ok wtf I was getting notifications that my video got published, turns out I had this one on Scheduled since last week. forgot about it. WELL HERE IT IS! I MAKE MISTAKES OK!
OLA THE MISTAKERER
Hey man, just noticed that your live video from a few hours ago is set to private. Did that happen on purpose? Greetings dude
@@Targon999 it´s blocked and waiting for processing. I had to trim out a bunch of parts where cdbaby had it blocked.
Ola Englund drinks coffee and shit excellence.. even when he makes mistakes lol
@@OlaEnglund alright, thx 🤘
This reminds me that Ola should make an official SOLAR amplifier. his own brand amplifier.
AGREED!
Think you’d struggle to get enough power from solar to run an amp 🤔
I would like that, He has the tonal taste I would like, because he knows to much of many amps starting from Randall to infinity.
Hopefully it would turn out better than Wylde Audio amps LOL!
Ola with his welding mask on is something I'd like to see
This is almost a perfect Opeth tone. It’s got fantastic clarity for distorted tone. We can hear every note in a chord. Damn, I want one now lol
yup and great for thrash metal as well.
These are GREAT amps. Awesome to hear this fucker properly!
Heard Eric Steckel playing one of these monsters and it sounded massive! Absolutely fell in love with that tone. #bluesmetal
Yeh man his tone is amazing, Doug Rappoport has an amazing review as well.
@@martinhagen2913 well then I'm gonna have to go check that one out too. Doug is an amazing player, I'm sure he's done that amp justice!
Prog Mode makes you start chugging in 5/8, 7/8, even 11/8 (adjustable on the back).
Italian amplification! now i am definitely proud of my country!
this is such a killer amp and the Italians are knocking it out of the park. Mezzabarba and RedSeven are making slamming stuff now.
You know it’s a good amp when it doesn’t need a OD pedal.
It sounded so much better with the pedal in front of it, though.
He had both the boost and OD on at the same time. Probably overkill.
I agree. My amp (Laney Ironheart) sounds great on its own with plenty gain, which is why I bought it. Has a switchable boost built-in, so I don't need an additional pedal for that either 😀👍
My pedals live purely in the FX loop: some modulation, compressor and noisegate. Love it 😎
Not true. Lots of amazing amps work best with pedals because they help you shape the tone from the front of thr amp. Doesn't matter thr make or cost. Pedals always help.
Amps don't need an OD pedal. Players do.
Jesus.... when he threw on the 33, the tone literally killed me. Wowza...!
Yo congrats on that amp, lots of tone possibilities and brutal af when he was chugging 99, Ola dialed that thing in for you, smart move sending him the amp first! Great video!!
Haha true dat
Its like very crunchy and raw in the high end that reminds me of classic Marshall sounds, but it is a modern beast that smacks you in the balls with low end grunt and punch. Wow that was impressive.
Amazing amp! Sounds really good! Presence high , bright engaged, and high.. Mmm high of course! Brutal!
“O0ooH clean.. clean for days man!” too funny XD
beautiful clean tho
It's almost if every knob on the thing is "more good".
Damn this thing sounds good.
Mezzabarba are amazing amps. Super nice guy that makes them as well. Expensive, but so is most fancy Italian things :)
agree love my MZero a killer amp that does rock, blues and metal quite well and great dynamics.
The brand name literally means "Halfbeard" in Italian
I was about to say the same. But I wanted to make some kind of "compared to Zakk Wylde Ola just has a Mezzabarba" statement.
Si corretto viva l italia
@@ildima6038 In realtà al momento siamo un po' moribondi, ma speriamo la situazione migliori presto
@@LucaPasini Un po' moribondi come tutto il mondo, a dire il vero
Back in the day Jaco Pastorous had concert somewhere in Italy
He said:
"-I would like say some.jokes, but I dont speak italian.."(everyone in venue were totally quiet)
"I thought you got it"-said Jaco(still all venue quiet)
"No,you dont...."said Jaco laughing itself.
Right on schedule. I've been considering one of these and weighing it against the new Soldano SLO-100. This sounds pretty cool!
Ohhh finalmente, erano anni che aspettavo un video di Ola che prova un ampli Mezzabarba! Figatissima!
