Every single (edit: modern) Persona game deals with Mental health. The persona is a reflection of how your identity interacts with the world through you. If your identity doesn't come through, it can eat you from the inside, causing isolation and depression. If it comes on to strong you lose personal relationships and gain an inflated ego that makes you selfobsessed, causing isolation and depression. Persona 3 covered how to healthy deal with you past and loss. Persona 4 covered how to realize yourself in society as you grow up to be different from expectations one way or another. And Persona 5 covered general delusions people have, how do deal with them, confront uncomfortable situations and make your mind free of your baser instincts such as laziness and herd mentality to become a healthy individual capable of living in the real world, even when it's hard.
@@lawrenceochoa8076 I really want party members of all ages with a good focus on topics regarding reflection, change, and nature versus nurture in terms of personal growth dealing with not only skills and experiences you've gained but part of yourself you've hade to give up to make room for said growth. I also really really want a more customizable mc with multiple personality options and a non specific sexuality.
Am I the only one who wants a persona game with adults being the main characters struggling with their lives? Maybe having a super natural event sending them back in time and giving them all a second chance, some want to change history and some others don't.
@@glitchbanana Assuming we have a full party of 8, I think it'd be best if 5-6 of them are roughly the same age(20-23), 1-2 of them are a little older(not too old, but like you said, late 20's or early 30's), and the last slot should be held for a younger character(one that's the typical 2nd Year in Highschool).
I think the only way we could get one with adults is in a Spin off, i son't think they would move from school, it works and the mechanics work for a High school itinerary rather and adult. With that said, i think a spin off of smaller scale and a reduce adult cast could be amazing.
Since green can also symbolize new beginnings, it's reflective on p6-p9 having a new creative team in the helm since hashino and his team are focusing on metaphor and other games. So there's a meta layer to green probably
Willing to bet that the green will symbolize luck, and how some folks are marginalized and oppressed purely because they were born into unfavorable systems. Would be cool seeing the MC and his crew change the "luck" of the disenfranchised whilst also dismantling the systems that oppressed them in the first place.
That was already touched upon in P5 though. P6 is also called Carbon internally, and given the state of the current world, it's likely to be about pollution to some extent. Additionally, P5 was supposed to be a globetrotting adventure originally, so maybe they are using that idea in P6.
I can see a major theme of Persona 6 in light of the pandemic being this- "How do you form and maintain bonds in the face of isolation?" Exploring how bonds can become strained because of bad circumstances and how it's important to to what you can to maintain those relationships. As for the conflict, I picture a strange supernatural illness that causes people to slowly become more and more scared and pull into themselves until they're mind is consumed by the Shadows, similar to Apathy Syndrome. This illness is caused by people becoming connected to a supernatural world within the Collective Unconcous, a world that's the collective fear and anxiety of the future. When victims become connected to this world their own unique area is created within it that traps their Shadow in a cage of their own fears and axinites, once the Shadow is consumed the victim dies.
Green also represents "balance", and according to Midori the "theme" or P6 is goong to be "Black and White". I think it's interesting, then, that Jose from P5R fits that theme perfectly. He has Black, White and Grey as his color palette for his clothing, with the accents (Stars and Moons) being the Grey portions i.e. the "balance". To me given the theme of Jose looking to the stars to make wishes, and the psychological themes of Green...we might be looking at a Lovecraftian "Old One" being the final boss of a base Persona game again for the first time in a long time. From P5Rs final month based on the themes and vfx I got the impression that the new P-Team mostly carry P1 and P2 as their inspiration for Persona - it just had that feel to me. And if mental health is the main focus, or one of the main focuses of the story, then maybe...just maybe... Cthulhu or something similar could end up being the final boss. Or at least one of the end game personas we could create and use. I think this is all on point because SMT Dx2 made the 3D assets for Cthulhu a year (or two?) back, and that 3d model could easily be transferred over to a mainline game since I believe those assets are made with UE, and since Persona games are using UE going forward they could transfer those assets around.
I was thinking that we might fight an Outer God alien type being considering Jose mentions he was sent by something that can’t really be described by human words in order to learn about humans. Really interesting implications for Persona 6.
