Matugani Review, Lost Island Themepark Intamin Accelerator Coaster | Liseberg's Kanonen Relocated

- Matugani is the signature roller coaster at Lost Island Theme Park. This is an Intamin hydraulic launch coaster that previously operated at Liseberg as Kanonen. This is a small accelerator coaster, but it has a punchy layout and good elements.

New Canobie Liseberg pronunciation just dropped!
😂
Everyone told me I had been misinformed lol
RIP “Liseberry”
@@GoudLoodjeLol
Lol, I rewinded as soon as I heard it to confirm. Liseberry will be missed.
I'm glad that the ride found a home at Lost Island. I feel like it fits in so much better at that park than it ever did at Liseberg. This and Volkanu alone make Lost Island worth visiting.
I agree it's a better fit here.
I love how every Intamin retro track design is there. The box shape, the triangle and the spineless track all in one ride.
I don't know why, but I seriously love this.
Mix of types for different forces.
This ride far exceeded my expectations. I was even considering it for my favorite coaster in Iowa. I got 11 laps in my 3+ hours there last year. My first was a solo ride in the front row, and I actually think the train got down to 1 mph before completing the loop. It was so close to a rollback, giving outstanding hangtime. As much as I loved the park, it does have the only Vekoma SLC that I genuinely dislike. I'll take the wacky worm over it.
I liked Nopuko in the back, but it was awful in front.
I remember this ride fondly when it was at lisberg. I am really glad it's up and running again
I'm glad it found a new home.
When you showed the side by side logos I actually gasped hah
It's comical.
Was here yesterday, I enjoyed this ride quite a bit. I was a little worried about smoothness due to it be relocated but was happy to find it was very smooth IMO
It's very smooth.
Wait I’m surprised kings island hasn’t sued them for that logo! Well I really want to go here to support the park and because it looks really cool! I just wish I wasn’t so far away
Lake Compounce also rips off a Kings Island logo (Wildcat has an alternate logo that uses the Beast design).
I hate unshade queues. I used to work at a park and we had people pass out in our line at least once a week. Also 56 inches is wild considering the other coasters with the same restraints have 52 inch requirements.
I'm surprised the height restriction is that high.
This is a fair review for the ride experience-I agree with everything you said! Especially the need for shade in the queue area! They need to add it for all outdoor ride queues in this park!
That is much needed on the hot summer days if they keep getting crowds
I rode this when it was in Sweden. Fun little ride. I always wondered why they did not make the top hat hill taller.
Probably would need a faster launch.
I love this little coaster! Honestly would not hate this getting the Thunder Volt treatment at some point with new Lightning trains and an LSM launch.
It may help fix the recent downtime.
Alsmost didnt get to ride it today but it opened at the last second and I got 6 rides. Great little coaster, it packs a punch for such a small ride
Glad it opened for you. It has had trouble as of late.
If by "suspiciously looks like", you mean looks exactly like the diamondback logo than yes lol 😂
Different colors at least lol
Their new coaster for next year should help provide a good secondary coaster for days that Matugani has extended downtime.
I agree. Another major coaster would really help.
It's nice to see Lost Island rescue this ride from scrap. I wonder what coaster they'll save next.🤔
I suspect their next one will be new.
Are you gonna review Nopuko Air Coaster? I would love to see that.
Yes
@@CanobieCoaster did your gopro survive the jolt right after the first loop haha. The rest of it is fine but that one jolt might be the worst i've ever felt on a coaster.
The jolt on the POV looks brutal. They need to reprofile the entrance to that.
@CanobieCoaster I just watched your POV. It was the first time I ever watched a POV for the sound alone haha. Your comment at the end was great. Oh it delivered alright haha!
Do you know what made the day you visited the park so busy? (PS - I’m not saying this is a bad thing, the park definitely needs more attendance, I’m just curious.)
I don't know, but it was good for the park. It was a hot sunny Sunday.
FYI for everyone that gives Mack shit, this is a slower launch than Icon, it's just reversed. Icon gently rolls at first and pulls hard at the end, vs the hydraulic punch followed by tail off. Icon does 0-50mph in 2 seconds (vs 47 in 2 here)
I would take this launch over Icon's.
Compared to Rita / Desert Race launch:
How would you rate this launch? I wasn't able to ride Kanonen in time, bevor it got relocated, so im very curious :D
It's not as punchy as those 2.
Did you hear that next year, they are most likely going to add either a rmc raptor or wild moose
I heard. Excited for a new coaster.
I hope it will be a raptor 🤞
I hope this is a potential candidate for a Zamperla rennovation like ThunderVolt
It could be.
So when it comes to the reliability of this hydraulic launch, is it safe to say that because it's not trying to go extremely fast that it will cause less issues than the other ones?
That seems to help with the other small ones.
How was the hangtime on the vertical loop
Pretty good.
A 56 inch height requirement is crazy. This ride could probably have a 48-52 inch height requirement considering it's intensity level looks similar to Cheetah Hunt.
I was stunned it was that high given the restraints.
The side looks good, but man i cant get over how IDENTICAL its logo is compared to Diamodnback. Damn near identical, outside of the eyes. A rare bad thematical choice from Lost Island
It's oddly similar. They knew what they were doing.
2:32 guess I wasnt the only one who noticed
Coaster enthusiasts know.
If operations are glacial with these crowd levels, it will only put people off from visiting in what they would presume to be busy months.
The line peaked at a half hour for me, but hopefully they can speed up if they start getting more crowds.
please review nopuko and do a top rides at
I will.
Seems like a great coaster!
It is.
This or Valkeria?
I think Valkyria, but it is close.
Mama pezaki front row pov please ASAP
What?
Lost island NEEDS to plant bamboo. It grows fast and can get 20 ft tall. It can also grow very dence. It would fit the theme perrfectly and it would reduce visibility making it feel less like a field.
Bamboo cant survive iowa winters
@@Joelthetimelord I have a sht load of it on the side of my house. IT most certainly does survive winters. Mine are about 15 ft tall 100 ft wide and are so dence ypu can't see through them. A stalk will go from a few inches to 15 ft in a few days. It grows insanely quick
Any greenery will help. It will just take time to grow.
What happened to your pronunciation of Liseberg.
Everyone told me it was wrong haha.
@@CanobieCoasterfrom an Americans perspective thet were right
I always enjoyed the lisa berry pronunciation. I've heard it's just meant to be a silent g so it's lisa berr
The logo is funny...who has seen wild thing logo at valleyfair and cedar point rogarou while not as similar both have claw marks and eyes...lol
It's comical how close it is.
They ripped off the Diamondback logo and changed it
I'm surprised they did that.
I remember kanonen❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹
I'm glad it lived on at Lost Island.
