I absolutely love this bike I have almost six hundred kilometers on mine. Personally I do not like riding on the highway, But carving through the back roads and commuting to work this is just been awesome.
I just bought the same bike 2023 orange for 5,999.00 no dealer fees and the dealership paid the taxes. I did pay registration. So, I pick up the bike Tuesday the 19th. 2024 and will truck it home. One mile on the odometer. I just didn't feel like riding the bike five hundred miles home. Where I live there are hundreds of less explored roads and off roads waiting. Appreciate your videos.

Thank you for the this video, and the others you have done on the SCL500. I just picked mine up about 4 days ago and after about 150 miles I've already noticed the chain needs adjustment. Your video guide on adjusting the chain was great and much appreciated. I've owned a lot of bikes, but I think the SCL500 is one of the best, especially if you are looking for easy to ride, easy to live with, and FUN. Thanks again, and keep the vids coming! 👍
My green is on about 4700 miles in 7 months and totally agree with how this is a keeper. The Final Destination reference made me giggle. We don't seem to get too many trucks carrying logs here in the UK but I too would hang back from such a fear inducing lorry!

I'm going to enter the biking world eventually. One of the draws is ease of self maintenance. Cars have become too complicated. Motorcycles offer me the chance for self-service. I miss that aspect. especially. Especially since this model is easy and a favorite of mine.
This bike will be a nice addition to my Honda CRF 300 L Rally. More comfortable to ride it on highways. Would love to see all equipped for adventure riding. Nice honest review, thank you.
The CRF300L Rally is a great little bike!!! We definitely will be doing something with that bike on this channel. Having said that, I think the SCL500 gives up much of the off road capabilities that the CRF has, but definitely adds a large amount of "paved road" comfort and capabilities while still allowing you to venture off the beaten path! Thanks for doing this helpful vid! I've been thinking about selling my bike (Honda NC750XD), and the more vids I watch about this Scrambler, the more I like it & would love to get one. I'm a senior rider, and I want something more nimble, more lightweight, and an upright seating position. My question is about the wind...I'm a wuss when it comes to being blown around by wind...I admit it. What's that like for someone like me who's not wanting the buffeting. Would hate to get a windscreen but might have to. Looking forward to your longer trips on this!!!
Personally, I love the feeling of the wind that you get from dual sport or "naked bikes". Makes me feel alive like when that cold northeast air comes in winter time and prickles the face. Having said that, I've seen some fairly good options for low profile wide screens. I'm sure you could find something that would work well for you if you had to. Thank you very much for stopping by! How's the seat for longer stints in the saddle. I just sold a bike a loved but after three seats I gave up. I had a Triumph Scrambler that was very comfortable because of the bench seat.

Hi backlinebeat, I think if you are use to riding "cruiser type" bikes, then the foot pegs will feel too far back. I'm use to riding "dual sport type" and sometimes sport bikes bikes and the foot pegs seem ok for me, but you may have a point... Maybe sometimes (in certain situations) if I have to move close up on the tank for better stability, the foot pegs could feel a bit too far back. Hi FalconMe, Congratulations on your first bike!!! There was a time when an owners manual was large and had any info you would ever need. These days a typical manual is very basic, full of legal disclaimers and very basic operating info. You will need to eventually buy a honda "service manual" for service related data. I am currently looking online for the specific service manual, but have not purchased one yet. I will soon, I just wanted to make sure it is updated with specific CL500/SCL500 data. For now I am using torque specs for the rebel 500. I think most of the relevant data is the same, but please note that I can't personally advise this for liability reasons. I wish I could be more help, but I promise to share info as I get it. Thank you very much for stopping by, and I hope I can be of service to you in the future!
I haven't tested to know the exact amount, but my current observation puts it at just around 200 +/- miles per tank. Depending on how aggressive your riding, weight of load, etc... Hope this helps, and thank you for stopping by!
Almost bought this bike then found a 2020 Triumph Bonneville T120 with 4k miles in perfect condition for $8,000. Man had a loan on his bike from bank and could no longer afford it after buying a new BMW touring bike. In Alabama, they want $8500 out the door for the SCL500 and they only have it in orange.

I'm 5'10"... I agree with KaptinPlanit's reply. The higher seat option would work well in your case. The riding position (to me" feels like the old 70's Honda CB models, which I love. Its just a tiny bit lean forward if you are sitting back on the full width of the seat, but full upright if you are in a forward position close to the tank for more of a "off road" type position. I NEED HELP! I have ridden dual sport 2 stroke bikes for for 15 years and need help breaking out of the category! I started with a ke100, then ke175 now I own a couple dt175s one built and quite stout and I plan on keeping them. I live in a rural area and want a mid sized bike for longer travel and a bit more comfort without sacrificing the zesty spice from an engine. I was thinking zx4rr but the roads including main roads are rather tough in my area, I was thinking adv like a Himalayan but I’m concerned it won’t corner well on better maintained paved roads and isn’t powerful enough. The triumph speed 400 looks a tad small and I’m considered about reliability and power. This bike intrigues me but I don’t know if it will be zesty enough, your review showed that it will be just fine for normal everyday riding and the suspension seems adequate for my riding area as well as the legendary reliability that comes with a honda. This middle category is vast and has me lost, any input would be much appreciated!

Checked the chain on my 500 and good lord ima need some tools cause after 400 miles it's about 3in of movement 😮.
