Your videos literally make understand more and more about bindings and snowboard… and I thank you, I always look forward to your videos.
Sounds perfect.
It's so rare to see giant megacorps letting their smaller brands roam free, and actually bringing in benefits from cross development...I'm actually stoked on Nidecker and it feels weird.
Love your videos, I'd love to see some nitro binding reviews if you have time too!
You didn't say please.
@@AngrySnowboarder pleeeeeease 🥺👉👈, there 😃👍😆
Nah too late now, will just delete reviews and never post them.
I will buy Rome binding for sure. Bataleon is much more expensive.
If they add the PivotMount system from the Rome bindings to these… that’ll be my dream bindings!
Or you could add it to them.
Yeah I have a set of cleaver I’d like those straps on mine
yeah these look exactly how a binding should be built, I bought a pair a few days ago . My only preference would be rubber rather than foam on the bottom board contact surface of the base. super excited to ride these this season.

Hello thank you for review.
would you recommend astro for bataleon surfer ?
First of all thank you for all the vids, they are very useful. I'm looking for new bindings for my K2 Simple pleasures, I was wondering which bindings will feel right for that board (specially for carving). I want them to disipate vibrations because the ines that I used to have where terrible. I was thinking of Rome katana or nitro team any suggestions?? Thank you! Keep it up!
Nitro Phantoms.
@@AngrySnowboarder Thanks a lot Avran!
heyy angry! stoked on these bataleon bindings! got black labels for bsod, think these or the atoms would be good pairing for mercury board? which of the two bindings are more damp?
thanks again@! and just when i thought i didnt need new gear this year....
Black labels would be better for the Mercury and Atoms for the BSOD. The footpad on the Atoms is more damp that’s for sure.
Deciding between these and the Ride C-8 you also recommend.
You describe the Astro as basic but is that bad? Whereas the C-8 seems less basic so does that equate to better?
On paper, the C-8 have options which seem cool but not sure if they matter (1) plastic/ aluminium base plate, (2) stiffer or softer heel strap
You’ll be fine with either.
Hey Angry! Thx in advance for the help and the amazing videos! I bought a 2024 yes standard, 162, 12 boots, i am usually a all mountain rider and love to pow when possible, after a long research i got on top of my list the astro, katana and salomon hologram.. what should be better for me ? Open to different choice if you think there is something better!
Grazie millle!!
I'd probably go Astro.
Hey Angry!!! Astro asymwrap vs Rome Katana vs Now select pro for mainly ice coast condition on a capita kazu, yes jackpot/greats.....which one do you suggest? Thanks and happy new year!!
Dealers choice.
Just bought a Korua Dart, would the Astros suit the stiffness of the dart(7/10)? Also using some Burton Ions so I hope the combo fits. Pretty interested in these bindings after this video. Thanks for the review!
They’ll work.
Was looking for a binding upgrade for a capita bsod 20/21 model.
What would the go to be in bataleon and rome?
Or would you pair something else?
Rome Cleaver, Bataleon Atom.
Ok you convinced me. Should i get the full wrap or asym? I have a 2023 endeavor pioneer in a 155W, not the X. I'm 160lbs. Weekend warrior, ill do every jump, skip every rail, i go fast, carve hard and mess around with ground tricks. Never has a asym binding whatchu think?
Asym.
Avran, If you had to either choose the Bataleon Astros Full wrap or the Union Ultras, Which one do you grab on a all condition type of day of say a lil pow, groomers, chunder etc??
Astro.
Does the extra foam help create a softer landing jibs/jumps or is that unnoticeable?
To an extent it helps a little.
So I work at a Rental shop in Summit County. A guy came in and handed me these brand new and said these are yours now. He had rode them once. I was going to put these on a 152 DOA just curious if it will be a good fit? I currently have Union STR.
Fuck yeah it will! That’s a come up!
If I loved the foam ankle strap from Rome and found the ‘pro-flex’ strap a bit harsh, will I like the Bataleon ankle strap? My long suffering Katanas need replaced and I’m tempted to try these.
