Yeeeees yes yes. More Protest is always a win. This is my favourite album of all time, they're so damn talented and still give me goosebumps almost 20 years on from discovering them.
And to be fair, I also distinctly remember the clip of Tim picking while chugging a beer and Luke fretting the notes on Tim’s guitar while curling a dumbbell hahah
Mostly agree! Love that song and probably my favorite album of theirs. I do love me some of the earlier more brutal stuff, though, so tough choice for me.
YESSSSSSSS ! My favorite band.... thanks for doing another track by them Geebz!!! I will always accept and instantly watch more Protest the Hero reactions. Seen these guys live many times and they never disappoint! Much love !! Oh and please do Mist - Protest the Hero. So amazing, the government should have used that video for tourism Newfoundland!!
Yeah, this band is so cool. I saw them live almost 10 years ago with Intervals and the Safety Fire: definitely amongst the best concerts I ever went to 🤩
@@earth23home Number Twelve was so chill. Got to hang out with them after a show and they gave us all redbulls for the drive home. At a different show, Rody gave me a beer off the stage. Security didn't love that since I was only 15 at the time. lol.
As a huge Protest Stan I'm stoked to see another one of their songs here, shame SME had to Spoil the fun the first time. PtH has a seriously special place in my heart. Went to a friend's house after school years ago and Much Music (Canadian MTV) had their New Canadian showcase going and at 4pm on a weekday Bloodmeat starts screaming out of the TV and I just sat there dumbstruck. Completely credit that moment with getting me into heavy music and playing guitar.
You and PTH warm my heart...good thing, it's -6° out right now, haha! If you haven't heard it yet, check out All Hands from their album Palimpsest, it's soooo good! Great job as always sir!
they crowdfunded this album for their 1st time and got so much more than their target they spent a bunch on hiring CHRIS ADLER from LAMB OF GOD to drum for them
Hey Geebz, just wanted to let you know that the Singer/Guitarist of Byzantine left a comment on your Byzantine reaction. His name is Christopher Ojeda, just wanted to give you a heads up that he watched your video! Soo glad this video got unblocked, this is my first time hearing Protest The Hero!
Good choice Geebz! PTH rips all kind of faces, they've got riffs all day long. Would still love for you to check out black dahlia murder! Also good luck with dark souls haha
As much as I love Protest the Hero and this album in particular, I always felt like the transitions in this song were almost non existent. Like they got to the last song and just decided to exhaust every last riff and idea that they hadn’t yet found a place for. If you listen to the whole album start to finish I think you’ll agree that this song is sort of an outlier and feels a little thrown together.
I love how this band blends hair metal with thrash metal with insane guitar sweeps with screaming and occasional djent. One of my all time favorite albums.
Love PTH!! One of my all time favourite bands. Limb From Limb is my fav by them but anything off of Kezia, Fortress or Scurrilous is a good pick. Please more Protest the Hero! 🧡🧡
I dont remember which tracks you listened from them, but their earlier tracks have tamed the beast way better than their later ones. C'est la Vie, Palms Read and Wretch are great examples of awesome songs with nice pacing. Also, PTH is Prog Metal and Mathcore! (which is basically hardcore math rock)
Honestly, probably my favourite song and my favourite PTH album. Geebz, you should react to Unexpect - The Quantum Symphony, Zeal & Ardor - Devil is Fine, and Diablo Swing Orchestra - Black Box Messiah, Superhero Jagganath, or Voodoo Mon Amour
If you haven't yet, I totally recommend Protest The Hero's "C'est La Vie" from the album Scurrilous. It's my favorite from the album and one of my favorite songs of all time.
It's prog metal. The genre is pretty diverse, including what elements from other music may be implemented by any given prog metal band's unique preferences, but odd time signatures/math metal are always a reliable indication.
I would absolutely love to hear you do a breakdown to Caravan from their EP Pacific Myth. Many consider it their magnum opus. It's an incredible song, powerful when it needs to be but also pulls back at the right points. I feel that would be a song that you'd appreciate to a higher degree than their more intense riffing all the time.