Hell yeah! The Trinity sounds amazing!!! Grande Pierangelo!!!
Ola is my favorite guitar channel dude just looks like he’s having fun and he’s not generic af like other ones
plus his oddball Swedish sense of humor makes videos quite entertaining to watch
I was looking very forward to watching you do this amp in a video someday! Needless to say this did not disappoint at all! Also, loved the brevity and the indifference regarding the clean channel at the beginning. Glad to know I'm not the only one!
"you push this button and go into full on prog mode" lmfao
The name of the brand is Masotti, a really nice one in italy
This sounds a million times better than ola's normal rectifier tone
I think the Mezzabarba sounds great, not completely modern sounding which gives the amp its own character, the gain is definitely there, it’s a great amp without question would like to hear in a mix.
OMG OLA! thank you for that The Haunted riff. Its my Fave and allways wanted to learn it now i know!. You the best!.
well, it's like a JCM having a child with a Triple Rectifier ..
thats a really accurate description
@@BobbyCulpepper.srv3fender Hint, it's actually based on the sllllowwwww, amplifier... (soldano).
@@stevestevestevesteve6466 Not really but, let's say that if some cars share exactly the same engine and that engine IS what it's the most important to their success, it's the SLO engine for certain amplifiers.
A funny thing is, the new SLO mk II by BAD, mike soldano redesigned, has some improvements and some (very slightly) altered values.
In the end, he accidentally ...cloned the hughes and kettner triamps lead channel, which is of course SLO based. Down to the values altered. The clone had some minor improvements. You can only do so much with some circuits. It is "different" than the original SLO.
Those amps that tick because of it, are known, framus cobra and dragon, rectifier of course. EVH and peavey 5150. The evh is by far the most drifted afar. The blue channel people love has some of the logic of the SLO but it's a different beast at all.
It could be its own amp!.
Laboga, I think diezel herbert as well are SLOs.
But this trinity is practically an SLO with midi and EL34s. I wonder why he labels it as a mezzabarba amp. In the sense that older massotti/mezzabarba amps have different, unique and derived by him circuits.
Anyway, it is what it is. If you open it up you may go aggghhh SLO.
There are videos vs an SLO in the same cab. They sound identical even with different power tubes. In the end...I wouldn't pay for the mezzabarba. It's a copy of sorts, it does not have resale or brand recognition at the same level, it's a great amp but with almost 4000 you can buy the original or 2 or 3 ...similar amps lol.
Hi Ola Just Wanted to say that me and my dad love watching your video and laugh everytime! Don’t ever stop:)
The lighting looks so artificial that I don't even know if the room is real. Is the room real Ola? ARE YOU EVEN REAL OLA??!
of course he was replaced long time ago. The real Ola was silent
Seriously looks like a “Ola Plug-in”
Your playing in this video really diversified. Not that I didn’t mind your playing before but you pulled some cool stuff and some interesting chords in this vid.
Ola just pre ordered my Natural aged EX was stoked after I bought it and went back to the guitars page it was sold out looks like I got the last one very stoked for this guitar also my very first Solar. Thanks Ola for all the hard work big fan VERY EXCITED FOR THIS GUITAR!!!
That fucking thing sounds absolutely amazing! I've never heard of this brand but damn they're awesome as hell. The clean tone sounded awesome as well.
@ 2:46 metal meets blues, bravo 👏
I'm always like "clean for days man" lol
Well, the 33 was boosting while "Boost" was turned on the amplifier. Might have made a difference if only one of them were on at a time.
no wonder that thing sounds so good it costs a honda civic
Maybe 2 Civics man...
yes of course go buy an axe fx3 for 2500 euro
wow!!! just saw the price. :))
@@riccardopocci73 Go buy a Bluguitar AMP 1 Irridium for 750 and put them all to shame!
Does it sound good?
Ok. The amp sounds awesome. But that groove around 2:46 is killer my friend!
8:04 that moment when you think Ola is going to crank that overdrive knob to the max and he is like: lol, no
Ola the troll :D
In Italy we make good pasta, pizza...and also Amps !!!!!!
There are some great other brands such as Brunetti and Masotti that make amplifiers, as well as Markbass
You forgot cars and sick motorcycles...