I can see Nyarlethotep being a red haring villian that could reveal to be something more in DLC. We already know they plan to add additional story content after Persona 6 releases
@@phillemon7664 Yeah, with what Jose was saying I got the impression that whatever place he comes from is alternative to Philemon and Nyarlathotep's domains considering they are in dominion of the HUMANS collective consciousness. But something Alien would have a completely different spin on the whole thing, hence Jose being a scout sent to Earth to understand how the collective consciousness, and maybe even how their velvet room works. It's very interesting. Azathoth was probably a secret sneak preview to this concept. Because I'm not even sure it was a traditional Persona in the usual sense. It seemed to be much more than that - almost like it actually WAS Azathoth from deep space, but just a fragment of it.
Watching this video definitely raised my social stat in academics! You mentioned about mental health and technology that I didn’t notice both play as another role in the color green. I did figure that the color green can be associated with environment climate change. Now what if Persona 6 includes the deprecating declination of mental health through the use of technology; people relying on social media for self-esteem, especially during COVID times. Social media is a piece of technology that’s known for altering people’s mental health in a negative way, especially in children. I feel like that would be an interesting plot.
Being the color green, I personally see the game being about mental and spiritual health. Loving yourself. It would be cool if all the characters had disabilities or illnesses.
I hope they go for the mental health problems route, it really fits Persona as a series and I hope the team formed by the main characters will be focused on healing people ( sort of like what the PT do with Futaba but with even more focus on healing the person rather than stealing their heart ), maybe with the velvet room taking the appearence of an hospital room. Also nature as a theme could still fit in, maybe not enviromental change and global warming/pollution, but still there's many ways in which they can make the characters, personas and shadows be very close to nature even by going for the mental health problems as a main theme
Maybe the characters would need to reconnect with real life people and nature in a society that is more and more mentally sick due to social media and lack of bonds with each other?
Green is also a color of disease. Maybe Persona 6 will have the same storytelling as Persona 4 (you come to a new town with not that much people living here and make many good friends) but it has the theme in Persona 3 (for example, the MC has cancer and in the end you will die and lose all your friends no matter what you do). This has SO much potential, I just can't wait to see how it comes out!
I think that considering the mental health theme being quite relevant today, the protagonist could be socially anxious and depressed or something like that, but it would still be kinda similiar to P3.
I wonder what the dungeons will be like this time. Persona 4 & 5 had it revolving around characters, 4 friends and 5 villains. I wonder if they’ll go back to making something similar to Tartarus or if they’ll perhaps make the social links / confidants the dungeons?
The social links being dungeons sounds pretty interesting. 3 and 5 already had Tartarus (Fully explored up and down) so this one could maybe do a hybrid of Persona 1/2 and 4 where there's a 1:1 shadow version of the town but the places the social link's shadows are hiding are increasingly warped and become psychadelic multi-floor dungeons built around that target's issues. Towards the end of the game, Shadows enter the real world because that hasn't happened since Persona 2 (not counting 4's bad ending, or the Dark Hour)
Great video! If there is an environmental theme, it would then be cool for the new team to have various nature gods/spirits from different cultures as their Personas (just as the Phantom Thieves all got legendary rebels and tricksters), maybe with the MC getting Gaia as their final endgame persona? I saw another P6 prediction video the other day about the big bad being Nyarlathotep, what are your thoughts on that?
I think Nyarlathotep returning as a true final boss after a game specific shadow boss would be great imo. I personally think they should have the starting Personas for the cast be themed around fairy tales and have them evolve into actual Earth and nature gods and goddesses as they grow into their arcs. Persona 6 has so much potential.
If I think green, maybe it can represent two things, nature and toxicity, if atlus gives much generosity for a mainline persona game, i think it can have 2 routes with (if or if not) 2 selectable siblings, and with having two routes, they should be: Natural Route (Good route), and Industrial Route (Evil route), that would make a perfect story and aesthetic too.
When I think of green I think of greed or sickness I could see a lot of ways it could be incorporated but nature could be a option but mental health would be the one I want to see the most
i sure hope P6 uses a similar concept of P3 where the "other side" creeps it's way into reality and not the other way around where the characters just go there
The themes should revolve around nature and environmentalism, and tradition vs modernity, being set in a small, lush garden town, more akin to Persona 4
In my persona 6 story, It sat in the country village, that’s surrounded by nature, and also the main high doubt is actually a hidden place in the forest. Also emotionally has to do with fairytales green would be good for it that all purple for magic.

Also 'Green' is way too vague. Green has such a large gradient that we cannot even predict how it turns out. Acidic lime green? Arugula deep green? Salad green? Light blue green? I really loved p5’s entire vibe with it being all flashy and in your face and the whole phantom thief theming and omg arsene is so hot
I mean cool I guess.
I mean who really cares
I do. Also you clicked the video
