    Is PTH still Canada’s best-kept secret? They need more attention.
    More gold star tracks to check out: Drumhead Trial, Turn Soonest To The Sea, Cold Water, Bone Marrow, Moonlight

    The Alliteration Rody (vocalist) does with the letter H at the beginning of the song is amazing. "Hapless hills of Hollywood hide half hearted happiness, a hardened heroine hangs her head. Hear her hyperventilate, here her hands had hammered home" thats honestly some bars. 🤣

      There's another (clever?) layer because the song is all about Peg Entwistle who tragically killed herself by jumping off the H in the Hollywoord sign.

      I know this is 2 years late...
      But the final words of the verse: "her half-written history" also just tie it all back to the album's main theme: historical revisionism. Truly genius.

      @@TheBunkhouseStudios it is a very cool album. PTH are masters of having each album sound different, while still all sounding undeniably PTH.
      Volition is the point, in my opinion, where their production started to really reach top quality. Skies, Mist, Plato's Tripartite etc. Off of Volition are all well-loved tracks by PTH fans because of how they each demonstrate their different sides of their style and production.

    I would honestly recommend checking out all of their albums in order of release. Scurrilous is my favorite album. But that album takes some time to see what's great about it. Most of their other albums are pretty accessible for the genre.

    PTH is one of the best. This album is such a nice maturity to their style and the singer has had vocal surgery I believe and he sounds great.

    • @TheBunkhouseStudios
      @TheBunkhouseStudios  3 года назад +2

      Yeah a lot of singers, especially rock/metal singers that use more distortion or screaming in their vocals end up having problems where they need surgery. His voice is awesome! I love this record, but the somewhat glassy-sounding cymbals bug me a bit. I think it could also do with a bit more energy in the lower treble, but neither are critical issues and detract very little from the overall quality of the record. I think _Fortress_ is probably the best-produced and all-around most creative and well-written record in their catalog.