Great reaction and analysis. I met this band thanks to BabyMetal - Rondo Of Nightmare, a song heavily inspired in PTH - Bloodmeat, i highly suggest you to check it out both songs but don't worry Bloodmeat is half length than this one lol. BabyMetal is longer because you don't want to miss the Mischief Of Metal Gods Intro live at Budokan 2014, you can find a clip safe to react at "Kawaii Metal" channel, is a SuMetal solo and is totally different unlike the usual happy songs style. Here: ruclips.net/video/8WBDiLMNZcE/видео.html I'm not so into Dark Souls but i love Metal Gear Solid so I'll wait for any soundtrack you wanna share with us. Thanks for sharing this and see you next time 🤘🔥
Yo man, you ever heard Derek Sherinian play before? 😏 👀 I’ve got a song suggestion for ya that may well blow that hat off your head with him as a guest and this incredible backdrop of prog music by an up-and-coming band who the guitar player s one of my closest friends 🤩 They’re called The Enigma Division and the song is ‘Echoes in the Deep’. Let me know man, I’m excited and eager to see what you’d make of it 🤩
The perfect transition from here would be Black Ice by paledusk. Just as insane but with a much more distinctive hook. Nintendo metal is what I would call it
Great stuff as always, Geebz. Skies is definitely one of their biggest bangers. My reaction recommendations (in order): 1. Yellow Teeth 2. All Hands 3. Soliloquy 4. Caravan 5. No Stars Over Bethlehem 6. Tongue-Splitter
In an album of incredibly significant lyrics and pristine musicianship, this is my least favorite song. I hope that says something. Would love to see you react to any other song from this album and dissect the lyrics a bit.
Agreed, but only cos Pacific Myth is an EP. I still love it and listen it a lot, but most of it doesn’t quite click the same with me as their other albums.
YEEESSSSS this was my Patron pick! Thank you so much Geebz! I hope you can keep enjoying this band, maybe after your cup of coffee hahaha
You bet!
Thanks drewctaylor!
MORE PROTEST BABY WOOOOOOOOOOO
Bless you. One of my favorite songs from my favorite band.
Hell yeah such a great protest song 😍
I am a simple person
I see Protest The Hero, I click
I'm glad that I participated in the crowdfounding of this cd. I love it.
Haha same. I looked through the sleeve to find my name recently
Same. Much prefer that ship artwork. I've also still got the tee with the bats kicking around somewhere!
I would've if I wasn't like 16 years old with no money lol
I remember being so hyped for this album in high school haha
This is my fav PTH alb. Got me into the band. It's so good imo. Opens with Clarity and closes with Skies... Such a good composition throughout
Same here! As far as I’m concerned Volition was the high point of the “crowdfunding” concept.
Yeeeees yes yes. More Protest is always a win. This is my favourite album of all time, they're so damn talented and still give me goosebumps almost 20 years on from discovering them.
Geebz: "these guys are probably chilling and waiting for their coffee while playing this"
Luke in studio diaries: "Why the fuck did I write this riff"
Oh for sure, I just remembered that quote as soon as Geebz said that and I just had to chuckle a bit lol
And to be fair, I also distinctly remember the clip of Tim picking while chugging a beer and Luke fretting the notes on Tim’s guitar while curling a dumbbell hahah
I literally went "MMM!" and clicked this immediately, excited to see you cover my favorite PTH song ^^
It’s hard to think of more underrated guitarists. Their chops could cook a steak in one slice.
NIIIIICE IM HERE FOR ITTTTT!! whoever requested this is a true mvp
PTH is The goat
I saw Protest and Skies and I clicked right away. Went straight to it
Clarity off this album is absolutely amazing
You gotta do C'est La Vie by these guys. That song is an absolute masterpiece at PTH at their best imo.

Yeah, this band is so cool.
I saw them live almost 10 years ago with Intervals and the Safety Fire: definitely amongst the best concerts I ever went to 🤩
Damn that must've been an awesome show. I still have yet to catch them live
First time I saw them was with Number 12 and Misery Signals in 2009... life changing!
@@earth23home Number Twelve was so chill. Got to hang out with them after a show and they gave us all redbulls for the drive home.
At a different show, Rody gave me a beer off the stage. Security didn't love that since I was only 15 at the time. lol.
Safety Fire was great! Wish they were still around
Protest the Hero !!! W00T
i love protest the hero, this is one of my favorite tracks by them. every song is a hit though in my opinion
I really hope you get to their song C'est la Vie at some point.
As a huge Protest Stan I'm stoked to see another one of their songs here, shame SME had to Spoil the fun the first time. PtH has a seriously special place in my heart. There's an old ass video of Luke, their lead guitarist, asking for a beer while playing a Protest song in a bar lol
they crowdfunded this album for their 1st time and got so much more than their target they spent a bunch on hiring CHRIS ADLER from LAMB OF GOD to drum for them
Saw these guys during the week, they were great! Good pick!
Im brazilian, this is my favirite band ever, touch my soul I dont know why, looks like magic
Protest the Hero is an all time fave for me. I go way back with these guys.
C'mon, man! You definitely have to check out "Mist". Be sure to watch the music video for it, as it tells a very wholesome story!
100% that song is a masterpiece
This is PTH’s magnum opus. Absolutely enthralling track.
