    I just got the AX6000. I had the AX4200 for one week but I took it back and exchanged it for the 6000 just because it was on sale. 🤣
    Before my new 320 router from AT&T I had some half dead zones in my garage and backyard. Not good with security cameras. Even with the new AT&T 320 router, those dead zones still existed. But with this Orbi system, I have no issues anymore! Garage or even in a far corner of my back yard. On point! I love it!
    Thanks for your video!

    Hi James, thank you for the great presentation. I had an RAX120 and died on me after 2+ years. I decided to go with the Orbit AX6000 with Router and 2 Satellites. My house is not that big, but i am planning to do this setup. The router in my basement, the satellite in the second floor and will connect wired. The Third will be in my attic and connect wirelessly. Any suggestions with this setup? Thanks.

    • @locoboof
      @locoboof  2 года назад +1

      Yeah, when you first go to set this up, do it all in the same room. Once you see everything is working and connected on all 3 devices, then move them to other rooms.
      Also, use their web-based setup if the app isn’t working for initial setup. Other than that, you’re going to absolutely love it.

    Looking into getting this. So my Verizon modem plugs into this Orbi, then I plug the Orbi to my TP Link switch? Will I get the same throughput if I plug my PC directly to the Orbi vs plugging my PC to my switch?

    • @locoboof
      @locoboof  3 года назад

      Correct. From your modem, to the Orbi router, then one port from the modem plug into your switch. Then, use another port on the back of the router to plug in your PC vs plugging it in off of your switch.
      If your Verizon modem has a router built into it also, then disable the WiFi portion of it. Use the WiFi off your new Orbi.

    HI THERE, YOUR VIDEO IS AWESOME, JUST A COUPLE QUESTIONS FOR YOU, I'M CHANGING MY LINKSYS EA9500 MAX STREAM ROUTER TO THE ORBI WIFI 6 ROUTER AND TWO SATELLITES, I KNOW I NEED TO CHANGE THE SSID NAME AND PASSWORD. TO THE SAME ONE IN USE RIGHT NOW AS NOT TO MAKE A BUNCH OF CHANGES TO ALL MY SMART HOME DEVICES, DOES THE ORBI APP ALLOW ME TO KEEP THE SAME SECURITY SETTINGS AS THE LINKSYS WPA/WPA2 IF SO CAN I CHANGE IT IN THE ORBI APP TO MATCH THE ORIGINAL ROUTER?
    THANKS SO MUCH...

    James, thank you for this video!! I have been searching for the right system, weather its a mesh system or a powerful gaming router. I wanted to know what your thoughts were comparing the Orbi to the Eero pro 6 and the Asus AX 11000. Those are the 3 options Ive been considering. Just wondered what your thoughts would be. I noticed that the 2 node system covers 5000 sqft. Is it the size of your home or another reason why you went with 4 vs 2 or 3? Im looking to pick up something this week so I'm looking forward to your response!! Thanks so much again for this video it was extremely helpful!!

      Hey Greg, I haven’t used the others, so I can’t speak to them. I’ve been using Orbi since 2017 and it’s been flawless. So, since I’ve had such great success I wanted to stick with them.
      My home is around 4000sft. But, in some locations I need ethernet ports. The only way I was able to obtain that reliably was with the extra satellites.
      Absolutely love it

    Hey James, when you configured your AT&T router, do you configure it as a passthrough, a bridge, or is the Orbi configured as an AP? I've watched few videos that show the Orbi and AT&T router and different methods are shown. I can' afford to be without the WiFI because my kids are still schooling from home. Any input is appreciated.

    • @locoboof
      @locoboof  3 года назад

      I’ll be honest, I didn’t get into all that fancy stuff like that. I just followed the Orbi app setup.
      Unplug modem
      Connect cat5 from modem to Orbi
      Plug in Orbi
      Follow setup instructions in the Orbi app
      From there Orbi will have you setup your new network name and WiFi password. You see, you can do all of this while your family is using the internet based off the ATT modem/router.
      Then, once Orbi is all setup, WiFi and all. Then I just disabled WiFi on the ATT router/modem. Then I plugged in everything to the Orbi and set all my devices to the new network and WiFi on the Orbi.
      I still get landline speeds in the 900’s and WiFi is in the 600’s

    How do you have the devices sorted by 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz?

    • @locoboof
      @locoboof  2 года назад

      That’s something that’s automatically done by the router. If the device can do both, it will default to the higher faster 5.0Hz. If the device an only do one, then it will do that one only. It will tell you what is connect to which within the app.
