Couple questions….How are you routing your cable from the roof mount on your Silverado? Has anyone come up with some sort of mount that would allow the dish to be put over the bed of the truck, eliminating wind? I’m picturing some sort of mount above the tonneau cover, or a rail system across the box. 😂
So, we have heard of people routing their Starlink cables a couple of ways - either through one of the back passenger windows or through the rear window slide, if you have one. For the bed of the truck, there are several factors to consider, but one of the TRIO products may work in this use case. If you reach out to us via email at info@mobilemusthave.com, we can talk in more depth about routing the cable and potential TRIO mounting options for your truck!
Hi David! So, the dish doesn't have a pitch to shed water, but it really isn't needed from what we're finding. Andy hasn't had any water collection issues while using his and we haven't heard any reports of this being an issue. If you have any other questions, reach out to us via email at info@mobilemusthave.com and we'll be happy to help!
Yes but if you have a roof surface that is not compatible to vhb or porous you can spray add dicor around the landing pads for added measure to keep the water out, add strength but still have something removable.
When will they invent something for glass ceilings? Support like this already exists thousands on the market, the difficult thing is to find it for panoramic roofs.
Hello! I definitely get what you mean, but the Trio Flatmount may have an option that works with your glass panoramic roof. The Trio Flatmount offers suction cups as a mounting option and you can also add on the Pivot Legs to help with the curvature on your panoramic roof. It will ultimately depend on the strength of your glass roof and the amount of curvature, but it does seem like this option may work for you! If you have any other questions, reach out to us via email at info@mobilemusthave.com and we'll be happy to help!
Do you know if that mount or what mount can handle 100mph without fly away, i don't want to use the dish at that speed but i want that dish don't fly away on those moments
My question, since it's fixed mounted. What if the app asks the antenna alignment? Can the alignment be skipped? Apparently it's not reasonable to move the truck to find the optimal orientation. Thanks for the video.
for sure, i talk about that in the video and show that even when its not properly aligned we saw minimal speed changes. From testing this is not an issue.
Yes, for the Starlink Roam Gen 3, it does not have a motor to align the dish. Due to this, there is zero issue with using the TRIO Flatmount as the goal is to just have an open field of view of the sky. You can also add the Release Lever to your TRIO Flatmount, which will allow you to remove it from the frame and move it around, in case you happen to be parked under heavy tree coverage, for example. If you have any other questions, reach out to us via phone, chat, or email and we'll be happy to help: mobilemusthave.com/pages/contact-us

