He would've been a better version of Hester. David Wilson was a complete player. He could return kicks & punts. He could catch and run the ball very well. He was physical for a guy his size.
Remember when there was only like two David Wilson highlight videos. Hewould had such a great career😭 now we have highlight heaven so it's all good 👌🔥🔥🔥🔥.
I triple jumped against him my sophomore year of high school at the Virginia Tech invitational. I remember being surprised to make the finals I probably jumped 44’. I watched David Wilson triple jump 50’+ that day. Dude is a freakish athlete
I almost skipped this video, thinking I've never heard of this guy and besides who cares about the Giants. But while watching this I got genuinely drawn in and instantly liked this guy. What a moment for him, a once in a lifetime moment, and you can see it in his face after TD #3. Then you read of what happened to him later. Definitely brings a tear to my eye.
The League so lucky if bro wouldn’t have got that injury he would’ve won us a Super Bowl . First to back flip in the end zone his play making ability was insane
I totally forgot about Wilson. Man, him, Jonathan Franklin (UCLA, Packers), Johnny Knox (Bears) and Javid Best (Lions) all careers cut short by neck and head injuries.
Watched his entire career at Virginia Tech. I am still sad that he had a career ending neck injury. The Giants might not of needed Saquan Barkley if he had stayed healthy. A tragic loss of talent; of nobody’s fault.
Yea his story was an EXTRA bitter pill to swallow - Remember now they drafted him in 2012 after just having beaten the Pats in the SB….(again!) It was one of the few drafts I can remember as a Giants fan that we actually drafted BPA instead of drafting players “high” based on positions of need
Legod is the best ever Some Legends gots no rings you just proved you know nothing or just an extreme fan. Wentz is the the new Brady. Watson will fade just like Robert griffen
He could’ve been so special for us I was so excited seeing him play, shame he was riddled with injuries but glad to see he continued his track career at least
Man, I'm not a Giants fan or Virginia Tech fan, but I so wanted this guy to succeed. Crazy what ended up happening to him. After that 2012 year where 2 of the 3 RBs became busts (Wilson was a part of this even though his part of his was just because he was injured), the league stopped valuing the RB position like it was in the past. Hell, even before that, not one damn 1st round RB from the 2009-2012 drafts, were anything special except for Doug Martin. It took three draft classes to get that back on track, now since 2015, 8 of them have been drafted in the first round.
If Wilson wouldn’t of had a career ending injury the league would of been in serious trouble, but now with a real offensive line Saquan and the GIANTS will make the playoffs this year💯% 🗽GO BIG BLUE🗽
He was electric as I've ever seen. If he hadn't been injured I truly felt like he could have been like a Shaun Alexander or Tomlinson. Yeah those are high comparisons, but David Wilson had serious, serious talent. Also 1:19 Eli, well okay..., guess I'm not goin' out then, lol. Its rare that a player grasps the crowd the way Wilson did against N.O. that night, they were noticing him and he was responding. That doesn't happen all that often. It must have been fun to be in the Meadowlands that night.
People really need to realize in 2012 how hard it is for a rookie to single handedly win an NFL game in 2 out of 3 phases. He was an electric talent and would have been so complementary to the vertical attack they already had going on. Had things broken right for the Giants, we could easily have been talking about 3 Super Bowls in 5 years.
Don't compare him to Devin Hester. You could compare him to Gale Sayers. Devin Hester wasn't a RB, he was just a WR/KR/PR. David Wilson was a RB/KR/PR.
Hahahahha and the back judge is right there too! Tbf I don't think he was gonna catch Wilson. Hes going the wrong way at the time lol but it looks like a block in the back to me
lol, I remember that, I had him too, I was so pissed at Coughlin and I'd spent I believe a 2nd rounder on Wilson. I don't regret it, Wilson was awesome :) P.s. I still think Coughlin short leashing his most talented player was b.s.
Crazy thought..not sure about tiki..I know not even Barkley can say it..but I think David Wilson is the only Giant to have a "Hat Trick" in a game(hockey reference)
I remember David Wilson. Dude was a beast and had to retire due to neck injuries
Ugh....anybody who makes the Saints fail this epically is good in my book. Too bad about the shortened career.
His neck injury was called spinal stenosis
just image what he would be been doing in the league if he never got that injury to his neck
Was at that game. Suck his career was cut short tho
me too man.
This kid could've been an all time grear honestly. I feel terrible for him and what happened, so unfair
Calvin Mercilus uh what happened
Quinn Murphy career ending neck injury
Quinn Murphy neck injuries forced him to retire
Quinn Murphy neck injury
Damn
Career ended due to neck injuries...😢
Legend has it it was because of 7:00
Thought it was a leg injury
Nvm
Playboi Arnie you could’ve deleted ur comment 😂
He would've been a better version of Hester. David Wilson was a complete player. He could return kicks & punts. He could catch and run the ball very well. He was physical for a guy his size.
haha
😂😂😂
Didn't have the top end speed to match Hester in return tds
Makaveli Raider better than tyreek hill
I used to call him Flip when he played for the Giants. That one season with Wilson, Bradshaw, and Jacobs was awesome.
