    The Bataleon 3bt base made me a better, harder charging snowboarder!

    Spot on! If you're a beginner to intermediate, or not on the ice coast, or over 35, or even an advanced rider looking for a chill loose and easy ride with great pow float despite board shape, 3BT is worth trying for sure! The Whatever is probably the most versatile model for most 3BT virgins. What 3BT shape do you recommend to the hard core chargers? Goliath? I know that the XL kicker crowd seems happy with the Lobster Sender (YES Fridge for 2025)...

      @Drift-Products  8 месяцев назад +1

      The sender is pretty aggressive for sure. I love the Goliath and the Thunderstorm, especially if you want to retain some freestyle feel. They can go hard. The cruiser plus and party wave plus can charge pretty well too.

      @@Drift-Products saw your reviews (along with a bunch others) and thanks for the words! very down to the point review and the "bullet points" are som damn useful. This comment made my day now, as I recently had the opportunity and purchased a whatever and a goliath for next season. one for fun easy messing around and the other when things get more serious. i was concerned I bought two boards that are waay to similar, but it sounds like I'll definitely feel the difference between the both. (I am over 35 though... but not a 3bt virgin, coming from an old Evil twin)

    I have a fun kink that's another great all mountain, all levels board as well. I still like a traditional board but I'll always have a 3BT board for playing around, it's like cheating.

      Yep. I agree. I had a Funk Kink. Solid mess around board for sure.

    So as an east coast, low intermediate snowboarder, this is a no go? What else would you recommend? Thank you

      It's fine, it's just not great in icy conditions. A better east coast alternative would be the jones mountain twin.

      It’s a good idea. Some people don’t seem to get along with it. I’ve never had a problem riding it, but it does have limits and it does feel unique.

    It’s my first season and my first board is a 2019 kazu pro. Definitely too much board for me as I won’t be riding it to its potential anytime soon. Would you say the Whatever would be a better board for me? I can carve the kazu no problem

    Oh man why did it take so long to find your reviews. Amazing work! Just subscribed.
    I am an advanced rider with 20+ years riding of experience. Focus: all mtn, powder when there is some, carving on groomers (I am a life long surfer), side hits. Will hit the park every now and then for a medium sized jump or jib.
    I am renewing my equipment for a BC trip now end of February. Already bought a 2023 Hovercraft 160 + Jones Orion Bindings and 32 Christenson Bandito boots. That setup for all mtn, powder and carving.
    Will buy another board for relaxing, cruising, hitting parks and for when its slushy and playful. Thinking about the Whatever 56W, Jones Mtn Twin 59W or the Korua Otto 161. I am 6ft tall, 175lbs, boots US 11.
    Would you give me your insight on which of these to choose, if sizing is right and if bindings and boots will go good with it?
    I will be riding Revelstoke, Sun Peaks, Big White and Whistler. Hoping it snows when I am there (feb 21 - march 3).
    Cheers.

      Hey man, thanks for your support! Sounds like our approach is very similar. The hovercraft will awesome and I think those bindings and boots will do just fine. As for the chill board, I haven’t tried the Otto. Would love to. The Whatever is a solid option. The Mountain Twin was completely forgettable to me but I can’t say there’s anything wrong with it. It just didn’t dazzle me. Others I really liked are the Amplid Singular Twin, Yes Greats, the Never Summer Protoslinger, and Rome Artifact Pro. Let me know what you choose!

    I demoed one but could not get over the floatiness (on groomers) of the 3BT shape. You start leaning it over and it's like "where's the edge???". I'm not talking the steep / high-speed stuff you mentioned, but just initiating a turn.

      I know some people feel super uncomfortable on them. I don't. They are different but I don't have a problem riding them. I love it in soft snow, but in firm snow it's just not that great. :)

    • @Drift-Products
      @Drift-Products  8 месяцев назад +1

      For directional boards, the Cruiser plus and Party Wave plus, for more twinish boards the Thunderstorm, Goliath, and Goliath plus. Basically anything stiffer, with higher camber, and/or less uplift in the 3BT.

    I live in New Jersey and was interested in this board. But my biggest concern is the ice we have here I am wondering how it would perform here or should I go with something more traditionally shaped

    • @Drift-Products
      @Drift-Products  6 месяцев назад +1

      It’s not horrible, but I don’t recommend it for the East Coast. Check out the yes standard, a similar board that edges much better.

      The Yes Typo is amazing on ice/hard pack. I was on a burton process before and couldn't hold an edge for the life of me on steeps and found a Yes Typo on sale and it changed my life. Go check the reviews, it's something experts rave about with this board. Got a 155 and I am 5'7ish. Second on the Yes Standard as well. I also have ridden a Yes Basic, a bit too noodly/soft for going fast through crappy snow, but still has good edge hold. Idk something about Yes technology.
