Largest collection of junk in a small package I have ever seen. Worth every bit of $0.25 (one quarter). Thank you for sharing. One never knows how useless these cheap money makers are until you see them spread out.
I completetely disagree that this is useless. Obviously, there is only so much functionality you can fit into a kit that fits comfortably in a pocket. The challenge, as I said, is to at least be able to carry some gear that is useful to AID in survival. When I evaluate these small kits, I look for the quality of the components and what tasks are covered. I think David did a good job of sourcing good quality components and i like the stuff he included. I especially like the emphasis on fire, since it is so important. The water bag is excellent. In my opinion, a pocket survival kit is intended to give you an edge over having nothing with you and augment the skills you have PRACTICED. To expect it to include everything you need to survive in style is unrealistic, but to call them useless seems short sighted and unnecessarily negative.
Survival On Purpose I typed out a lengthy response defending my position and developing real life challenges for this kit. But, realized you strongly believe this collection of useless junk has some real value while I strongly believe it is a collection of useless junk. And, we are not going to change our opinions. If “better than nothing” is the benchmark to measure this kit by I still think it is a collection of junk. The fact that it is high quality useless junk is not all that important.
I like the Tiny guide and card. It seems to me that for a few dollars more you can do better than the Pocket 45. I am glad thought, that David made this product available.
I have something similar to this but the parts are larger. This kit just looks too small to be really useful. I get the idea that you want it to fit in a pocket but I think a larger kit spread out through several pockets would be a lot more useful, imho. If you are stressed in a survival situation tiny things are a lot more frustrating to try to get working.
But, again, the whole premise of these type kits is to have something that you are more likely to actually carry with you when you might need it. Certainly a larger kit would likely be better. I look at these as a littel extra edge.
I have 2 first aid kits that had a whistle ( looks very much like that one) but has a built in pill holder,. I have Benadryl , so over looked, allergenic reaction can happen anytime, even with things you are used to eating !! And that is survival on purpose !! Good review!! Good kit !!! there also first aid, knot tying and survival apps that are free for smart phones
1.5 litre bag! Woo hoo you've embraced the metric system! Keep it up! I suffer from sensitive eyes in the sun because of contact lense wearing always wear sunglasses even when it's just bright and not so sunny as it hurts! Compass = "cumpass" Aluminum was the second name for Aluminium, the inventor finalised on the name Aluminium i know how you guys over the pond don't like to encompass change and the future such as centigrade, metric system! Haha
I consider kits like this an accessory to your skill. A fully stocked survival kit that was left in the vehicle because to was too bulky won't save you either.
On the pocket survival kits , they seem like they'd be a lot better than nothing , but using a razor blade for much is gonna eventually make your hands sore , but I'm sure you could mitigiate that by carving it a handle , and if you wanted to really cement it in , pour in molten jolly roger candy , for makeshift epoxy , thus making a mini ulu knife The pocket sharpening stone on the other hand , that would make a great addition to a big knife's sheath pouch , may get one to go with my Western W49 bowie Well , after the rambling , Nice video
I know, but a razor blade is better than a scalpel blade in my opinion. Besides, if you don't have a knife on you at all times you are just plain wrong ;-) Especially, in the woods.
@@SurvivalOnPurpose trust me , I don't take a step into the woods without my western W49 bowie on my hip for the heavier tasks and a svord peasant for light duty tasks And I always have the peasant on me But I agree on that , razor blade beats a scalpel , and beats no cutting tool whatsoever by miles , but a proper knife , even a folder is a lot better than either one
How much is this one? I am pretty excited about every other thing they have come up with, this is the only one where I might just say I will make my own, but I DO like the tin. Everything else I have seen from him is great. His knife honestly is great too, just more than I spend on blades.
Bryan, since SG is sponsoring your channel maybe you should contact them about their quality control issues which seem to be going to hell right along with their customer service. I know I'm not alone in this since I'm seeing complaints and bad reviews popping up all over RUclips and Google.
Actually on another channel I seen that same kit the guy used to cut a bamboo pole put line on it used those hooks caught a grasshopper then caught some nice big bluegill started a fire with that kit and cooked and ate that fish , people need to remember any kit even the best kit is only as good and useful as the person using it I stress use your equipment get comfortable with it so when an emergency happens, and sooner or later it will, you can actually use whatever equipment you have, having it and properly, using it is something else
I can't knock any of it, I like the kit overall, and once you get all these products combined it does make a pretty cool little bundled kit that could easily save your butt. I'd change a few things around, I think anyone would, but this whole bundle is "pretty stinkin' cool". Thanks for showing us this stuff Bryan! Another good video. ***AFTER THOUGHT*** It's not often I have an afterthought that will take me back to a video to edit my comment but this one hit me hard enough to do just that. Your friends over at Ultimate Survival Tips and Tiny Survival, as well as yourself, are missing a trick if they don't watch this video, then put together and sell an "Ultimate Tiny Survival On Purpose In an Altoid's Tin Pocket Kit". Okay, the name needs work but... I'd buy one for sure! Maybe sell pre-loaded kits for varying purposes and also customize kits to order too?
I have never been a fan of these Pocket Survival Kits. I carry 2 M 14 Magazine Pouches that are my "Survival Kit". The problem I have with the small Kits is they are minimalist. They carry the bare minimum and will make life difficult for anyone who has no training. My first Pouch has things like my my Fire Kit, First Aid Kit, Water Tablets and Water Filter as well as 50 Feet of Paracord.. The second Pouch has things like my Lighter, Fire Steel, Flint and Steel, Pot and Cups, Broth, Coffee and Tea and a small folding knife.
Like every pocket kit I've ever seen, it doesn't have room for and does not address ready made/quick access shelter. It leaves you vulnerable to death by exposure.
I am sure it includes methods on how to build a shelter. I see your point though. I leave the house dressed for the weather. I would hope most people would too.
I feel these type of kits should be called survival aid, starter or helper kits as they require a level of skill, practice and knowledge to do any good. I get that it's better than nothing if it's all you have in your pocket but it's still shy of a "Survival Kit".
I would not buy that kit as most of the items in there are useless and I already have two kits with everything I would need in an emergency including a real medical kit and would depend on it. The items in the kit you showed don't seem to be very useful except the small flashlight which is included in two kits I have and I find to be useless. I have seen other survival kits like the one here and did not purchase them due to the lack of items I would need.
You should check out David Vest ( ruclips.net/user/Bgood2ppl ), he know a lot about fire starting. It's he's hobby to find new ways to start a fire and witch materials that are good for friktions fire. He also know a lot of ways to start a fire with a fresnel lens.
Just enough room for a space blanket and a few more water tablets and tinderquick tabs
Don't know how I missed this last year. But a really nice kit.
Thanks for sharing.
the fresnel lens works pretty good to brighten up the little led light,,so not a total loss also it's good for splinter removal,
Makes reading the guide a little easier also
Really a nice little kit, and a well done video. I'm looking forward to seeing that compass set up as well. Keep up the great work.
Stay tuned.
Over all a pretty good kit. I would add a cheap space blanket a handkerchief a poncho and a small folding knife.

