Paper really does have more patience than people.
@@_FantasticEscapeclass 10th English chapter 4 from the diary of Anne Frank 😂
Wow True, haha @@_FantasticEscape
@ree_flowers that was written by otto frank.
Which Ernst Roemer correctly predicted and was proven right by the Bundeskriminalamt. He also made a surreal amount of money from the book. Indeed very jewish of him

If you overthink, write.
If you underthink, read.
If you have clarity, create.
To have clarity, write.
Interesting that the solution to underthinking is to "read."
Personally, reading is a safe distraction for me.
If I feel like I am not giving the decision the consideration it deserves, I'm inclined to do more writing, even stream of consciousness.
Tell me more about your approach :)
just amazing

Back in college I didn't realize i was journalling.. I was simply taking notes of whatever in my mind everytime i got stressed because I feel like it had helped me to gain my focus back. Turned out all those notes was helping me to understand the pattern and what kinda things that could triggered me.
For anyone who is hesitatant to try journalling, trust me, you should definitely try it. U dont have to decorate it or anything but just spending some time when u feel like it to note down what happened and how you feel about it. It doesn't have to be everyday, but just days when you down or have something that you want to let out but can't. It has definitely helped me to feel less stressed and become more optimistic!
I'm simply afraid of someone getting their hands on it
@@Skulltroxx, that's a common fear.
Have you considered journalling digitally?
@@Skulltroxxdigital journaling is the better option if you value your privacy
So what do I write?
@Skulltroxx I feel the sam way that's why I don't journal anymore.

Oh I just love your voice...it's therapeutic to me😊❤
The voice of genius
Your voice is so very calming and soothing
I just broke up recently and it’s because of my daily journaling that is keeping sane right now, so yes journaling is an awesome tool for anyone who may be going through a lot in life. Personally, I prefer the traditional way of journaling aka using pencil and a notebook but just do whatever works best for you.
Sorry to hear about the break up! I had a break up too in December.
One of the things that really helped me through it was Pennebaker's journalling technique. I saw it on a Huberman lab episode.
I highly recommend it.
Let me know if you need help getting started :)
I will do the same
Damnn...I am amused both by idea and the way Ali present them. That's what I look forward and spend time on YT, quality content top notch....keep doing 👍🏻❤️
Dead ass helps so much, thanks to Hamza for getting me on this
The editing and writing is so good
Journaling helped me in improving my best version of myself❤
How to watch your own thoughts? How you know what's exactly need to write? Could you please share or guide??
Hi @@iammytwinflame there, not OP but I might be able to help
Not knowing where to start is a common problem.
Instead of having a designated time to journal, when I was starting out, I had used the notes app on my phone and just wrote down whenever I had an idea or something I wanted to unpack.
Then, at the end of the month, I would pick out the most interesting ideas and thoughts and perhaps expand on them.
My practice has evolved from there, but that's a really good place to start.
Does that help?
but, more than anything, you need privacy..
Day one values privacy
facts i cant do any of this for that reason
I sort of get anxiety while writing about my deep feelings and thoughts, I really feel it
I believe that's perfectly natural. It might be because you've suppressed your thoughts for way too long. So when they come to the surface, you feel overwhelmed. Just know that they're just thoughts and feelings, specks of chemical creations, that don't define you. I really hope that you're be able to process your deepest feelings. Sending best wishes.
@@nikkhilkalia4512 thanks!
@@harryssweets8010, hope you're still keeping at it and are on the road to mental wealth
It's funny when I was young, journaling was considered to be a girl's thing (like Anne Frank or the Moesha show-"dear diary"), but you come to find out (thanks to journals like the Bro Journal) that it's one of the manliest (and just overall human things) to do. Darwin journaled, Bruce Lee journaled, Tim Ferris journals, King David journaled... and the list goes on.
Journaling is truly is powerful.
@aliabdaal really like your shorts especially with the animation/ editing.
Your content is severely underrated with its quality, keep it up man
Journaling should done on regular basis! It can help you gain control of your emotions and improve your mental health. Excited to continue my own journaling journey.
Brilliantly articulated @Ali Abdaal. Makes so much sense. Loved it !

