Quick and Clean Mine Build for No Man's Sky

  • Hi guys, I've been asked a lot to explain how and why I build my mines in No Man's Sky the way that I do, so here's a full break down of the process. My mines are not for wealth, they are strictly utility, and they provide what I need. As such, they are modular in design, so if you desire to scale them up, they can serve that purpose well. I hope this helps you to build your mines in the best way for you, and let me know what you think in the comments!

    I've been an NMS player from 2016. Usually, when I create farm like basis, i tend to overdo it and spend far too much time and materials making the farm/base nice. I also use to start creating farm basis near electric fields to avoid creating solar panels. That took a lot of time and effort to search for the right area.
    This template is so simple. I like the fact that i now know how many solar panels and batteries to create. I can now switch back and forth whenever i need materials from these little farm bases.

    I've been on NMS for a good long while now and I've never known that you can use glass cuboid rooms with solar panels like you have. I'm definitely going to use this design for my small builds cheers my dude 😁

    This is the most helpful, well done, NMS video I have seen in the years I played the game. For a number of reasons. It's practical, I don't do the glitch stuff. I didn't know about the cuboid rooms or ratios--usually just build til it works. And I hadn't thought of using the small panels to space the machines nicely. All of it brilliant and excellent format. Instant subscription. Looking for more how-to vids.

    you guys should try resizing all of those and you can make them fit in a room, and place 4 5 refiners in one single small timber panel, if you are curious how, go watch resize glitch , there are videos shows you how to do it, you can make all of them much smaller and you can fit them in walls. and always look for electro magnetic generators because you need solar panels and batteries, otherwise you only need one unit for power

    • @DreadCaptainJames
      @DreadCaptainJames  Год назад +4

      Yep, glitch building is definitely NOT what this build is about, and this is considerably faster than finding a EM source. This concept is to set up a quick mine, teleport, and move on. This is clean and speed. You could easily glitch all your refiners on one point, all your supply depot's on another together as well, and same for any other unit, but that's not what this is showing.

  • @thatdudekyle4509

    I always put down 2 solars and one battery for each extractor and I never run out of power. Don’t understand the 7:5 for each 3 extractor ratio. Too many solars and too many batteries

    • @DreadCaptainJames
      @DreadCaptainJames  Год назад

      It's the ratio the No Man's Sky Assistant provided based on the exact amount the base drained. The tool is credited by the devs, so I always went with it. Never once had any issues, and they're easy to make so if there happens to be a surplus of power, that's not bad. There's also the teleporter to consider, and the cuboids draw a slight amount over time...in other words, you do you, but this way has worked for me and provides a cushion with enough to guarantee the base runs and batteries charge.

  • @bingram5668
    @bingram5668 7 месяцев назад

    Only thing I’d change is using the alloy floors . They are already split into 4 sections so you decrease the amount of items used per mine build .

    Excellent video. I was able to build my first mine in about ten hours,! 😂 Now that I've collected the blueprints and experience, the next should take me under a half hour. ONE QUESTION PLEASE: My extractors don't run through the night. The batteries are being depleted, but the machines aren't running. I've double checked the wiring, I think it's fine. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

    • @DreadCaptainJames
      @DreadCaptainJames  2 месяца назад +1

      If you open up the solars, it'll tell you how much they're producing. Do it in the middle of the day when the sun is strongest. Then look to see if your batteries are holding about double that. If not, add more and double check wiring. You should see the output for the whole network when you look at one

    Great video!
    What resources would you recommend as must have mines for?
    How on earth do you get into build camera mode???
    Do the mines last forever?

    • @DreadCaptainJames
      @DreadCaptainJames  Год назад +2

      First, thank you! Resources recommended: oxygen, nitrogen, sodium, and uranium. Oxygen is a life saver and can be combined with many other things to multiply output in a refiner. Nitrogen and sodium can be used to recharge shields, etc. Uranium will make it so you never have to create launch fuel ever again. The build camera can be accessed by either a left stick click on the controller or by pressing B on the keyboard. And yes, the mines are good forever, so build away and enjoy the spoils!

      @@DreadCaptainJames can you hear the face palm and the groan from there HAHAHA, I think you'd have to use the prefab pieces like you did with the glass box's, I'm building this right now on a A class copper sight so I can have plenty of chromatic metal. but rather then a gate I'm just gonna put down a sight to sight teleporter cause it's right outside my colony sight.

      @Dread Captain James, I have the mineral extractors. I think that I might have figured it out. I didn't use the Survey Device to scan areas for potential minerals, I just went to the ones that were on top of the ground lol. For example, Pyrite. I saw the pile and set up shop. I will let you know if it works. We use to call it Operator Error at shop jobs 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

    • @DreadCaptainJames
      @DreadCaptainJames  2 дня назад

      Creative mode has been an option for a very long time, and an active difficulty slider has also been around for a while, but it's only for those who would want it. It's not a competitive game, so other people wouldn't have any affect on your game. Glitch building should also majorly bother you as it pulls pieces out of thin air regardless of the players inventory as well...just as an FYI. Playing to get your resources is a way to play the game as it's a survival game at its core, but it's also much more than just that and people who don't necessarily want that aspect don't have to play that way. Some might want the unending exploration or the hunt for lore over base building and resource collection or even combat (albeit limited), and for them, resources wouldn't need to be a thing. On another note, as a content creator, on my save I use only for recordings, it's nice to be able to quickly have what I need for a video rather than have to spend hours of prep time just to hit record...