So sad to see his career cut short, especially as a giants fan
It's sad to see his career cut short as any fan. Unless you're just cold-hearted.
BigBlue Games whaa happen to his career
EL CLUERTIO FLACO He had to retire due to a broken neck. Sad.
Remember when there was only like two David Wilson highlight videos. Hewould had such a great career😭 now we have highlight heaven so it's all good 👌🔥🔥🔥🔥.
My team has horrible luck😢. This guy was so promising then he breaks his neck
GiantsFan1734 your team... he says while the Bills fans exist
Shame about his injury, but he couldn't hold onto the ball
Boneheadedbruhs amen brotha
actually the giants are one of the most lucky in NFL history
Light Yagami the giants were so lucky they won a super bowl with a backup qb becuz Norwood missed a kick. It doesn't get luckier
I triple jumped against him my sophomore year of high school at the Virginia Tech invitational. I remember being surprised to make the finals I probably jumped 44’. I watched David Wilson triple jump 50’+ that day. Dude is a freakish athlete

Seeing the nyg logo with a 50 next to it is so alien haha it’s been so long 😢
This has to be one of my favorite games of all time, one of my favorite running backs to ever play too.
I wish he was still playing, I miss him a lot.
The League so lucky if bro wouldn’t have got that injury he would’ve won us a Super Bowl . First to back flip in the end zone his play making ability was insane
I’m a giants fan and I remember this game so friggin clearly . Stupid neck injuries ended his career.
Btw who else remembers his lit backflips
Can u do a video on the Drew Bress vs Eli Manning duel when they combined for I believe 13 tds
Hell yes!
As a Giants fan this kids retirement still breaks my heart more than any especially watching his retirement speech
everytime the giants go against the saints somebody gets 40+ points
Kymari Conley great logo
Panda The Creator thanks
Sad how his career was so short...
Waluigi- The Master of Mario Kart what happened to him?
Neck injury
Tyler Gjerazi that’s such a shame he looked like an explosive player
Dude thank you so much for making this video I was at this game and he was my favorite player I literally cried when he had to retire😂
Damn I miss this dude
I totally forgot about Wilson. Man, him, Jonathan Franklin (UCLA, Packers), Johnny Knox (Bears) and Javid Best (Lions) all careers cut short by neck and head injuries.
Johnny Knox
Watched his entire career at Virginia Tech. I am still sad that he had a career ending neck injury. The Giants might not of needed Saquan Barkley if he had stayed healthy. A tragic loss of talent; of nobody’s fault.
Devin Hester game with 2 returns
I remember his first career carry was a fumble.
Captain Kirby So was Kareem Hunt's
3:50 Weird seeing the Browns have a 5-8 record
Was that the Peyton hillis year?
Kevin Fitzpatrick No that was 2010, this is 2012...
JamTop1105 Brian hoyer and kyle Shanahan then?
Kevin Fitzpatrick Nah, Idk where Hoyer was, but Shanahan was in Washington with his father...
JamTop1105 yeah I just checked it was like colt McCoy and Trent Richardson/Chris ogbannaya and Travis Benjamin
Johnny Knox could have also been a Hester 2.0
TkBroHey yep could outrun damn near everybody except Hester.
He was faster then Hester not by much though. Guy could've been a all time great. If only he didn't dive for his fumble.
Wilson ran up the pylons at the basketball arena at Va Tech. He’s super-human. I saw every home game snd bowl he was in. Now makes beautiful music.
Freaking love you put this up huge fan of him wish he didn’t get hurt so early in his career.
Went to hs with this guy... GWHS Danville, Va. dude looked like a pro back then. Huge dude
Can you do every lions playoff lose since 2000
A & J how many lose do they have
3
A & J every win since the 60s
That would be RUclipss shortest video ever.
A & J so it would be less than 2 minutes right
Yeah, he had a hell of a game. However, he also benefited from running behind a pretty damn good offensive line the Giants had back then.
Yea his story was an EXTRA bitter pill to swallow -
Remember now they drafted him in 2012 after just having beaten the Pats in the SB….(again!)
It was one of the few drafts I can remember as a Giants fan that we actually drafted BPA instead of drafting players “high” based on positions of need
I miss having David Wilson
TheSportsGamer I don’t miss having the eagles whoop on the giants. Sucks you got Barkley
James Emsley 🐐WATSON>Wentz
Legod is the best ever Some Legends gots no rings you just proved you know nothing or just an extreme fan. Wentz is the the new Brady. Watson will fade just like Robert griffen
Band wagon. I grew up in south philly. The eagles have been like a religion. They sucked for years.