We were not able to see a change in speed when flat or pointed and optimized but checkout our friends at the Mobile Internet Resource Center who have a great Starlink guide with a lot more deep dives. Membership to their site is included if you join our membership which also gets you discounts across our entire store that generally pay for the membership in 1-2 purchases. Hello! So, we didn't notice any noise with the Trio Flatmount, but if this is something you're running into, it may be worth it to go with the SpeedMount version of the Trio mounts. The SpeedMount is specifically made for high-speed situations and has a lower footprint and possibly less drag. Here is a link to the SpeedMount on our site: mobilemusthave.com/products/trio-speedmount-for-starlink-gen-3?_pos=2&_psq=speedmount&_ss=e&_v=1.0 If you have any other questions reach out to us via email at info@mobilemusthave.com and we'll be happy to help!
how did you test this things UV resistance and long term robustness. Are the indents for the kick stand designed to be strong enough to hold this on a roof on an RV on a gravel road?
Hello! Those are very good questions. So, the Trio Flatmount is following the leading edge of development on Starlink and is a mount designed to function with a Starlink Gen 3 dish that was released only approximately 60 days ago. As such long-term testing can be tricky regarding UV resistance. What we can tell you is the product is made of high-strength ASA plastic which has highly UV-resistant properties and since the mount primarily lives in the shade under the dish we do not expect UV to be a factor. The manufacturer tests the stress tests of the plastics themselves with up to 120 pounds of downward and upward force to test for durability. The antenna itself weighs less than 5 pounds so we feel this test appropriately tests for conditions in excess of what the mount would encounter in normal daily use. While a “gravel road” could mean a lot of different things for an RV based on drive and road characteristics I don’t suspect this would be an issue however regularly inspecting the mount would be a good practice here. If you have any follow-up questions, reach out to us via email at info@mobilemusthave.com and we'll be happy to help!
This is Andy. I custom 3dprinted a mount. I am working on getting them added to the store. Email us and we can send you link once we get them up. I didn't think people would be interested, but we have had a few requests!
For sure! So, the Through Bolt/Kickstand Release Lever option comes with mounting bolts to directly secure it to your roof, plus a Kickstand Release Lever, which allows you to remove the dish and move it around if you happen to be in a location where your RV/Trailer is parked underneath trees, for example. If you have any other questions, reach out to us via email at info@mobilemusthave.com and we'll be happy to help!
So, if you're looking to just waterproof the cable through the roof connection, our Cable Entry Solutions from Icotek will work for you: mobilemusthave.com/pages/cable-entry-systems If you are looking to waterproof the cable end after removing the dish, this would require a different cover of sorts. We don't currently offer a cable cap for this situation, but if you reach out to us via email at info@mobilemusthave.com, we can help guide you in the right direction! Thank you!
So, there are ways to remove the Starlink router completely from previous versions, but we don't have any firsthand experience with converting the Gen 3 yet, so we're waiting on more information and testing before we recommend a sure route to get rid of the Starlink router. But, from what I'm finding, most people who converted their previous Starlink models are not converting the Gen 3 and just using it with the Starlink router since it has ethernet ports already built-in. If you have any other questions, reach out via email at info@mobilemusthave.com and we'll be happy to help!
Good question! Yes, there is! We sell both the TRIO Flatmount and Speedmount for the Starlink Mini as well! Here are links to them on our site: TRIO Flatmount for Starlink Mini:mobilemusthave.com/products/trio-flatmount-for-starlink-mini?_pos=2&_psq=trio+mini&_ss=e&_v=1.0 TRIO Speedmount for Starlink Mini:mobilemusthave.com/products/trio-speedmount-for-starlink-mini?_pos=3&_psq=trio+mini&_ss=e&_v=1.0 If you have any questions about our mounts, reach out to us via email at info@mobilemusthave.com and we'll be happy to help!
The TRIO Flatmount has been designed to be used (and has been tested) in normal driving conditions and turbulence (at highway speeds). If permanently mounting, it is recommended to install behind another item (e.g. AC unit, storage box, etc) for wind dampening. It is ultimately up to the end user to make sure the antenna mount is secured appropriately. When installed correctly, using both of our recommendations, we had zero issues with the TRIO Flatmount remaining safely secured. If you have any other questions, reach out to us via email at info@mobilemusthave.com and we'll be happy to help!

Hello! So, Peplinks are the routers we sell that help provide mobile internet connectivity, in conjunction with Starlink! The Peplink routers provide cellular connection through hotspot-only data plans installed in the router. You can then easily add-in Starlink to your setup by plugging it into the Peplink's WAN port and utlilize one wifi signal for both your cellular and Starlink! If you are interested in learning more about Peplink routers, send us an email at info@mobilemusthave.com and we'll be happy to help! Thank you!
Great question! Peplink is the brand of mobile routers we sell that allows you to integrate your Starlink system into your Peplink router and bond it with a cellular signal or another internet source! This can provide backup to your Starlink signal if you happen to be a in an area with heavy tree coverage, for example, where Starlink's signal may be interrupted. If you'd like to learn more about Peplink routers and which one would be right for you, reach out to us at info@mobilemusthave.com and we'll be happy to help! Thank you!
So, the Trio Flatmount would not be recommend for speeds that high. For highway speeds and faster, Trio instead recommends the Trio Speedmount, which has been tested at high speeds. I'll also note that we both recommend installing it behind an AC unit or storage box for wind dampening and to protect the Starlink dish. It is ultimately up to the end user to make sure the antenna mount is secured appropriately. So, wind is definitely an important factor for the TRIO Flatmount. This is why us and TRIO both recommend installing it behind an AC, roof storage box, or another item that can help with the wind dampening. For faster speeds, the TRIO Speedmount is recommend to help add peace of mind and to hold up better in higher winds.
I ended up just staring at the beautiful beard rather than really paying attention to what he was saying.
Me too. Just want to run my fingers through it.

will the landing feet with VHB really hold it under travel on top of an RV / Travel trailer?
Yes but if you have a roof surface that is not compatible to vhb or porous you can spray add dicor around the landing pads for added measure to keep the water out, add strength but still have something removable.

The TRIO Speedmount is designed for faster speeds. It has a much lower profile and I have personally tested it at 70mph multiple times with no issue.
And now connect without the gen 3 starlink router???😊 if that would be possible, maybe near future.
Its doable now with a poe injector and a 12v to 56v dc converter. We continue to do testing but are seeing promising results.
