What a moment for him, a once in a lifetime moment, and you can see it in his face after TD #3. Then you read of what happened to him later. Definitely brings a tear to my eye.

    Man, I'm not a Giants fan or Virginia Tech fan, but I so wanted this guy to succeed. Crazy what ended up happening to him.
    After that 2012 year where 2 of the 3 RBs became busts (Wilson was a part of this even though his part of his was just because he was injured), the league stopped valuing the RB position like it was in the past. Hell, even before that, not one damn 1st round RB from the 2009-2012 drafts, were anything special except for Doug Martin. It took three draft classes to get that back on track, now since 2015, 8 of them have been drafted in the first round.

  • @TheAnthonybryant
    @TheAnthonybryant 6 лет назад +1

    Don't compare him to Devin Hester. You could compare him to Gale Sayers. Devin Hester wasn't a RB, he was just a WR/KR/PR. David Wilson was a RB/KR/PR.

  • @timotheetessier1058
    @timotheetessier1058 Год назад

    Yea his story was an EXTRA bitter pill to swallow -
    Remember now they drafted him in 2012 after just having beaten the Pats in the SB….(again!)
    It was one of the few drafts I can remember as a Giants fan that we actually drafted BPA instead of drafting players “high” based on positions of need

  • @charlesgorman4919

  • @7Roeth
    @7Roeth 6 лет назад

    He was electric as I've ever seen. If he hadn't been injured I truly felt like he could have been like a Shaun Alexander or Tomlinson. Yeah those are high comparisons, but David Wilson had serious, serious talent. Also 1:19 Eli, well okay..., guess I'm not goin' out then, lol. Its rare that a player grasps the crowd the way Wilson did against N.O. that night, they were noticing him and he was responding. That doesn't happen all that often. It must have been fun to be in the Meadowlands that night.

    People really need to realize in 2012 how hard it is for a rookie to single handedly win an NFL game in 2 out of 3 phases. He was an electric talent and would have been so complementary to the vertical attack they already had going on. Had things broken right for the Giants, we could easily have been talking about 3 Super Bowls in 5 years.