@@emsj86 this really fell back on you bruh l
Dude was showing promise. If he never got hurt he would be a beast.
Can you do flashback highlights of Jamal Lewis’ 295 yd game
Onion Rings Onion Rings I was just gonna say that game or Adrian Peterson's record.
He could’ve been so special for us I was so excited seeing him play, shame he was riddled with injuries but glad to see he continued his track career at least
Man, I'm not a Giants fan or Virginia Tech fan, but I so wanted this guy to succeed. Crazy what ended up happening to him.

Ultimate "What If?" story.
Has one of the best pre-game speeches of all time!!!! Shame his career ended early
This guy had so much potential, it's a shame it went down the way it did.
We need another player like this. I love seeing explosive players.
If Wilson wouldn’t of had a career ending injury the league would of been in serious trouble, but now with a real offensive line Saquan and the GIANTS will make the playoffs this year💯% 🗽GO BIG BLUE🗽
Both Johnny Knox and David Wilson had their careers cut short by injuries and were super good return men
I remember him doing backflips I loved him I was just a little kid and I thought he was so cool doing all those backflips
RIP X
This guy had that special factor about him. No doubt about that!
2:00 looks like the kicker already had enough by that point LMAOOO
So underrated! He would have been as great as Hester was. Plus, was a decent runningback
This giants team was so much fun to watch. Sad for players like Wilson and cruz and others that were seemingly kicked out
He single handedly destroyed my highschool football team in the playoffs 2 years in a row.
Imagine him and Barkley on the same team
Can't believe i haven't heard of this guy, good video boy!
Forgot all about this game. I watched it start to finish and thought for sure he was the next big thing.
He was such a legend
Erik Overgaard Who Devin Hester? Yes. This guy, nope.
Erik Overgaard legend is a little much.
I love this series! I really enjoy watching. Keep it up bro!!
Wow I’m just hearing about this guy. Really special

I was looking up return yard stats and apparently Ted Ginn had a 299 yard game in '09. Might look into that lol. Sounds dope.
Best Andre Johnson plays
He was a heck of a running back!
If the giants still had David Wilson, they wouldn’t have went 3-13 like they did in 2016. And this is coming from a Giants fan.
4:24 that acceleration tho!!!
Damn that block in the back 😅
Ugh, hurt my heart that he had that freak injury. He was going to be special.
What happened to David Wilson🏈🏈
Barron Wright retired due to a neck injury
Man the Giants have been blessed with great running backs in the last 20 years.
Are we just gonna ignore the block in the back at 1:02
Hahahahha and the back judge is right there too! Tbf I don't think he was gonna catch Wilson. Hes going the wrong way at the time lol but it looks like a block in the back to me
Eh, judgement call. Wasnt that bad to me. I can see letting it go.
There will never be another Devin Hester
Nice video. These guys are legends
He was a great Running back ,Sad his career was cut short because of a neck injury
David wilson was one of the most promising rbs EVER I think he could've gone to the hof
Damn, I forgot about him, he was a great player.
He was one hell of a player. Sadly injuries cut him short on what looked like a promising career.
Man he was fast... sad story. Seemed like a good kid.
Could’ve been an all timer. That explosiveness was just getting started
David Wilson ruined my fantasy team. Coach pulled him right away after fumbling
lol, I remember that, I had him too, I was so pissed at Coughlin and I'd spent I believe a 2nd rounder on Wilson. I don't regret it, Wilson was awesome :) P.s. I still think Coughlin short leashing his most talented player was b.s.
Nice vid and amazing player to make
I miss this giants team 😢
David wilson put on for danville, va now we got 3 brothers in the nfl thats whats up
The "FLIP" Wilson Show
Backflips destroyed this guys neck
I know I asked this before but You should do the game when Kurt Warner had more TDs than incompletions Cardinals v. Packers
This is sad as a Giants fan 😢
Remember watching this man beasting on returns
Crazy thought..not sure about tiki..I know not even Barkley can say it..but I think David Wilson is the only Giant to have a "Hat Trick" in a game(hockey reference)
He was actually gonna be so good
You should do every stadiums about to play like every great play that happened in that building or field if it's outside.
You should do highlights for the World Cup
(Goals, free kicks, shots attempted, yellow card, red card)
If we still had him today he would be a pro bowler
One of the many careers Tom Coughlin derailed
And now we have Tyreek "Cheetah" Hill.
I’m an eagles fan but it is sad to see his career end due to an injury just like when Brian Westbrook’s career ended
I guess you could say Wilson had a necking great game
0:22 looks like he shook hands with the ref
Can you imagine the giants w him still on the team tho?!
He is, they call him Barkley now...
@@7Roeth yeah this is a big year for Saquon.
Ref gave him a high five
