    This video includes some AI editing. I'm late to that game, BUT, it is useful and VERY effective!
    The PENTAX K-3 Mark III is a fantastic imaging device that brings life to what you capture. This is something that's not really talked about, so I thought I'd mention it!
    To participate in the Q & A, just email me at designs.kmc@gmail.com with the subject: Kobie Q&A. I'll try to answer as many questions as I can in an upcomming video!

    Started watching this video on my TV earlier, but finished it here. Like yourself, I did not want to use AI as I wanted to retain the mood as it was at the time of my taking the pictures. In November 2022 I went for a hiking trip along Wasaga Beach all the way into Craigleith Provincial Park. The weather was dreary, cold, windy and rainy. I took pictures that reflected the weather. Some people on Pentax forums suggested to brighten them up. One member actually showed one of my pictures improved in that manner, but then that picture did not reflect the weather I was hiking in.

    Totally with you on AI for photo editing, it can be very useful & give us the results we would normally have to sit around for hours editing to achieve. BUT it can also give us something that's unrealistic which for me then becomes something else & not photography. Good call on the owl shot btw, the extra small focus point worked a treat for that one!

    It really is amazing. The shadow recovery always blows my mind. I liked the non-AI versions of your photo better. AI always looks fake because, well, it is. Great shot of the owls and the hawk! Awesome that you waited for just the right moment for the hawk. That's photography. :) I agree about the sky replacement. May as well type a prompt into an AI image generator at that point lol. Just wait for the shot you want. It's worth it. It's worth for the satisfaction of having done it yourself, because it's real, and because the journey is half or more of the fun!

      Hello and thank you for the comment. Between the K-1 II and K-3 Mark III, it comes down to what you'll use the camera for. For landscape, the K-1 II, but if speed is what you're after (focus, Live View and fps) then by far the K-3 III is the better choice. If you don't have many D FA lenses, then the K-3 III would be your only choice since you're going from a K-3.

      From what I've seen, it's hit and miss. On some images it works wonders, on other images it doesn't work so well (creates jpeg artifacts etc). I'm planning on doing an AI denoising vid using Corel Paintshop Pro vs DxO Photolab 5 since I have both.

      I've just got a new laptop and Adobe suite which is transforming my old K3mki images and allowing me to up the iso without fear. I'm hearing from others it doesn't make any difference to the K3mkiii....

      I have Topaz Denoise and found it works pretty good as long as you use it before any other processing, expecially sharpening or other denoise programs. I use LR for most editing and the LR denoise does not work on the K3 III raw files. The LR denoise did work fine wirth my KP DNG raw files and worked the same as the Topaz Denoise. I usually ended up using LR with the KP because the Topaz file was changed into a TIFF file and about twice the size as the original DNG raw file.

    Hi Kobie. What causes the apparent pink hue discolouration around the branches to the left of the eagle at 05:30 please?

    • @KobieMC
      @KobieMC  10 месяцев назад +1

      Those are just clouds in the distance. Starting around this time of year and well into the winter, pink clouds are more common than the warmer seasons in Ontario Canada. There were also some branches closer to me as well, which had red bark.

      I do somewhat agree. But, if you can minimize the time editing by starting with a base that covers most of how you would have edited to begin with and now it's just a matter of a few tweaks, it's not that bad. However, if you have presets saved, it's almost the same thing. Most of it depends on how good the AI is as well. It can be overdone and it doesn't work well with all images.