key is to come up with your own bugout bag and more than likely you'll want to leave that in your car
Buddy Wiser Then you should run right out and buy one.

Very usable items! Worth the investment. Also what kind of a watch are you wearing?

@@SurvivalOnPurpose Thanks
No emergency blanket though. It could be added.
Yeah, no way you're getting one of those in a "tiny" (Altoids-sized) kit. They do band to the back neatly though
Awesome video and thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Cool idea. Does the gear work? Would you start a fire? Also seeing you attempt to fish with that would be great.
I did start a little fire. At least I got a very small portion of the tinder quick tab lit.
How much is this one? I am pretty excited about every other thing they have come up with, this is the only one where I might just say I will make my own, but I DO like the tin. Everything else I have seen from him is great. His knife honestly is great too, just more than I spend on blades.
I don't remember right now bit the price is on the website. I remember it is less that the Adventure Medical Pocket Survival kit I have had for years,
Nice "fire" kit. Lol
Thanks for sharing.
I like that it is "fire heavy"

great review

Nice little kit
I think so.

I have not had any issues with them and I have bought stuff from them myself fairly recently.
i'd like to see someone catch a fish with a 10 cent fishing kit in there.
I think you'de have a much better chance with than without it THAT is the point,
Bluegill, no problem, they'll bite on anything.

a makeshift spear would look better

You can sort of build you own kit but it is not 100% custom

Sorry to hear your glasses aren't working for ya. I love mine prevents optical migraines.
They get completely on my nerves.
How do you sharpen that knife is there a trick
No trick.
How bad of a situation do you have to be in to have to use something like this ? If you're resorting to this, it's too late. My opinion
A bad situation. Which is exactly what this designed to help with.
Better something than nothing 🔥
Only thing I would actually purchase is the guide. The rest I could easily build myself.
Thanks
Great video, thanks for sharing, God bless!
Thank you too
Was this a serious review?
Absolutely
Can your photosensitive lenses still be used to start a fire?
I doubt that
