is available in a tiny affordable package - they're now basically mainstream appliances. Stuff like this (3 axis gimbal, GPS etc) could run into the thousands 'back then' which still doesn't feel all that long ago. Crazy.
I have had my DJI Mini SE for one month. It is the first higher quality drone that I have purchased and I am very happy with the drone. It is easy to download pictures to your iPhone with just a push of a button from the picture viewing screen. The drone is very stable in low to moderate winds both ay ground level and 200 feet (the highest altitude that I have flown). The controls are easy to use and the drone reacts quickly to movement commands. The batteries last about 15 minutes which I find to be very good. The drone is very compact with the wings folded. Overall I am thrilled with my purchase and I feel that I got my money’s worth four $299.
This is the most random things ever, but I recognize the background scenery in this video at the 1:10 mark. It's the Green River Gorge in Black Diamond, WA. I used to cliff jump there when I was a kid and I just took my 16 yo son and his friends there this past summer for the first time. How random is that!? And once I get good at flying my new DJI Mini 2, I'll have to get some of my own nice shots from the sky. Ok. I'll get back to watching the video now.
@@uavcoach you could be his brother. That's for sure. No offense intended. Totally a compliment. Pawn stars is great and the guys on the show are awesome and entertaining just like your videos. Keep up the great work. I'm new to drones and am trying to learn as much as possible. Thank you.
Not gonna lie, I love your videos. I just bought the mini se yesterday and am picking it up tomorrow. I'm really excited. Could you make a video on how to track objects with the mini se?

YES, YES, YES ...... You hit the nail on the head ... that was the exact info I was looking for... I went through UAV coach and it was fine. However, their are plenty of youtube videos that covered all the same info. UAV coach has a lot of extra info though and a support team where you can ask questions and get answers.
Thanks for your comment! Yes, some of those RUclips videos are way out-of-date but there's a lot of good free info out there aside from our paid training courses.
Great video. I haven't flown mine yet but watching videos like this is great to remember to learning the basics first before we get into arty aerial filming.
This is a great video and very helpful! Thanks a bunch!! I am sure you have been asked this question, but I would like to know what tablet you are using on the controller? I need something a little larger than the phone.
I bought the DJI mini SE a few months back & i don't understand why it doesn't have fly lights built in!! Does anyone have suggestions as to what aftermarket lights i can buy for it?
Hi Gerald, thanks for reaching out. Yes, the iPad mini JUST fits natively in the controlled. If you have a larger iPad, you can use that as well, but you'll need to buy a drone iPad mount like the one over here >> amzn.to/3TU2Oi4
Hi Josh, glad that Return to Home kicked in! Do you know why the SE disconnected? Small chance that you have a dud, but wondering if you happen to know what the issue was? Would love to help you get back up in the air!
@@uavcoach Yeah so I flew it over a different field, and flew a lot further about 300meters this time. Got weak signal and turned around. I think their must have been something causing interference over that other field
Interestingly enough, it's not natively built into this DJI model, but if you use Litchi, a paid app, you're able to get Follow Me and some other fun modes to play with.
Hey uav coach, i just got the mini se and haven't had it out for a flight yet, but i have no micro sd card for it. Is there anyway for me to still take good shots with a 1080p res or above
Congrats! Great drone. DJI Mini SE does not have internal storage, but you can take photos or video without a microSD card. However, when a microSD card is not installed, the photos or videos you take will be of a lower resolution (720p). It is recommended to install a microSD card before shooting.

Mine looses connection at random moments. Typically around 10 feet from me but then will also fly 100 meters high with no issues at other times.
has anyone told you you looked exactly like Rick Harrison of Pawn stars? lmao! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
What are the risks of NOT having the drone in sight? Should I do it if I'm experienced?
It's a. FAA violation. Experience has nothing to do with it (vlos) is required at all times and not through a third part or through binoculars.

Hop into the settings and change from Metric to Imperial!
Why inverted controls?
Very informative. Question--is that an iPad and how did you get it to fit in the controller?