How not to love Italy 🖖🏻
Luca Pasini of course! As a good Italian I’m proud of our music addiction 🤟🏻
@@LucaPasini Masotti is Mezzabarba.
Also Rufini guitars/basses
Ola, I really enjoy your content and how you are managing to put out quality content with frequency, keep it up my dude and cheers from brazil
Amazing tone man. I really liked it .
The transformers in that thing like gigantic! That amp must weigh a ton!
There live butique amp builder nearby and he swears, that good transformer (more then meets the eye) is the most important part of valve amp. And good transformers (robots in disguise) are big, beefy and heavy :D
@@stanislavmigra It doesn't have to be too huge but made of excellent materials by someone that actually loves making them. Most high production amps cut costs at the transformers, which is why your builder friend is correct. Transformers and speakers are 99% of the equation for tubes.
That's why the low end is massive, it could act as Bass guitar amp head. Get some Lemmy tones.
It actually weighs a lot less than my Krankenstein lol
That "Bright Switch" should be ON as Default to my ears.
Ola i played this and the Mzero Overdrive. Bought the Mzero OD in a heartbeat .
To me it sounded rawer/ organic and much more BRUTAL.
Great demo as always man.. 🤘🤘🤘
by the way that guitar looks awesome.
Wow Ola !! All Against All is my all time favorite song from The Haunted. I absofuckinglutely LOVE that song. Awesome.
Noice!! Please record the rig of the week with the engl Savage again. Instead of the one that is gone. This amp is just too awesome to just stand on the shelf. 🙏
Love that tone. Reminds me of the Hiwatt Super Hi 50.
You should demo The People's Amplifier. They're a boutique amp build by hand in Columbus Ohio. I've recorded with them, and they're something special. Only two knobs, but lots of attitude.
That riff for channel 2 hahahaha! Epic!
Ola! I have 2 requests for rig of the week, if you don't mind.
1. Peavey Triple XXX
2. Randall RX120RH (use a tube screamer with it)
I loved the manual tossing
Damn, that thing sounds badass!
Ola started playing funky riffs and it's nice
Ola needs to do a rig of the week with the Peavey Triple XXX. I’ve been thinking about buying one again after I regrettably sold my old one years ago, but there’s no good demos on RUclips 😢
if you turn all the knobs to max , like bass treble , drive and use your guitars volume to taste, this amp will sound amazing no pedals required.
Very good job OIa.... I really enjoy this series.... In a way, it reminds me your earlier videos... good stuff...
I'd love to see you try out a rig with a filtertron-loaded solidbody guitar and make it chug. Very few great demos of it (with hi gain) out there and I think they'd do a good job. I know one of the guys from Cult Of Luna plays a gretsch live and they sound huge.
Been waiting for a filtertron too!
I find filtertrons do sound huge. But, in my experience I don’t care for the palm mute sound. But unmuted powerchords do rock with them.
italians doing it right.
btw you pronounced it *messabarba* lmao
He also says “John Petrushi,” so... 🤣
Z is a S sound in Swedish so makes sense if you think of it that way.
@@DEJ915 yeah, no flame here. As italian myself is really funny
Casso!
You're reading it wrong it's the Mesa Barba, Mesa's new product line for neckbeard guitarists
Hey Ola! Love the T-Shirt. Totally awesome! I became a fan of Feared from the first time I heard it. Love your channel. Keep it up!
I am planing to build a small studio in the basement of my house. Can you recommend something for the walls to keep the noise away?
"They're like aaaaa clean, aaaaahhh clean for days man." 😂
Ola - “that’s gunna piss off my neighbors”
Also Ola - “das okay”
Was literally looking at buying one of these yesterday and now we got ourselves a sweet demo.
Fate?
Alternate reality?
Peanut butter?
I'm gonna go with peanut butter
Hotel?
@@ElUniQorNi0 trivago
Definitly peanut butter man
Ola- "...k" -turns gain to 10-
This is why im subbed lol
Nice smooth distortion, great video!
Eyy Ola. Awesome video's. Ever thought about making a video about the Engl Savage vs Savage SE vs Savage Mark II? Would be very unique and interesting! Greetings from Belgium, Jens.