It's a little thicker so it doesn't cut in as aggressively as the Pro Flex did. I think you might still have some issues.
@@AngrySnowboarder Thanks. I'll grab some kind of Bataleon/Rome bindings and put my old straps on them then :)
Are the Lobster Halldor Pro 24 bindings essentially rebranded Astro FW? Their website isn’t very descriptive, but the flex and straps look like the Astro.
Pretty much
I have Jones Flagship (flex 8/10) and Nidecker Index boots (10/10). I'd like to buy B. Astro Full Wrap for them. Will such stiff boots be ok for this combination?
Sure.
What model are those orange ones on your desk? I can't find them online anywhere...
I know where 😎
How do you reckon these would partner up on the Bataleon Goliath Plus for a fairly competent all mountain rider?
Fine
Hey avran!
Is this or the now more damp?
Thanks mang!
Got to be more specific bud.
I like to do some hard carving combined with some buttering and flat ground tricks. I bought me the Bataleon Blaster Fullwrap which has flex 7 but I'm missing a bit of edgehold compared to my older bindings. Would you recommend the Astro Asymwrap or Fullwrap? Thx and cheers.
Edge hold is board related not binding.
@@AngrySnowboarder Ok, thx for your reply. I'm only into snowboarding for a small year so trying to figure things out. Gonna try some setups on my bindings first then. Felt I I had way more response edge wise on my Jones Meteorite bindings.
@@AngrySnowboarder My English also is not so great as I'm from Belgium but it feels it's more difficult with these new bindings to get my Edge locked in compared to my Jones Meteorite bindings. Could this be solved by only changing the angle of my heel cap? Maybe will try that next week when I go back.
That's the skate tech you felt. Completely different response from the binding than a standard flat base.
@@AngrySnowboarder Didn't know that, thx for the info. 🤙
Would you recommend these or the blasters for an evil twin
Nvm I got this
Would you recommend paring this with a 164 Korua Dart Plus for the steep and deeps, or would you recommend something else? Thanks.
It'll work but I'd probably go up to the Atom from Bataleon instead or maybe a Rome Cleaver, Ride A-9, Jones Apollo. Something with a little more girth to it.
@@AngrySnowboarder, sweet, thought that might be the case. Was contemplating the Atom and Cleaver. I'll take another look at the A-9 and Apollo as well.
i’ve got some questions about the bataleon chaser bindings i was looking at this bindings and i think it’s the one for me but i don’t have any information about it i was just wondering if the bindings would work for what kind of riding i’m trying to do i’m going to be more freestyle all mountain and jumps if you could help me out i’d really appreciate it
Most people would ask their question instead of writing out a giant run on sentence asking if they can ask a question.
@@AngrySnowboarder😂😂
Hey Angry! Would You rather have astro full wrap on K2 Passport or Rome Katana ? Mainly for groomers/ side hits/ little pow
Astros, better dampening and better strap.
@@AngrySnowboarder angry one more question, did you happen to ride flux XF and could you compare them to Astro/ katana ?
Now if you can throw those aux heel onto Rome it'd be perfect
Oh you can.
@@AngrySnowboarder o shit, that's dope, they don't have it on their site as spare parts yet, this over the rome foam heel straps?
@@bukchoiii I'm going to continue rolling the foam heel strap just for consistency sake I think, plus after 4 years they're nice and broken in the way I want.
Hello Angry,
Do you think these binding are good for a capita Mercury or the katana are a better choice ?
Thx
Both!
@@AngrySnowboarder thanks 👍💪
Must be made in the rome factory.
Is this good for a beginner intermediate? I could get a used pair for cheap. Is there really such a difference between this and their 'beginner' bindings?
No. Yes.
These are actually 21/22 model. 22/23 at least have different ankle ladders. Dont know what else could be different
Samples.
@@AngrySnowboarder gotcha!
Are these responsive enough for a board like a jones flagship in 169W?
Oh yeah!
Since these are using the Rome chassis, are they also able to be set up in a 4x4 spacing as well?
You mean 4 x 2?
