    The Netgear Orbi 752 has improved its stability greatly over the last few months following updates. Prior it would drop the internet and reuqire a reboot every few days, if running as an AP behind a router it was solid. Either way I can definitely recommend the 752 be it as a modem/router/wifi or as an AP behind a nice little untangle/opnsense box.

    Can you tell where are the antennas located on 852 router & satellite?
    I have only one option to place to keep the router and that is one rear corner of the house.. Main floor.... Does it matter placing it facing front or at an angle.. Coz its at on corner.. What about satellite? Where on 2nd floor should I keep.. How far i can keep?
    Thanks

    Is the Ethernet cable that is provided in the box a CAT6 cable?

    How well do they worm with roaming. I have some access points which don't pass over a connection from one AP to a better one unless your existing connection is unusable. Also how friendly are they for device to device comms used in smart homes such as HomePod Mini's etc. Thanks.

    I am going to have a wired (CAT6) connection between the Router and Satellites. In this configuration, I would assume the third dedicated band is of no use. Please correct me if I am wrong.

    • @Visbalalam
      @Visbalalam Год назад

      That’s correct. The back haul 5ghz band can’t be used as a normal wifi.

    Hi do the satellites bounce off each other to extend the coverage or does each satellite need to still be in range of the main one? Cheers

    When you say the rbk352 supports 25-30 devices. Is that for each satellite or all together?

    Can I add a RBK353 satellite to my ax4200 or ax6000 mesh system? Are they compatible?

      Fyi, there is a compatability list on Netgear site. Probably it will slow down your system if I remember correctly.

  • @SupeDefy

    Future proofing means nothing when every year Netgear will come out with better/faster/safer/etc routers. Spending $1200 for a router thinking it will be good for 5 years is a pipe dream. In 5 years there will be advancements that haven't even been thought of. If you absolutely need quad band and 100+ device capability, sure, but 7 series for $400 is perfectly fine for most people.

    Stay away from Netgear if you have Comcast/Xfinity! Days wasted on the phone! three different Netgear WiFi gateways, including orbi, will not stay connected and EX7000 extender doesn't work with Comcast gateway.

    • @DeviceDeal
      @DeviceDeal  2 года назад +1

      Hi Del Schier, there should be no problem. Looks like you were not doing it properly.
      Here on Xfinity official forums they confirm that they work together but you have to use the bridge mode which is explained in detail in the 2nd link:

      I have xfinity (comcast) and I do have my netgear system for almost 6 months no problems whatsoever.. the trick is .. do not use their modem . Buy your own modem .. the stupid modem from xfinity is the real problem.