7:57 Testament - down for life \m/
Not the first time I notice a riff from The Gathering, Genius album ( Lombardo
@@dirtyandnasty9011 Feared once covered "D.N.R."
@@dirtyandnasty9011 definitely their heaviest album
Really Rock Sound... :) Very Cool demo.. I Know Mr. Mezzabarba... his amps are really made in Italy... Rock On Guys :)
About time Mezzabarba receiving some consideration from Ola!
Here is a rigg i would go for it:
Head: Driftwood amplification purple nightmare head 100
Cab: 4x12 Mesa rectifier
Mics: sm57, sm421 or that direction
Guitar: any of your choice but a solar 7 string would be cool to see again.
In my opinion, this rigg would be really great for good Chugs.
The Driftwood is pretty dang brutal, good choice.
OWW MY BALLS! Insane with the Fortin boost!
Thinking about buying the Digitech Trio+ ... could be fun to see you fuck around with it.
Just what the amp world needs. Another JCM800 with a big power section and an extra gain stage.
love that all against all riff @ 5:20
Not gonna lie, this seems like one of those super expensive amps that they used to advertise in the back of Guitar World magazine. Just a lot of money to have an amp that no one's ever heard of, that can achieve high gain with a few gimmicks
Not Answering these amps are actually really great. Highly recommend checking them out if you’re ever at NAMM.
@@johnhuldt Dont get me wrong, I got no doubt that they're great. (And i would like to try one very much)
Dynamics of this amp is without comparison...no wait, theres this one american dude...i cant remember his name anymore :) I know, its my amp :D :D
Rig of the week suggestion: solar -> Behringer UM300 -> Marshall Valvestate 8080
Love the sound! Great amp head! Thanx Ola!🤘
At 7:19 where he starts to fuck with the depththththth knob, I made that same "oh yeah" face right at the same time as Ola did lol. I guess those expensive headphones were a good addition to my new gaming pc so I can hear Ola make the room shake.
That amp sounds really good.
I really like how the amp lets you hear the strings are pushed hard, it sounds killer.
Kickass rig! You should try a Randall T2 hybrid head with a Celestion loaded cabinet.
Really like the tone of this amp. Sounds awesome. Not the most affordable amp. Good for the wish list
I love it how this turned into a backdoor episode of Will It Chug!?
One of my favorite testament riffs to play too
olaaaaa, it is not Mesa barba
IT IS MEZZA BARBA!!
subscriber from Italy.
Great demo!
Sound killer! I think it whould be cool if you put together a stereo rig for next Rig of the Week.
Lol favourite opening of any rig of the week by far, maybe favourite amp tone too? 🤘🏻
Interesting amplifier - it has Mesa Boogieish sound to it, but pricing matches 100%. :)
crazy price!
@@vfam825 Haha, yeah! Though what I would call crazy price for any product would be like "5 greased midgets and an goat for this toaster, good Sir!". Seriously though, I think amp is interesting and as it is "hand made" by small company the price is well explained - seriously I would like give a try on one, but Ola did an good shoot on it too!
They are boutique handmade in Italy, so yes, it’s expensive
Yea fractal and Kemper don’t do that, I can tell Ola is impressed...
That guitar is sick! The wood color is very envious.
Looks like Hetfield's main squeeze lol.
Mezzabarba is hella insane! It has Masotti trasformers!
Haunted riffs make me happy
It doesn't need any boost. It sounds quite adequately rich and beefy on its own. Seems to be a very respectable amp.
I like how you threw in All Against All, that was solid
6:02 is to die for... you know it to be true!
Strumming hard brings a level of CHONK that tickles my fancy.
Great Ola🤟🏻Fucking Amazing
Heyyyyyyyyy Ola... Great video!!! Please make the next video with an EVH 5153!!!! Love that amp!!!
Try this rig
Amp: acoustic lead series G35
Pedals: cool music insane distortion, kokko overdrive, for toon Zuul noise gate
For me it sounds like a mesa boogie dual rectifier with EL34 and with the easy dialing of a peavey 5150.
Sounds cool thought aggresive but with a good amount of low end 😊
This amp is a tweaked SLO clone, as are the dual rec and 5150.. so you're right