@@AngrySnowboarder My understanding is Rome bindings can be set up either 4x4 or 4x2
@@Phos9 4 x 2 is going to fit better than a 4 x 4 with that mini disk they use. You're really pushing it to go to a 4 x 4.
Hey 👋🏼 I got myself the 2024 Goliath with the Astro full wrap bindings… some people say the bindings are too stiff for the board so it can feel twitchy.. did I make a mistake with this buy??
Some people say stupid shit they know nothing about. You’re fine.
@@AngrySnowboarderthank you very much sir 🤝🏻
@@AngrySnowboarder one last question: would you say for my setup the flex of the ride lasso is fitting ? (Matches my foot pretty good) or should I maybe consider upgrading to to a lasso pro because the binding is so stiff (?)
To be clear I don’t own any boot yet.
(I’m 194cm tall and 98kg heavy)
What’s the functional difference between a full wrap and an asymmetric binding?
Lateral power. Full wrap has less give on the outside so you can more drive into a turn as well as power when you load the camber up. Asym wrap has more give so your presses rely more on the outside of your boot and balance as well as decreasing how much drive you put into a board.
@@AngrySnowboarder have you ridden the astro in both asym/full? do you have a preference? seems like u ride black labels a lot and those have the asymwrap.
thinking about getting a pair to mount on an all-mountain freestyle board. do you think the lateral play of the asym will do better for pow? im thinkin might be easier to get weight all the way back if its deep or weaving tight trees or getting my weight on the nose for little 180 pow butters.
been using malavitas and they might be a little too soft for some of the bigger mountain riding. like they obviously work but im trying to find something stiffer/ more precise.
@@kelvsh I'm an Asym guy. For what you're describing Asym should be fine.
@@AngrySnowboarder thank you good sir
for size 10.5 would you go M/L or L/XL in these? (k2 maysis boots)
I'd probably do the L/XL.
@@AngrySnowboarder thx for the recommendation. I went with the bataleon blaster fullwraps in L/XL and its perfect. 10.5 boots always falls in the ambiguous size zone. I must say this is the first binding where I've been able to dial things in perfectly (centered boot, centered foot pad, nice spacing in heel cup, etc.) - I was lucky enough to also try the M/L on my 10.5 boots (I bought a pair for my adult sized child). For those 10.5 footers, the Heel cups are same, the L/XL has a longer footbed, a little more room in the toe area due to the chassis flange, and obviously the straps are longer (the M/L were short enough it would be annoying). I am fitting to a rome gangplank 154w. 💀I would only go with a mid-wide or wide board with L/XL otherwise you'd risk footbed overhang
Also, I'm guessing since these are based on romes chassis, that romes fit are pretty sweet too. If I need something stiffer than the blasters, I'm definitely going to get the astro's or perhaps the equivalent rome (katana?)
What are your thoughts on the asym wrap version?
More lateral play.
@@AngrySnowboarder too playful for all mountain?
@@gobeats333 Nope, just makes pressing and buttering a little easier, but you'll lose some power when you drive the board.
@@AngrySnowboarder sick, thank you. Love your channel
Looking to possibly buy these. I ride a 2024 shadowban and mainly like to carve alot at speed, small jumps, some buttering, no boxes or rails(will not be doing them at all). i also prioritize fast turning at slower speeds.
my current bindings are 2024 stratas i love them but i wish the ankle strap sat up a little higher for more toeside response. would the astro fullwrap be good for me? also looking into the katana, atlas, and 2025 falcor.
Thank you and keep it up love your videos #clewsux
Definitely a top contender you also have the option of flipping the kinked ladders to raise or lower the heel strap to your liking.
Thanks man
I can combine this binding with Whatever X?
Sure.
@@AngrySnowboarder this bindings has flex 8 but the Whatever X flex 6, I have dubt...mmm...help me please
Stop looking at numbers that don't mean shit.
Whooppp
doesn't sound like its worth upgrading my ancient flow bindings
Probably not worth going riding either, should just stay home, maybe order a pizza, rent a couple movies on Prime, and just slowly give up on life.
