- Spontaneous adventures often make for some of the best adventures, and this is proof of that! On a whim I decided to take my Honda SCL500 to Wye Island on the eastern shore of Maryland and it was SO much more fun than I could’ve imagined!
As it turns out, nearly the entire island was unpaved gravel roads! It was so sick finally getting to “scramble” on my scrambler. Annddd of course I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t get myself into a sketchy situation or two…
Where should we go on the CL500 next?! I’m looking forward to more scramblin’ on the scrambler! 😎🤘🏻

When Boy Scouts are promoted to the life long title Eagle Scout, they do a project that gives back to their local community. Often people clean places or build or repair structures that can be used all.
It's too bad Eagle Scout doesn't carry the weight it used to a long time ago.
I wasn't a scout, but I think it used to be an outstanding organization.
The decline of Boy Scouts is reflective of the increasingly rapid decline of our American society over the last 40 years or so.

The golf course, I believe, is called Hunters Oak. Back in the day it was a really nice course. It fell into financial issues and other problems. It's changed hands multiple times and currently, from what I last heard, someone is trying to bring it back to its former glory. 1 of the 3 courses is was open last time I was there, but that was a while ago.

As a former resident of Ocean City, MD, I can tell you that the Eastern Shore is one of the best areas to drive around and just discover things. There's so many areas that are off the beaten trail to see.

The eagle sign is referring to boy scouts who have to do a big project to be granted the almighty Eagle Scout promotion. Not a Boy Scout but I had a few buddies in high school who had to do Eagle Scout projects. Lol
I just got this same bike a few weeks ago, As I'm barely learning to ride, i can already tell that it handles rain way better than my previous owned 2017 Nissan Versa..
Really thinking about getting one as a first bike. I am 5'7". I may go Monday and sit on one to see how it fits.

Part of becoming an Eagle Scout is doing a community benefitting project. Those bathrooms were somebody's project.
Eagle project is something that every boyscout does to graduate.

Love how well this bad boy scrambles! It's on my short list for a second bike, I'd really love to get a scrambler as a backup bike alongside my cruiser. I'm going to wait to make a decision until those new Triumph Scrambler 400s come to the states, those bikes look like a lot of fun too and I'm a bit of a Triumph fanboy lol

How do those mirrors fair on the scl? I put very similar ones on my grom but they rattle too much to be real reliable

Are you using the Quad Lock with the Fork Stem Mount or the Handle Bar Mount?
I would keep that rear fender. It doesn’t look so bad. I put a tail tidy on my ninja Z 400 and regret it when I go through puddles of water😂
You should trt customizing the bike into a tracker style of bike, trackers look like cafe racers but with off road tyres and tracking handlebars

Any plans for upgrading the tires on the scrambler's tires to something a little more aggressive?
I wasn’t originally planning on changing them, but after this trip and seeing how much fun it is on gravel and dirt, I have been looking at getting some more aggressive tires! Probably not full blown knobby tires, but definitely something more aggressive like the Shinko 705’s. We’ll see!

Yup, correct lol. I became an eagle scout, my project was helping an old lady fix up her old house. So obviously I didn't put a plaque on her house or anything marking what I'd done 😂 but the final project is just anything that displays your personal skills and leadership skills to assist your community in some way
I bet you've already said this in a video but how would you compare the scrambler to the rebel 1100? And which would you recommend to someone with the 300?

Comparing the SCL500 to the Rebel 1100 really is an apples to oranges comparison. The only thing they have in common is the Honda name. Aside from that they’re totally different bikes built for totally different purposes, so it’s nearly impossible to compare them. And as far as a recommendation, before deciding, you really just have to ask yourself which riding style you prefer, how much power you need/are comfortable with, how much tech you want, what your budget is, etc. There’s not really a one-size-fits-all answer there, especially when the bikes are so different. Hope that helps!
@@LifeOfBurch yeah thats a big help, about what i expected. I got to sit on an SCL and loved it, and coming from a dual sport 250 just trying to decide that sweet spot, one bike that can do both moderately well, or keep the Crf and add a Rebel

I have a Bell Race Star DLX and absolutely love it! It has a Transitions face shield, so it automatically darkens based on the sun. I never have to worry about carrying an extra face shield if I’m going to be riding all day 🤘🏻

Sorry Burch, but I really wish you had a plan or goal in mind before starting to shoot a video. Really any sort of content beyond "I went to some place" really. Love your channel and your style, but the recent "I saw some seagulls / a girl on a bike / gravel" videos aren't doing it for me.
