im interested in buying either the 2020 330i or 2020 330e but i cant decide which one, i want performance and good sound, is there a difference in these 2 models? i would plan on at least getting a stage 1 tune and changing the exhaust, is one model better for modding than the other?
was it the im450 or im500 turbo you put on? stock turbo like spool is the im450 and the stock size elbow should fit, but as in the video you needed a larger elbow size, which is the im500, its a longer spool by a little low down but alot stronger top end
@@Aizman87 with stock fueling, so no additional additives, 350hp is about the limit and that is what we found during the logs. With just 98 and better injectors and intercooler about 50-75hp more should be achievable
We did! The thing with this platform, especially in Europe is that not a lot have tuned these before with stage 3 turbos, no one even wanted to help this customer, that is why this is part 1 and part 2 will follow. We have done a couple and know where to push and more importantly where not to push. We now set a baseline to build from. Our clientele prefers a daily drivable tune without E85 or meth, which means the car needs to be tuned accordingly. To do it correctly and safely, you need to make sure you keep some margins until the other updates (we’ve mentioned it in the video) arrives like the injectors and intake. You see that these cars heat soak quickly, but also run into fueling issues quickly at higher rpm (5000+), which means you need to detune the car above 5k rpm until the other mods arrive. Hope that clears it a little! 💪🏻
@@kjell9745 330e are very powerful down in the rev range, the 330i especially with a bigger turbo needs much more revs (3k+) but then it spins it wheels due to the limitation on this car's tires. Our 330e does 4.0-4.2s
My 330i is custom tuned on E85 with intake + straight pipe, to 350hp and it still can't break 5 second 0-60MPH times. (stock is 5.3 s) Odd enough, a LOT of 330i G20 drivers are in 4.6 s 0-60 MPH range, with no mods, just watered-down off-the-shelf tunes. The guy who sells the IPOS turbo shows his RWD F30 330i doing a 4.2s 0-60 run (although with rear seats gutted). This discrepancy between individual cars acceleration times, has never been explained across the tuning world. For my car, an analysis of acceleration numbers shows the weak point is off the line, 60ft times. My 60ft time is a whopping 2.3 seconds, whereas even stock is 1.9 s. But no matter what configuration I have on my car (tires, springs, launch technique ect), I cannot get faster 60ft times. Also the car seems to rev too high, and generally lacks power down in the 2k-2500RPM range. The strangest thing is that my first off-the-shelf tune with DME Tuning, and no other mods, and the car was an absolute monster - but it must have pulled timing because the fun only lasted a couple days. I've considered that perhaps mods (intakes/downpipes) may in some way hinder the performance of these cars (causing throttle closure, or timing pull, or reduced backpressure as some say), OR there is some deeper covert BMW, anti-tuning, strategy at work.
@@psrparts so how much would you charge for a full tune project like this. If i wanted to full tune my 45e X5 in your shop. ECU, Downpipe, Intercooler, Exhaust, Turbo, injectors. And making it all work together peacefully. Maybe 600+ hp and around what, 20.000€ ?

Nice build. Did you supplied all the parts? And also a nice steeringwheel, which brand is that?
We can supply all the parts in the video :) Steering wheel is a custom made wheel by one of the customer's contacts
Isnt that g21? Why it says g20?
Thanks for the feedback! G20 easier to find for the SEO, but adjusted now with both G20 G21 and made title shorter 👌🏻