Love you Geebz ❤
Well, this and Turn Soonest to the Sea (for all you real fans out there)
Yessss my favorite track by these guys!!!
Good choice Geebz! PTH rips all kind of faces, they've got riffs all day long. Would still love for you to check out black dahlia murder! Also good luck with dark souls haha

I love how this band blends hair metal with thrash metal with insane guitar sweeps with screaming and occasional djent. One of my all time favorite albums.
Critically underrated band! Glad to see them back on the channel.
SO HAPPY to see more Protest the Hero! would love to see you do something off the Fortress album again.
Love PTH!! One of my all time favourite bands. Limb From Limb is my fav by them but anything off of Kezia, Fortress or Scurrilous is a good pick. Please more Protest the Hero! 🧡🧡
I would consider this album prog. I would say their first albums, the ones listed in my other comment, are more mathmetal.
Yes more from their first three albums please!
My favorite band, and I'm hoping for new music from them soon!
PTH…PTH…PTH…!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Plato's Tripartite is my favorite from this album. Maybe my favorite PTH song
I never put their songs on myself, but I'm always curious to what they come up with when their songs pop up.
Protest the Hero is one of my all time favorite bands.
I enjoy Thank You Scientist a bit more to these guys, but I definitely see the comparison. Cool track, and appreciate the reactions to these!
Its awesome band
If you haven't yet, I totally recommend Protest The Hero's "C'est La Vie" from the album Scurrilous. It's my favorite from the album and one of my favorite songs of all time.
Fastest upvote ever.
It's prog metal. The genre is pretty diverse, including what elements from other music may be implemented by any given prog metal band's unique preferences, but odd time signatures/math metal are always a reliable indication.
Protest the Hero is for sure prog! they're like a prog punk/metal hybrid. I really don't know any other band like them
Finally some more PTH! My favorite band of all time.
Protest the Hero and you are going to react to Dark Souls OST?? Lucky time for me! thanks for the good stuff!

It's like Christmas for you, he's already done Bloodmeat :) ruclips.net/video/9cjT3J0H1QA/видео.html
@@inksentia Nice! Then i hope he looks for BM - RON next.👍
He already did bloodmeat, go check it out!
He did Bloodmeat a year or two ago.
Never heard of these guys. Feels like Coheed/Cambria meets A7X.
Oh man, I remember Protest The Hero from the Kezia / Fortress days...
Fortress had some great songs... Bone Marrow is still a top 15 song for me.
Please do a song called "He would be riding on the subway or writing formulas on the blackboard" by "Cloudkicker" 🙏
I think you're becoming a progressive metal fan Geebz. There isn't really a "hook" per se, you just listen to it on repeat lol.
You should check out some of their stuff from Fortress. I personally think it's still far and away their best album.
Scurrilous is my favorite, but Fortress is pretty close!
Such an underrated song
I think they’re typically classified as ‘progressive metal’ but that doesn’t seem to do them justice huh? 😅
Great video as always!!
I See Protest, I Click Protest.
What about some every time I die
Having survived Hurricane Iniki in ‘92, I require more reactions during Hawaiian thunderstorms. 😂🤙🏻
This album is awesome and I wish Chris Adler (Lamb of God) would have done another album with them after Volition.
The perfect transition from here would be Black Ice by paledusk. Just as insane but with a much more distinctive hook. Nintendo metal is what I would call it
Thanks for the suggestion! That was a fun listen for me. Nintendo core/metal usually gets me. Let’s do some HORSE the Band, Geebz!
Can you do By the ton by Meshuggah
I have a song recommendation, Alpha by Periphery.
Is the camera a little bit out of focus? :D
Great stuff as always, Geebz.
Skies is definitely one of their biggest bangers. My reaction recommendations (in order):
1. Yellow Teeth
2. All Hands
3. Soliloquy
4. Caravan
5. No Stars Over Bethlehem
6. Tongue-Splitter
stranger things by periphery?!?!?
In an album of incredibly significant lyrics and pristine musicianship, this is my least favorite song. I hope that says something. Would love to see you react to any other song from this album and dissect the lyrics a bit.
@Someguy136 yea the lyrics are what keeps me from liking this album as much as their first 3. They’re just straight up bad at times. Arif was so good
I think you may have overindulged before this
Sounds like a mars volta rip off to my ears
this is their WORST ALBUM imo, but still great stuff
All their albums are about the same tbh
Controversial opinion right there
Wild take but I respect it bro
Agreed, but only cos Pacific Myth is an EP. I still love it and listen it a lot, but most of it doesn’t quite click the same with me as their other albums.
@@shortdrink873 yeaaah Harbinger is pretty fire
