I agree with Larry Madison, well done with drawings and charts...your narration was very well done also. Just learned quite a bit about septic systems, wet wells, distribution boxes and effluent filters. Decentralized wastewater treatment facilities are a necessity in this day and age. Third world countries really need help and even more developed countries like India need a huge boost in the area of solid and liquid waste treatment and recycling.

Make sure your thin PVC pipe has not been crushed by weight over the years between house and tank. They often miss this.

one of the basement toilets is not flushing properly sometimes it fills the toilets and sometimes its flushes fine but after the waters completely go down the drain you hear some weird noises and see bubbles being produced. I purchased "Doctor Drain " Natural septic treatment powder.
Is it safe to use and would it actually resolve the problem I am having in 1 out of the 4 toilets? As per the instructions I need to pour the entire package (8 oz) and flush it. They mention in the product description that it is a 1 month Dose.

I like the system but how about rain water. does it blocked the water coming in to the septic tank? for sure the ground above the pipes may fill lots of water during rainy season.

Hi Gordon, at the moment I am constructing a septic tank and found your video very helpful. When you talk about the leach field consisting of a set of pipes with small holes in the bottom, it would be great if you could inform me the size of these holes. Where I live, I could not find pipes with pre-drilled holes, and before making them I would like to know the recommended size in milimeters. What should the distance between the holes be?

You probably should lower the volume; I could almost hear what you were saying (with my volume level at its' highest setting).........

When you say dont drive on the leech field, can you drive a riding lawnmower on it to mow the area or the occasional quad. Mine is in a side field and while I am not on it regularly, I do mow it to keep the grass down

Its fine to drive a riding mower over it. I have never heard of anyone having a problem with that. They only weigh at most 300 pounds, that's not a big deal.

for the health of septic system it is best to stay away from antibacterial soap and and to make sure to get washing detergent that is safe for septic systems but the biggest concern is to Monitor and to do basic maintenance on the system and to have it pumped regularly every three to five years depending on how many people live in the house.

A properly working septic should never need to be pumped. That is just a ruse for the septic people to make money pumping them out. A properly working septic will keep itself cleaned out. Things people put in them that causes problems are grease, cigarette butts, condoms and tampons.

Wet wipes also are hazardous as they wrap together and cannot dissolve into the water . Tanks need to be emptied every few years depending on how many people are at the property due to the pH levels, incredibly unhealthy, its not just a ruse.

It would be smart to construct an integrated wastewater treatment plant for 50 houses instead of doing all this huge separate individual nonsense. Of course, the wastewater treatment plant can be designed with the future development plan in mind. Say, after 10 or 20 years, a sewage treatment plant can be modified to a sewage treatment plant for 200 or 1000 houses, and so on. Waste of time and money and hugely negative impact on Mother Nature.
