Thanks for that suggestion of using the phone's cam to film takeoff/departure and arrival/landing; I never thought of that! I also love the video subtitles tip - it's a great way to learn more about all those parameters how they interact, and what good base values are to know so as to make the step away from Auto settings.

Great content.. I'm.just a day away from opening my Mini 2, and it's my first drone. Looking to make what I'm anticipating to be a great hobby, into a passion and cash cow. Gonna learn the basics with this Mini and then on to bigger, better, drones.
BUY THE INSURANCE! DJI care it's called. Not sure your location but if you're in the USA it cost $50 up front and if you crash and need it replaced the first time costs you $50 and second time costs you $60. If you have a fly away or lose the drone all together it's $150 I believe. I crashed my mini 2 into small pond before purchasing DJI care and had to pay $318 for a replacement through DJI service center.. Enjoy your mini 2, I love mine.
Awesome, I bet you are excited. The Mini 2 is a great drone for beginners and even experienced pilots. The nice thing is if you learn to fly the Mini 2, when it comes time to move on to bigger drones they basically fly the same. Have fun! @@TheDroneCreative Keeping in mind that the valley I fly in is all zoned out. The mini 2 because of it's size and under weight can be flown with permission. Larger drones are faced with more strict regulation and my require a license.

Matthew, A serious question, I'm a newbie with drones. If I switch the display on my phone to the phone camera, will the drone continue to record video at the same time?
You can press and hold the come to home button and zoom in and out With the button that makes the gimbal up and down just hold the come to home button and zoom in and out with the back scroll button.

Hello Matthew. Some really useful tips in this video! I've had my Mini 2 for about 5 months now, and only now just discovered that the rear LED is actually a button! I understand that you can also use this button to reconnect the drone to the controller if it refuses to connect normally. Am I correct in assuming this?

I don’t use an iPad myself but from what I have read some versions of iPad/cable charge and others don’t. Seems to be a bit patchy with the Fly app at the minute. Thanks for watching!
Videos I watched about drones no one has ever heads up about flying your drone two or three feet above snow water or ice, most of the time does okay, but don't ever try to go full speed while being that close to anything that can possibly reflect back to the center I've lost two drones that way they just end up crashing down word in a second before you can do anything it almost feels like it goes down by itself

Appreciate the great feedback. I use a Sony a6400 with a Sigma 16mm lens at f1.4. Light is provided by the monitors in-front of me and a cheap Neewer LED light. Lastly I use an Elgato wave 3 microphone. This is all plugged into a capture card so the footage is recorded straight in to my PC. Hope this info helps!
i knew they took that feature away then brought it back but also took away the ability to charge the phone on and off. someone told me this so i did not update my phone because of just that feature i like being able too turn it on and off myself that way i don't keep charging the phone the whole time and drane the controller. also i subscribed to your channel you have a good channel very informative

This is very important if phone is overheating during charging, and thereby dimming the screen. Update to latest app, and restart app. You may have to restart phone to get the toggle to appear.

Subscribed!! Great content, amazing editing! Here in the southern US, the automatic charging is a nightmare. My phone overheats, shuts off, and dims the screen! This is on my IPhone 12 Pro Max also.

Every time my mini2 fly there always notification for log in otherwise you can only fly 50 m its hard in remote area where there no internet conection. How to resolve thanks
Heads up - you can download your footage straight from the drone as well to your computer. Turn it on, plug it in to the USB. On Mac open imagine capture. Also, for some reason I always have to turn on phone charging. It doesn’t remember to do it automatically. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks!!
I definitely did not think of plugging the drone itself to my laptop. I've only been grabbing the micro SD card and inserting it into a USB hub. This is a game changer.

iOS phone charging is NOT on by default, current firmware requires turning on EVERY time you fly.. A major PIA.

I echo the advice in this comment. The DJI care is such a small outlay and can save you decent money if you crash your drone. I bought it too.

The gamble button should be used to control elevation, right stick should be used for rotate and for gimbal to look up and down