I’ve journaled since I was like 10. I used to just write in a journal, but now I decorate it all. Either way it’s very therapeutic and whichever way you choose to journal I encourage you to try it out.

@aliabdaal a humble request, please make a playlist or series of videos about "How to Journal"
Hi Sanket, I'll be creating a small series on the following topics:
* what to write to get started
* digital vs traditional vs AI
* how to secure your journal
* how to turn your thoughts into insights
Is there anything else you would like to see in such a series? I'm keen for input
highly enthusiastic to become your intern!

Do you journal with prompts, cos writing thoughts down just as they are isn’t helping at the moment
Helllloooo! What app do you use for making your videos?
Whats the difference between diary and a journal?
Well i tried once and wrote like 20 30 pages of the thoughts and feelings i was holding in far the past 2 years ,and when i searched about why i was getting those thoughts, i have depression
I had plan to create my own journal for years already. Unfortunately, there's yet any progress. I easily got anxious over the idea that someone might read my journal without my consent- May it be physical or digital journal, which made me consume all of the thought to myself.
Hi! Just start.
Really.
If you'e afraid of someone reading your journal, you can do it on notes in your phone/computer and after you finish a journal session, you delete all.
You don't need to keep your journals.
Start now.
@@turningproductive, I completely agree.
The first word you write down will be one of the biggest game changers of your life 💪🏾

I started my productivity journey last year and been getting into digital journaling. I use Upnote as my 2nd brain but would also want to include my planner and journaling with it. is it possible so I dont need to keep switching apps.
I've tried to do journaling so many times but I would be too stressed or anxious to actually start.

Can anyone tell me software or tools used to create this video
For anyone out there concerned about privacy, I have found journalling digitally to be a great solution.
If you pick an app that saves it's data locally, that should solve many privacy concerns.
However, then you have to work out how you backup your data so that all of your memories don't go down if your smartphone dies.
It's not an insurmountable problem but not something many people think about in our age of modern conveniences :)
How to edit like you please make one video ❤
Dayone has chanhed my life
Hope you're still at it ;)
EVEN I LOVE DAY ONE ITS COOL
how much to journal and when to journal? I feel i end up wasting my time journaling. Can you tell me the times when i should journal
Hi Mojar, that's a great question.
Journalling is so free-form that there are no have-tos or shoulds.
Though this can quickly become overwhelming for a beginner.
Here's what worked for me when starting out:
I installed a simple notepad app on my phone (I used Jota for Android) and, anytime I had an idea or something I wanted to chew on, I just wrote it down.
Literally, an unfiltered dump of what I was thinking.
And then, at the end of the month, I would scan through this log and pick up the things that seemed useful and discarded anything that wasn't.
With practice, you develop and intuition for this so don't be too precious with this.
If you want more of a structure, I would say start writing down 3 things to be grateful for in the morning and, in the evening, think about what went well, what could be better and what could you do smarter tomorrow.
Phew, long comment.
I'm actually creating a beginner's course on creating a journalling habit. Just comment on one of my videos if you want to know more.
And best of luck to you!
❤❤
U can even doodle or paste the bills of spending of that day.
Or contrast between similar set of experiences let's say the kind of teamwork you all had last time in comparison to today. It will make you more conscious about detail. y
Or writing in your notes app😌
Digital journalling is so underrated.
Hi @aliabdaal i tried journaling but was unsuccessful as i have to much going on in head and able to put all on paper in a small time, any advuce for this?

@aliabdaal quick question. If i do journal and decide to journal in the morning… obviously i can write more later but would you recommend to journal once a day? or journal in the am and then journal in the pm? thanks!
Hi David, that's a great question.
Journalling is so free-form that there are no have-tos or shoulds.

When starting out, I would probably say just note down your thoughts whenever they come up. And then, at the end of the month, review your thoughts from the week and pick the interesting ones to expand.

Not knowing where to start is a common problem.
Instead of worrying about arranging my thoughts, I used the notes app on my phone and just wrote down whenever I had an idea or something I wanted to unpack.

You'll be surprised at how well-arranged your thoughts can be after collecting them for a month :)
