  • This survival kit is from Kizlyar Supreme, a Russian knife company. We've reviewed several of their knives so I thought it would be interesting to look at one of their survival kits. So, let's see what is in this one and whether or not it is worth the price or even any good at all.

    I like the tin container and the pouch but certainly not worth 75 bucks. The Altoids tins kits that many of us have put together for far less are superior to this Kizlyar. For example, I have a Hidden Woodsman possibles pouch containing three Altoids tins, one for a fire kit, one for a first aid kit, and one that covers other items of the 10 c's of survival. I maintain an inventory in a "gear journal" and total cost for everything is just under 50 bucks, including Malcolm's $26 possibles pouch. Many of the products needed most of us have in our home. However, like you said it's nice to see what others put in their survival kits. Great review, Bryan!

    That's a 20$ kit and the company still makes profit... Love their knifes but if you wanna buy them from outside of Russia they want you to pay 4-5x as much as normal 😒 the Survivalist X Full Tang for example is 50€ in Russia and 200€ in Germany 🙄 no thanks...

    Bryan, maybe you could make a list of things to buy? That would be helpful! Thanks

    The wire saw I got from Wal-Mart cuts alot better and alot faster then that and I have been using it for 4 years now and hasn't broke yet. It's made in China. The only issue with mine is that it likes to bind up and the memory tension sucks. Other then that, it works ok. Haha. I like your video, sir. Keep up the good work.

      @lesliemiller5790 3 года назад

      I don't think every thing together is worth over 15 dollars including the pouch, which IMHO is the only thing of any real value of that kit. I could by everything in the kit for less than 10 dollars (provided that I went according to the actual cost of what is in the tin). I have seen tins that are twice the size of an Altoids box for 3 dollars, can but a box of 50 bandages for 5 dollars, buy a box of 100 alcohol wipes for 10 dollars, and so on. Take 2 bandages, worth maybe 25 cents, 2 alcohol wipes, worth maybe 50 cents, the wire saw for 3 dollars (I would buy a hacksaw blade an cut it to fit in the box). The pouch would be the most expensive thing in the kit, and I would be abje to make one using some canvas or maybe leather for about 5 dollars worth of material and an hour of my time, so no, this is NOT worth 75 dollars, much closer to 7.50 dollars. Let, me ask you, did you feel anything hit you in the back of the head when you were robbed, like maybe you change you should have gotten from 75 dollars?

    I guess anyone who is remotely interested in survival makes their own lit. These pre-made ones are just to sell cheap crap to people who don't know better. I think I only saw about $5 worth of stuff in there. That metal knife u liked so much I got 3 for $1...

    Gimmicky crap, compass doesn't work, even if it did how accurate is it really? Small pre built survival kits always have things in common and that is a bunch of few dollar items some company throws together and slaps a big price tag on it. The best survival kits out there are the ones you build your own. The best use for that kizlyar kit is the tin to make charred material and store it in a survival kit you made.

    • @SurvivalOnPurpose
      @SurvivalOnPurpose  3 года назад

      I have to agree about this kit. But I don't agree about the "always" part. I know of at least a few companies that make small survival kits with excellent quality, well-chosen contents.

    • @alexstrouse6333
      @alexstrouse6333 3 года назад

      @@SurvivalOnPurpose Yeah, but, how long are these micro kits are going to last you the little ferro rods they give you wont last you very long, if you strike a ferro rod more then 2-3 times you’re doing something wrong to start a fire. Think about cordage, those little survival kits, everything in them are small, spend good money on kits that will last you for years and the small kits like Kizylar wont last you that long. Plus you shouldn’t have medical type items like gauze pads or sterile blades in your survival kit, it should be in your medical kit.
